  1. How many of us either have or crave a 45mm ultimate or chrono Planet Ocean? Most of us, I bet! Right now, if you want to fit a rubber strap to it you can either buy something generic, or pay $300 for the genuine item. If you want a rep 45mm PO with rubber strap you have to settle for the old, 20mm lug spacing Asian model and an (admittedly passable) replica Seamaster strap that the PO case has been modified to accept (tough luck if you already have a 45mm PO with a 20mm SS bracelet as you won't have the extra lugholes required to fit the strap...) As the old model drops out of production and more dealers carry the new case, this avenue will close to us. The replica world NEEDS a 22mm Planet Ocean rubber strap. (PS There was supposed to be a poll attached to this, but it didn't, for some reason... )
  2. Is there a sick-bag smiley?! Only kidding.. Have a nice one when it comes, folks!
  3. I don't think anyone has reported trying it, so you won't know until you do. It may fit and it may not. Keep in mind though that blatant copy movements can and often do have subtle changes in the dimensions of some parts that may preclude swapping them with genuine items eg. the latest Asia 7750 clone can have its datewheel interchanged with one designed for the Valjoux equivalent, but the hands are not interchangeable. The other issue is it may be tricky to remove the power reserve module in order to gain access to the datewheel.
  4. (BTW I didn't put this guy up to it...)
  5. Don't have any! Bah, Humbug....
  6. To me the weakest aspect of the Silix latest PO is the pearl. It looks exactly the same as the (too fat and proud) pearl we first saw on the 45mm Asian PO way way back in March, which remained unchanged until the Seamaster Chrono appeared with something almost identical to genuine which the 'ultimate' PO adopted shortly afterwards. It was the deal killer for me, and I bought elsewhere, although I suspect the pictures published by Silix currently are not of their latest product....
  7. I'm down a couple on my collection at the moment. Might go for this.... Or perhaps the Roley Day Date my wife bought me
  8. I seem to recall a lot of people got very excited about it at the time. The problem, of course, being that if you tried to regulate the movement the regulator arm extension (which was glued to the balance assembly and locked in place by the faux swan-neck and screw) would break off.
  9. I don't know what the laws are in your area, but here as long as you give the company two formal notices that the goods are not yours and you didn't request them, and that they are available for collection (at their expense) and will be sold if they aren't collected by a specified time, then they become yours!
  10. That's a blast from the past. Non functioning swan neck regulator that was being grafted on to the fiddy reps about a year ago. Looks crap because it was crap. I think there was even a review of this movement over on old RWG (possibly by The Zigmeister). Movement itself was passable and exceptional in that 'Panerai' was engraved on the bridges rather than stuck on. Shame about the spelling mistake...
  11. I was sure I'd mentioned that before here and here. Plus, I'm pretty sure the dealer changes his watch for a Constellation also in the last casino scene (which is supposed to be the following day).
  12. Along with a message saying 'pictures to be updated'.
  13. Is FM part of the Swatch group?!
  14. That's what I thought it was. A scene from the trailer that was cut from the final movie had a close-up of the villain tearing a playing card in half, and I'm certain he was wearing an FM in that.
  15. I didn't!! I was paying attention too!! Which scene was that?

Want me to ask him when I see him tomorrow??!!
  17. Yeah. There's one tomorrow at a secret location in Byres Road in Glasgow... OK, so it ain't that secret.
  18. My wife says the rampant rabbit makes her happy.... Oh, you said watch.....!
  19. See You, Jimmy hats?!
  20. Chronometre is correct for both, so in that respect the Chrono Avenger is more accurate, but then the current versions of it have a woeful pearl, incorrect '4' on the bezel and lack of deep AR coating, so it's all swings and roundabouts....
  21. The watch is actually constructed of a Titanium alloy which darkens/oxidises somewhat with exposure to the atmosphere. The genuine item does this too....
  22. Indeed. The Chrono Avenger says that too. The problem is the '300m' which, for the Seawolf, is incorrect.
  23. I returned to Paris this year for the first time in 10 years. Didn't take a lot of pictures, but here's one of the few...
  24. Exactly. It is the difference between a replica and a look-a-like. The TAG (and 2892 SMP and Seawolf....) watches are to all intents and purposes the same watch made in an unofficial factory. The best reps come and go while the dross rolls along getting slightly better each time....
