  1. "I doubt if any AR would help with the magnifying effects of my SMP's crystal." Nope, Ar wouldn't have any effect but decreasing reflexes on the glass. I know very well because i got coated a crystal with loupe effect. As being said, your best option is measuring thickness and diameter with a caliper (you can find one for 10-15 bucks).
  2. Damn it... i have a case with correct hv and sn ...and a gen bezel to swap.
  3. 3.3 mm , holy [censored]!! SMP should have a 1.5 - 2 mm crystal thanks Chief
  4. Yeah, if i remember right it's the only missing mod your franken still waits for. It's well worth it.
  5. Ubi i immediately realized that from the pic you attached.
  6. Ubi po's crystal is thicker as far as know, probabily 2 mm.
  7. Hi all, i have a quick question regarding the exact crystal size for a Seamaster 300 2254.80 and Planet ocean 42mm. I just need to know the difference in diameter and thickness. To my knowledge: SMP 2254 Diameter 30.45 mm Thickness 1.5 mm is it correct? PO 42 mm Diameter ? Thickness ? Any clarification would be much appreciated.
  8. Guys i don't wanna be too negative but i guess nickel or non nickel ETA it's gonna be the last of our complaints.
  9. That would be great Andy. A pure gentleman as usual.
  10. Am i mistaken or the SMP in your pic is a heavily modded franken? How did you mod the pearl? It looks great. Did you also replace the crystal? I'd say... yes replace the movement, the watch is a beauty and it's well worth it. Not sure though if it's a straight swap.
  11. Hello Folks, i'm willing to replace the datewheel on my SMP: movement ETA 2824. white figures on black background. Must be this one: ETA280225571WB3: ETA 2802 2557.1 Date Ring 3 o'clock White Figures on Black Background Do you know where to source it? Ofrei is a pain in the ass to deal with if you're not in CONUS. Cousins i'm afraid 's got a minimum billing and the shipment it's pretty expensive for such a small amount. Any idea? Thanks
  12. I have been hunting for years for a gen railmaster dial but no soup so far. Case number should be between 196.1111 and 196.1113 Omega Railmaster 2503.52 If you like the watch i think it can be worth it ...unfortunately it's not that easy to source one. p.s: i feel ashamed to admit but once i found a dial on the bay and i was so stupid to let someone else win the auction (it was around 80us$). Since then i have never seen another railmaster dial for sale. Good luck
  13. it sounds interesting, do you have some pics/examples?
  14. Well...actually i still have to decide which watch i'm gonna use it. I have to buy it. I will probably buy a second hand watch, after all i'm not interested in accuracy, also an old replica would be fine.
  15. I'm sure it will be a hell of a watch. This time i don't want a frankenwatch, i want something no-brand, that's why i cannot consider to buy a used gen dial. aeromatic, can i ask you if the rolex writings on the rehaut and the cyclop mag are difficult to get rid of? am i supposed to find a replacement for the crystal? thanks
  16. Hi mate, actually i would prefer some writings on the dial otherwise it would be too simple in may opinion. That's why i like so much some MKII dials (unfortunately the most beautiful ones are not for sale as spare dials). What i really don't want is the rolex word on it. I 'm looking for a dial similar to the Tudor with snowflakes hands, that's beautiful. Or also a no-date sub style with different hands(i don't like cyclops mag at all). I just need to be patient. By the way, i was thinking i could also buy a Alpha sub to start the project, i'm sure the quality wouldn't be worse compared to a noobmariner.
  17. aeromatic, that's really a nice watch, kudos to your friend! I also prefer old style rolex watches to the new ones. Now i just have to find a dial i like that can fit well a sub case and bezel. I want to replace hands as well, i want something peculiar, not too close to a sub. Cheers
  18. Cool, thanks Pug
  19. Forgot couple of questions: - is the rehaut replaceable? I 'd like a watch with no rolex insigna, no writing on it. - does a noobmariner come with mineral crystal? - is there a way to use a ETA date wheel with the asian movement? Thanks again
  20. Hi everybody, i need some help from you guys since my knowledge about rolex is almost non-existent. I'm not a big fan of rolex but i'd like to create a customized watch using a rolex replica case with a MKII dial and snowflake model hands. My questions are: - can i use a 28mm dial for eta movement in a rolex replica case? would it fit or it would be too small/big? - would a ETA2824 fit a case for asian movement? do i need a specific movement holder? - is it easy to find a crown replacement with no crown on it and also a no-brand clasp replacement? - i don't want any magnification for the date since i'm gonna coat the crystal, can i use the same crystal removing a single part of it? I'm fully aware those are stupid questions for you but as said i'm a total noob about this brand. Any tip appreciated. Thank you
  21. I'm also a fan of this watch but i'm not gonna buy it for 2 reasons: - too busy dial, i have the feeling sometimes it's not that easy to read - too thick for my wrist, it looks like a tank Such a pity for me since i love that case and the dial and bracelet look top notch as well Wear it well!!
  22. Holy [censored]!! i didn't notice the date was 2006. Sorry folks
  23. Looks great! Can we have a pic of the caseback and a pic of the pearl? Perl looks particularly good for a rep. Thanks for sharing
  24. Keep it, i'm considering to buy one too, just waiting for a good deal
  25. Great pics, and almost perfect size (imho perfect range is 38-42 mm, for watches with ext bezel like that 41-42mm is the optimum) Thanks again vumer
