  1. At which point Neil instinctively bellows..... "Follow, follow, we will follow....."
  2. Oi - gimme my day in the sun @JTB - they ran out of book titles about 20 years ago. This was the one that got away.
  3. Almost there (bar the subdial spacing and sunken datewheel, but heck they're not going to get sorted in a hurry). Best bezel and pearl, and hands are spot on. When will they make a non-chrono as good as this?
  4. Au contraire.... Look here! Oh, and it has three positions.
  5. You missed the croupier's Constellation then Oh, and you'll have noticed they left the line in about Rolex ( ) and Omega.
  6. OK, UK release was yesterday. US today. Anyone else seen it now?! Oh, and something I forgot to mention before. It is strongly hinted in the movie that the baddie is gay. Still trying to work out if the watch he was wearing was a Cartier Roadster or a ..... Franck Muller!!
  7. Oh, nice to see you back and posting Davey
  8. I bought one on a whim because it was a cheap group buy from about a year ago. I thought at the time I should own at least one as a nod to the Panerai heritage and my own Tuscan roots. Turns out to be a load of balls cobbled together to fool some dumb non-foreign [censored]s. I like the watch, but the hype is now putting me off, and the fact that jewellers in Scotland stock genuines and struggle to sell them prove how fickle fashion is. I may one day buy another, but I am in no hurry to do so. (PS. My one and only Pan is away getting relumed, and it made me realise I am not missing it in the slightest.)
  9. Another reason to add to my list of reasons not to buy any more PAMs...
  10. Here's a radical suggestion - don't buy a PAM at all....
  11. On the other hand you could send them some money, receive nothing and then find out in 1 month's time they've gone into administration.....
  12. Ahem, cough.... wrong bezel font on Neil's cough... (runs for cover)
  13. @sash - NICE! but isn't that the blokes' size. If you have it in genteel little lady size then PM me Better still, do you have a decent Quadrella?! @CRK - awww, she would think dat is like a liddle bitty baby version of my Seawolf monster I should say at this point that the watch being quartz isn't an issue - in fact preferable...
  14. I'll be alternating between this and the SMP all week... Silly question.......
  15. At the risk of prompting another double entendre from JTB, I'm trying not to get too anal about the accuracy of a rep watch for my wife and simply go for something I know she would find appealing and not too flashy, but the face on Paul's rendition of the Quadrella is unusual, and I'm sure not accurate.
  16. Nothing is ever simple, is it. Compare these.. Is that a hologram effect I am seeing with the second one?!
  17. LOL Try your local opticians. Bracelet Alert 1 Bracelet Alert 2
  18. Would someone please go round to CJ's house and check he's ok. The above post looks awfully like a 'so long, and thanks' letter.
  19. WE WANT 22mm RUBBER STRAP. WE WANT 22mm RUBBER STRAP. WE WANT 22mm RUBBER STRAP. WE WANT 22mm RUBBER STRAP. WE WANT 22mm RUBBER STRAP. (repeat until someone listens...)
  20. Certainly... Incidentally, the movement fitted to this watch is identical to the one in the 'Noobmariner', even down to the pink gears and the dressed rotor with cut-outs.
  21. There are conflicting stories. The (undersized) NATO strap one in Goldfinger was alleged to be Broccoli's, but the leather strapped one in From Russia with Love is rumoured to be Fleming's as he spent a lot of time on set (and actually has a fleeting, uncredited apperance on screen). Comes down to which story you believe
  22. Hmmm. Not quite. The only reference to Rolex watches in the James Bond novels is in On Her Majesty's Secret Service and no specific model is named, only a 'Rolex Oyster'. As for the Submariner that Sean Connery wore in the original movies, it was Ian Fleming's own watch, which he bought with the proceeds from the sales of the novel On Her Majesty's Secret Service, co-incidentally.... Regarding military issue watches, both Rolex and Omega have been specified by British Forces (where do you reckon those reps with the little 'T' on the dial get their inspiration from?!)
  23. If it is a rubber strap model you want and you must have it now then buy the inexpensive Asia movement 45mm PO. If it is the steel strap version you are looking for then hang fire a short while as two of our respected dealers have reported that the oversized logo issue is in the process of being remedied. As for when a proper 22mm rubber strapped version will appear - your guess is as good as mine, but a steel one should be fit for a band swap when it does eventually surface. @cornerstone. Half price good enough for ya?!
  24. The blue bezel watch is indeed a fantasy piece - a photoshop effort that ended up being used out of context. No PO chronos for the film. DC wears the black 45mm PO for the early action scenes and switches to an SMP for the formal wear. The watch he wore on set for principle filming was in fact a SMP 300m GMT model as the design of the Co-Axial hadn't been finalised yet, but close up shots where the face of the watch is visible were cut-in later using a 'hand/arm double'. Edit: I just saw the 'Bond Bingo' card at the bottom of that page. The people who made it up are clearly clueless... Old News - No Smoking in Casino Royale Ah, I just noticed Dell Deaton's name there. That figures...
