  1. Looks like it may even be later than Sept. Hopefully before Xmas. Here's the link to the RG thread http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=191886 Here's a couple pics from the thread
  2. Welcome aboard. Normally I'd say do a bunch of reading in the forum but there is currently no good JLC Reverso replica. There is a project being spread headed by Angus over at puretime.co but it's not due out until later in September. It will be the small simple 1931 model and will be over $300.
  3. oic now. The 6 is way off with the crown. Have them reshoot pic to show it is aligned.
  4. Hi there, Thanks for hosting a great forum. My fave! I used to be VIP here until the Paypal issues about a year ago. Has that been resolved? I can't send PMs in Tapatalk. Also search doesn't work well if using Tapatalk. The previously participated thread tab/search doesn't work. Any way to fix that? Cheers
  5. Just put it back on this morning after 36 hours curing the epoxy. I think it will hold. A few pics for ya. Thanks for the help RWG!
  6. Sounds like you're tired of it already. Just let me know :-)
  7. Some great pics out here guys but what the heck is this Pilot beauty?? Rep? I gots the 111 this morning
  8. It's secure. The spring bar holds it in place. The glue just keeps the end link from flopping over once in a while I'll update thread thread as I wear it.
  9. Ok! I glued it! Here's a couple of pics. It was easy. I just attached the end links to the head and stuck a toothpick full of glue down the gap. Then cleaned off the excess. I didn't do it to the bottom link, just the top. The bottom seems to be fine without. Hopefully it holds.
  10. Ok I think I get it, about the spring bar/pin. I took out a bunch of them from my other watches and some were too thick to fit while others made no difference. So I went down to the hardware store and bought some Liquid Nails epoxy for metal. It looks like the right stuff. I'll try it out and post my results. Thanks for all the feedback guys. Much appreciated!
  11. Bump for a great thread! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk - now Free
  12. LOL why do you suppose this guy wants to keep his gen bracelet when selling this gen XVI? Getting a rep? Hehe http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=6586668&rid=0#msg_6586668 I guess I'll need to research these different glues and just try it.
  13. @Dutchguy2 there is NO problem with you. You disclosed it and I am totally fine with it. I enjoy the watch and the bracelet is a must for me. Comfort and style
  14. Thanks for getting into the discussion guys. Except for the larger spring I do understand what you are saying. In my pics you can see the bottom link fits nicely. As did the top. It works fine for me. If that spring you refer to is the bar in the picture then i don't think i cam fit a larger one through the space. There is no gap in the other glued side so I don't understand how rubber shim could be the answer. @Dutchguy2 sold me this beauty a while ago and he just PM'd saying I should try a metal epoxy because he didn't use a metal epoxy, just regular epoxy. I'm still leaning towards the GS contact cement.
  15. I'll take it apart tomorrow to clarify what you say. Would be nice to do it right.
  16. Ummm... Not sure it has any spring bars. The guy who retro fitted the bracelet to 'work' (which is perfectly fine with me) had it glued but the glue wore off I guess. So exactly what part is the 'spring bar?'

I also thought the left DW to be gen but the hands lume looks crooked.
  18. Ah yes! That's it! GS Hypo Cement with that precision applicator. Thanks Ben
  19. Hi guys. Can I please get some recommendation for a specific contact cement, epoxy, or glue that I could use to hold down my end link? My IWC XVI stainless steel bracelet end link flops around and needs to be glued down. I was gonna try some crazy glue but figured I'd tap the collective first. I remember a thread where someone endorsed a specific brand/product but I can't find that thread I love the watch and it was custom fitted with a bracelet from an XV if I recall correctly.
  20. Thanks for the interesting info OP. I didn't know any of that. Some watches look like crap a few years down the road. I remember those old 90's Tag's to be that way. Looking at all these nice pics I would tend to think the same about most of them too. Durability and timeless styling are important (no pun intended). Most of these look too busy to me. I think Tag is trying to overcome all of this as a brand. I look at them as the Volkswagen Toureg instead of the Porsche Cayenne. JMHO since your asking. (Asbestos underwear on)
  21. Yup!! It's true. Angus at PT on RG has been detailing the steps. I think someone posted actual pics of the sample here on RWG too. Should be available by months end Yes the Laureus Sport Pilot is another sweet looker.,
  22. I like the 3717. It's one of the most discussed of the pilot watches. Or you can wait and get the new 3777 in a couple of weeks. It should be in the super rep category. Oh! BTW a new bracelet is coming out for the XVII. I think it's a must for that and all the pilots. Especially the 3717 and 3777
  23. Michelle at Silix has been very good to me. Be specific when asking for stock check and go for it! Two thumbs up!
