An excellent review, and pretty much spot on my feelings with regards to the movie.
As for the 'gaps' - some are unfortunate consequences of the need to fit in with movie studios' idea of an acceptable running time (scope for a Director's cut DVD there...), others will be filled in in movies to come
PS. Have you considered posting the above review here? Your opinion of Die Another Day is shared by many there.
Maybe it's about time the US did what most of the sane parts of the rest of the world do and start printing different value notes on different colours/sizes of paper??!!
Don't be surprised if you end up with a Chrono Avenger Ti. Its a common error for dealers to make ie. confusing the two the majority of parts are the same.
Because the movements for the reps are usually bulk manufactured and in stock before the rep itself is designed and built, so often the datewheel that the movement arrived with just gets chucked in there. That is why, for example, the first batch of Planet Ocean Chronos had Panerai datewheel font.
Once the stock of existing movements gets used up then they might shift their ass and tool up a new datewheel...
Sadly, the prospects for the scripts are bleak as Robert Wade and Neil Purvis are still on the team - they clearly haven't taken the hint that their first attempt for Casino Royale was [censored] and it took an Oscar winning scriptwriter (Paul Haggis) to rewrite their crap.
I am glad someone appreciated it
You have no idea some of the good incidental stuff they removed (like the significance of the small boy in the African terrorist camp at the beginning, and the fact that the good looking blonde was Le Chiffre's bodyguard more than girlfriend, thus explaining the bad guy's penchant for stripping his male captives naked...... )
coz you knew it was coming??!!
Maybe some day we'll get together and talk about all things Bond and watches. Better wrap it up here as some people are getting bored of us (but then I don't go crapping on their Euro Champions League borefests... )
They are Seamaster Pro straps for the mid and full sized SMP case, not Planet Ocean straps.
You can differentiate the genuine PO strap by the slightly different buckle (it has a round tongue rather than a 10mm flat one).
That is not nearly enough initial winding on a 7750. Even the Valjoux 7750s can have problems if you use the complications without a decent power reserve built up.
Correct. The case has had to be modified and lugholes redrilled in a different position to allow the rep rubber strap to fit as it was originally designed for the SMP, not the PO.
Trusty supplies cases with two sets of lugholes and a positioning hole in the case to accomodate the strap locator. Not having these means you end up with a huge gap between strap end and case.
The genuine 20mm PO strap fits the 42.5mm rep perfectly....
