  1. A couple of weeks ago I saw a pic on the fora of a PAM with a caramel colored leather strap that was so old, or worn, or soft that it just had no stiffness at all. It was like a wet noodle attached to some lugs. It wasn't on a wrist. -just sitting there sort of wrapped around itself. I haven't been able to get that picture out of my mind and I haven't been able to find the thread to drool a bit. So let's see your softest, most pliable leather straps. And tell us how to get them that way. Cheers
  2. Ok! Two hours of rubbing and it's now way better. Not perfect, but at least it's wearable now I also doused it with a bunch of WD-40 and let that soak in for a while. It's butter smooth now. I may take another run at it to really bring it up to a 10! Thanks for the tips guys!
  3. Wow! That link is great and I'm happy to see it can be done. Thanks! Wish I had a dremel tool. I just googled Cape Cod Polishing Cloth and found it may do the trick. I'm heading down to the hardware store top get one. $4.00 Thanks! I'll let you know how it goes
  4. Hey guys! I just got this PAM168 and I really like it. Problem is that it has a lot of scratches on the bracelet. The gen is titanium and stainless steel but I think this one is a combination of brushed and polished pieces. Even though the links can be taken apart, I'm not too concerned with the brushed part of the link. I just want to refurbish the shiny polished part of the links and the bezel too. Is there a method you guys recommend that can actually restore it to like-new condition? Thanks for looking! Cheers
  5. Watching the dog today. 3717 IWC
  6. Just did a photo shoot of my three IWC Pilot watches. The Mark XVI at 39mm, Mark XVII at 41mm, and the 3717 Pilot Chronograph at 42mm. Enjoy!
  7. What a beauty! I'd love to buy one of these if anyone know where to get one. I think BK is out.
  8. It's so nice in the California sun today. Again. :-)
  9. PC has the biggest selection I've seen. Please show me someone with more? I have just started checking out watcheden.net which may have a lot.
  10. No doubt. What the hell is that? It looks like a mini toaster oven, or pressure cooker strapped to a wrist.
  11. Which one Andy? Either way I don't know. Never hear of the term. I know the XVII hands are a bit short all around.
  12. Two tone DateJust with white Roman dial was my daily beater for 18 years until I found this forum. Seems too small now but I still love it. It's a bulletproof tank, and means a lot to me, as it signifies a milestone achievement.
  13. LOL ya considering I got it from you! BTW thanks for the mentions guys. I just got the Mark XVII so I will post a new thread with the three together. Interestingly it could be made to fit the 3717 bracelet with a little mod.
  14. I just got the Mark XVII today and was wondering if I could use my 3717 bracelet. Unfortunately the lug holes are too close to the case to allow the 3717 bracelet to fit. I think it may fit if I could somehow drill two hole a bit farther from the case. Any ideas? Here's a pic;
  15. Wear 'em if you got 'em! Happy Halloween!
  16. That sucks. Hang in there Giant. I'll help out on a few watches for some friends if I see something they may like to have.
  17. I like the AR as is. The 12 o'clock marker is not fixable unless you get a new dial with aligned markers AFAIK. Lume is good to me too. Great watch though!
  18. The XVI was relumed iirc but the 3717 is stock. [edit] I just double checked and the Mark XVI has the following; -ETA datewheel -Relumed hands and dial -Custom fitted Mark XV bracelet Just want to get some AR on it.
