In the following pics you can see segments (red and yellow) of the same lenght in different models. Proportions look different. Now looking at these pics and checking with photofiltre it's evident hands position and date window position is slightly different between models. I checked distances from pinions and it's not identical. Is it possibile with a modified 7750? If i'm right the dial would be totally useless for the project.

Thanks lads

I'd like to replace a 7750 date wheel. I read date wheel from a Swiss 7750 can be installed in asian versions with no worry so i thought to do this mod if i can find a swiss 7750 date wheel. Got any tips where i could find it? Thank you

Yep, i guessed the same even though i don't have any idea how i could trim the dial. Even better solution would be a dealer could tell me replica dial size and internal case size. Dial's already here but before getting the watch i'll try to ask our dealers to check the dial size in their watch. Else i'll wait someone else buy the replica (spitfire is much more accurate, get that ). Thanks Ubi

Just what i wanted to hear. Genuine watch should have a modified 7750 and my dial has pins position between 12 to 1 o'clock position and slightly before 7 o'clock position. But i dunno if those are the usual feet position for 7750 dials. Thanks The Zigmeister

Hi all, anyone knows where are located? I have a genuine dial with feet at 7 and beetween 0 and 1 oclock and i wondered if they will fit the movement or i'll have to cut both dial feet. Thanks

I wish it was true. Asian 7750 is well known to be a problematic movement (The Zigmeister, our watchmaking master, suggests to get it serviced to prevent breakings). I'm aware we're talking about replica but there's nothing wrong in looking for the best accuracy from em, especially when price's over 250$. If price was 100$ i could agree with you but from a 250$ replica i expect good accuracy and this watch doesn't excel at all in it. Besides there are other better replicas in term of accuracy and at the same price i wouldn't get this one. It still remains a nice watch but not accurate and for me it's a big flaw. Jones is much more accurate, flaws are not so evident and you can get it for 110$ wth asian movement. At the end it's just matter of tastes and opinions.

coquito i'm just listing the most evident flaws for the Pilot Chrono (not the spitfire): - seconds hands and subdials hand of the wrong color (should be white) - inaccurate case (pushers should be bigger) - no white circles in 2 subdials - wrong disposition of numbers in 9-o-clock subdial - too short minutes hand - too slim hours hand - caseback Most likely i forgot something else. Is it enough to say it's pretty inaccurate? Genuine:

You were right. Doppel dial is 1.6mm larger. Not much but it could be an issue if the replica case was too small.

Thanks lasaint, you ordered a beautiful watch but it's completely different from the Pilot Iwc. However no doubt i'll enjoy your pics. Dealers' sites tell 39-40mm but it wouldn't be the first time they made a mistake (and it's fully understandable considering how many watch they have). .... (dealers' sites or dealers sites? which one is correct in english? i don't remember "possessive case" rules... )

If someone did, please check for me the total dial diameter. It would be much appreciated as i'm planning to get this watch (whan price will be proportioned to the accuracy of this watch ) and replace the dial with a genuine one. Thanks

Thom probabily case is larger (cases are different) but dial has the same size. I'm almost sure of that cause if you look at the diameter of the Spitfire Chrono you'll see size is the same (34mm) that's why i presume this genuine dial could fit the replica case. Thank you
-
Good question. I don't know that for a fact but i hope it will fit the replica case. Dial size should be approximately the same but i don't own either hence i can't be sure of that. What do you suggest me to do before ordering the new replica? Is there a way to establish that? Thanks kruzer

Striking pics as usual Pug.

Sorry for the messy title I'm planning to create a frankenwatch based on the Iwc Pilot Chrono classic and for now i just have a genuine dial (i found a dial for a doppelchrono but i don't care). Here i'd like some tips and suggestions from you as my project is still in fieri and nothing has already decided (except of course the dial). Genuine Watch: Genuine dial i own (trust me it's in good condition for the price i paid): I thought to purchase the following replica, unfortunately not very accurate, or a second-hand spare case (not easy at all) Now...i'm not sure if i want to stay as closest as possible to the original design or if i should change something complying with my taste. Changes and mods i'd like to do: different hands and black date window with white font. As for the black date window i drew inspiration from the new Iwc model: http://www.jackroad.co.jp/images/iwc06101.jpg Any tips would be much appreciated. Please be honest and tell me if you think it's a dumb project and just a waste of time and money. Thanks for reading and bearing my poor english language

You have a serious responsibility considering you''ll be the first reviewer

Yours has the correct squarish date font but if i'm not wrong also Mark's watch is from TTK and it has the same date font. They should be identical.
-
Yep ..but we're talking about replica here.
-
You sure Taka? He asked if the genuine Tag has relume on dial.
-
Probably there's just a very light AR treatment as for PO 4th gen.
-
It could be a faulty movement, not so rare with asian 7750. Try to ask your dealer what he suggests you.

Did you wind the movement before using chrono?
