Good move Andy.
Let's be fair thus
I assume Barcelona would be the easiest ...if you want to swim!
-
Berlin is leading and Malmö is second...
What a race guys
-
@ Modelizer: I fly with Star Alliance for the same rate (Brussels Airline) so that is fine.
But, some of us are in nothern EU and some are in southern EU; not everybody have cheap flights to Copenhague and some won't probably want to come.
So, as Andy says, let's put an end date to this poll and then we'll take it from there
-
Any one got any tips on flights from germany to sweden, i just looked and got one hell of a shock, almost 1K!
Same here if travelling by plane!
No direct connection either: Bru-Copenhagen-Malmö (train).
And guys, if you are based in Stockholm (instead of Malmö maybe), Berlin, Madrid or Barcelona, let us know if you can host the afternoon drinks.
In Malmö we have the one and only Modelizer ...but who could help elsewhere?
For Malmö from Copenhague, pls check this...http://goscandinavia.about.com/od/gettingfromcitytocity/qt/copenhagenmalmo.htm
Edit to add: Andy and others, maybe rent a car at Copenhague Airport is a cheaper solution than the train wich is around 170$ for 2...to be checked if Malmö is the winner
-
Looks like it is going to be seriously difficult to make a decision
But, let's keep in mind that we will have more GTGs in the future...so every destination will be covered anyway.
Right now, I see Berlin is the leader
-
We're in different cities Stephane. Both on the west coast but Concepta is more up north. But since I don't want to out anybody, I leave it up to Concepta to reveal his location himself..
Ok, I see!
-
Hello All,
I am in for any location as you already figured!
I won't vote thus.
As Andy said, we need to consider the best place to be the one where a member can "handle it locally".
The average number of attendees is 20 to 25...
The schedule was usually: - saturday afternoon drinks - saturday evening restaurant
Some arrive on the friday, some on the saturday and all leave on the sunday.
This means that there is a possibility to even meet on the friday evening and to do some tourism over the week-end.
@ Concepta and Modelizer: please let us know if both of you are "Malmo" or, when Sweden is suggested, if there are different cities...
All the best and Viva the 4th EU official GTG!
Cheers
Stephane

Freddy: what a great photo!
MjMj: what a great watch!
I finally could make it: take my 16610 off!
So here is what I wear since yesterday.

What is obvious is that it's hard to tell if a Rolex is gen or not these days.
Reading the comments here from very valuable Rolex lovers, the opinion goes from gen to MBW
As I trust our community's opinions more than any other's, I'm stating: who knows and can be sure at 100%?
Now, good point for sure, is that none of us would erase a serial on a base rep, franken or genuine!
-
Oh yeah, BB is fantastic. I'm at S02E09 now.
SO is Dexter. Probably the most wanted in my books...can't wait for the new season
-
Crown looks okay to me.
Stephane- What s/n range was yours?
540XXX Ubi!
Of course, crowns can be changed as dials and so on.
But again, the entire watch looks bizarre to me.
An old crown/New bracelet: than can happen too...but, but, but!
-
Hmmm, I've been away from these quizz to long to make an assumption...
But...
It's not the dial that's bothering me...it's the entire watch.
I've owned a great example of the 1680 (white) and allthough I couldn't say why, this one doesn't feel legit to me.
Maybe assembled from bits and pieces, who knows, specially the crown.
Here is what mine was looking like (with papers by the way)
-
Fantastic Milestone Andy
I thank you myself.
For having the chance to meet a true gentleman, you.
For the time you dedicate to me and this place.
For the efforts you put in those great GTGs we shared with you.
I sincerely wish you all the best with the new carrier and congratulate you for the previous one.
Stay as you are!
Warm regards,
Stephane
-
Stunning addition Bobby.
Now that is a 1680 I like very much.
Can't wait for mine to be finished...
Oh, and yes, add some dw for me aswell
-
Nice one Stephane!
Thank you...yours isn't bad either

Josh/ perfect-clone is fraud! If you want to lose money, choose him.
I'm sorry mate but this is not the official language of RWG.
Mine is french, but I still post in english.
Can you please use english and translate what you said in german?
Specialy when you accuse somebody of being "fraud"
Thanks.

JlC still

@ Ubi....are you a Rolexfan?
Those shells...will recognize them anytime, remembers me of good times at Stefanes in Brussels
Ubi, a Rolex fan ? Naahhh
That was a shock Capice...I mean our first GTG.
God I was stressed like if I met a group of Playboy Centerfold Girls
From time to time, I'll wander off and try some other brands... AP, PP, IWC... Sometimes Omega or Panerai... But I always come back to vintage Rolex!
I know what you mean Ubi and can't agree more.
I've owned quite a number of other brands models...nothing beats a 1665!
After having sold them all, can't wait to have my "new" 1665 & 1680 back from Tribal.
Only few parts left and we're done. Yiiipeeee
@ Lhooq: what a fantastic 1016 picture in that water ! Love it.
Ah, Kurt, that isn't bad either
-
Congrats Andei.
That is a great story and a splendid watch.
Super work for sure
Nothing beats vintage Rolex

The Polaris is still one of my dream watches!
+1 here.
I doubt they will replicate it and if they do, I'm sure it will have too many flaws.
So, I don't know for you, but that one being my dream watch too, I will start to save money and hope I can buy it before I'm 80
I can't imagine ending my life without wearing these incredibly great hands and indexes
