  2. Fakes Are Getting A Serious Problem!

    Not Fake watches, but Fake Hardware. I've been trying for soo long to get a hold of a GENUINE Sony Memory Stick Pro DUO 2GB or 4GB for the past month, but it seems IMPOSSIBLE!

    All sellers assured me that their product was genuine. Well it was not, it was never!

    I started by NOT buying from sellers from the far east, because I do not trust those (I didnt even know there were fakes existing at that time!) I bought from a UK seller. I got the stick, but I was disapointed, the writing speed was awfully slow. Instead of the 80mbit/s I got like 30. The next stick I bought was from a german seller, he promised that his product was genuine (because I found out on the net that there were fake Memory Sticks). The one I got from that seller did not have 2GB it had only 1GB, even though it said 2GB on it.

    Then I bought one at a STORE (something like BestBuy). That stick was also FAKE.

    It's drivin me nuts! Why is it not possible to get the real deal anymore? I just want a f&§$ing 2GB Memory Stick that WORKS and has full 2GB and 80mbit/s.

    This really pisses me off, because 99% of all the Memory Sticks available are fakes and you cant get the real deal anymore. Whats next? I find out my iPod is a cheap fake? Chinese really have to stop this, this is really going to far, if you ask me! Even the stores at the mall only have fake stock. What would you say if your Rolex AD only had Fake Rolexes with asian 21j auto movements?

    PS I hope the x-mas theme doesnt last till next summer, if you know what I'm sayin ;)

    btw. be careful with selling this "aftermarket" stuff. I once sold a rolex bracelet on ebay, called it aftermarket, and my auction was pulled by GAF and I got threatening letters, telling me that all aftermarket stuff is considered FAKE.

    GAF has the right to cancel every auction they wish!

    This forum is about watches. Period. I have extensive knowledge of haute horology, as a well seasoned collector. I probably know more about brands like AP, Breguet, Blancpain, JLC, Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, A. Lange and Sohne, and independents than people combined (except Randy for AP).

    Since you are so knowledgebale about all those watchbrands, I probably do not have to remind you, that its actually called Lange und Söhne and not Lange and Sohne ;)

    I wouldn't bother with those in the auction at all. Especially at $48.00. A big waste of money...

    When I get gen crowns in bulk, I'll sell them for anywhere from $18 - $25 per (depending on how large the lot is). You can get a good, high quality aftermarket tube for $25. So, $25 for the crown and $25 for the tube... You're right at the same price and with a genuine crown.

    That, to me is a better buy :)

    wow, thats a hell of a deal! I paid a lot more

    I find myself frequenting and posting on this forum less and less because of some of the avatars and sigs. I just don't feel it is a necessary part of a watch forum. Every month I pay my membership I wonder why I continue to support a site that allows porn to be linked to watches...be it soft porn, hard porn or pictures items of a general sexual nature. Some offend me, some I just find in poor taste. There are times I can't help but wonder why I am part of a community where some of the members obviously have very little respect for women.

    Posting an avatar with one woman's hand on another woman's genitals is classless. A way to express yourself? Please. :yucky: :blink: How about expressing yourself through your posts rather than a girl's crotch?

    Just because someone likes porn and womens ass, doesnt mean he has very little repect for women in general, please keep this in mind! I love girls ass, but the repect I have for a person depends on his character and how he behaves when interacting with me, and not his gender!

    Yeah, I sort of wondered about that myself (for obvious reasons), but then I thought it's not what you find on the internet at work that's wrong, it the principle of using the internet--period--at work that's wrong. No offence, ciborgman. :D

    On another board I was actually asked to remove my sig & avatar because someone didn't want their "kids seeing it while they were surfing the net on their laptop in the living room while the little ones watched TV"... I'm not even to go into the rebuttle for that kind of stupidity. You can see Adriana Lima's tight little ass in booty-shorts in Victoria's Secrets ads on CNN.com's splash-page for Christ's sake.

    I'm quite liberal when it comes to sex stuff and how girls dress, but I would not want my wife or my kids to see your avartar. Because I know what I would think If I saw this on someones laptop screen!

    Noone would think that this someone is browsing through a watch forum.

    Wouldnt you feel awkward when your kid comes into the living room and sees you watching a movie. And just in the very moment your wife enters, there is a couple shown while having sex. "She would probably think WTF is he watching???"

    Interesting stuff. Regarding gevril, it is actually an automatic ETA 2824, I think, coupled with dubois depraz unit on top of it. It possibly has the same subdial spacing (if he used a real dial???) and uses asymmetric pushers (they look that way on his photo). Quite an interesting idea how to build a 6263. The only thing I remember would spoil it is 20mm lug spacing. May be something else too?

    I heared that poljot movements are copy movements of valjoux movements. Maybe Poljot has a movement that has the same subdial spacing as a VJ23 or VJ72?

    Poljots can be had for 50-60$ and are as reliable as genuine valjoux.

    and I highly doubt the dubois depraz chrono module has the same subdial spacing as a VJ72/23, even if it has, its probably too large for a 6263
