  1. I have dealth with him several times on various goods (watch, handbags and clothing). Each time he actually has been very reliable. I received everything as described. Once there was a delay, and he offered me a discount on my next purchase. He also gave a gift each time (pen or tie). Now I have not bought anything from him since earlier in the year (but then I have not bought from anybody else during this time - taking time off from reps), but I would still put him as one of my prefered dealers. He may increase the price, but that has always been for the use of PP (a bonus for me).
  2. Heheheheh, personally, I think it will go nowhere . Then again I have an iphone, so maybe I'm being bias ;-). Now, Google is working on a new phone and initial word is that that may be a killer.
  3. Good point psuedo-enzo, I dont write much anymore (mostly read), but I wanted to say that your reply was done well. This really is an important thread imo as stated. I am here because of my hobby first and formost. Making friends is a pleasure but being aware/informed of the going ons so that I can make a better judgement in this hobby is invaluable.
  4. Seriously, crap to the $800 asian movement on on a chrono no less. I'll save the money towards getting a gen/used Pan or GP or Rolex. They can keep the rep that will likely become an expensive piece of metal crap once the movement dies.
  5. Same here. Love the Iphone, and use the web to navigate. Sometimes the Edge network is slow, but hey its better than not having access at all when there is no wi-fi signal.
  6. Crap, I decided to spend my money on a iphone instead! and am very happy as I look at it everyday along with my gen watches. The latest being a gen Corum chrono that I got for about a $1k, a 60% discount. Yeah, I feel good; no cheap asian movement with quality issues for $800 here baby;-). I will keep my MBW 1665 with swiss movement and next will be a MBW patek (swiss) or MBW AP ROO - all more reliable, better QC, as accurate and CHEAPER than the HBB nonsense.
  7. ABP is my favorite too. The price/quality ratio is the best imo. They are a favorite for my GP Seahawk and the folks over at teh GP forum at TZ site.
  8. Late to the game, but wanted to give credit to where its due...thanks The Zigmeister. Actual anaysis by a trusted source is all that I needed here to keep me happy that I held my money.
  9. Isn't the "B" in Hublot too high/out of place on the back of the watch? Another reason I too am waiting for a better price. Love the watch but too much for stick on letters imo.
  10. Great watch, very clean lines, and wonderful pics from TTK .
  11. Its started for me. Have been away for awhile, not really ready for more rep watches at the moment, knew Ryyannon was here...so I thought I would pop in. Hey, long time reader, first time poser? Wish I had something better to do;-).
  12. I started this hobby only this year. Uptil then I had a second hand 10yr old+ rollie datejust. Then the bug hit me and I now have 3 more gens (a GP Seahawk, a Corum chrono, and a Chopard). I had myself 4 reps, but like mentioned by others, I wanted quality/accuracy to quantty. So I sold all but my MBW DRSD which is slightly modded (more to be done later). I am also looking into the 008.
  13. That is a weak point, but it varies as larger writs fit more comfortably (from what I have read). I still think, as mentioned, the weakest is the lack of engraving on the back movement, where stickers are used instead.
  14. I have interest in these watches again. It seems that there are more reps of these coming out that are a much better quality (seems to be built like the super reps). I know that TWP over at the DS has some now. Not sure how accurate, but based on some online clips they look real nice.
  15. Great informative thread. I was a bit worried but feel better now, considering I opted for the Clark version instead of trying to source a gen as money saved is money earned.
  16. These super reps, like the HBB, all seem to have several issues. I too will wait based on your reviews. Very much appreciated. Lets see if the QC improves, personally I doubt it will happen soon.
  17. Not part of the GB, but wanted to comment that this is exactly why I continue the be thankful of RWG: 1) great dealer (I have always said: its what happens after a sale that sets a really good dealer apart) 2) great community. The responses so far to Sash's options have to be comforting to him. Great group here.
  18. Anything with a non chrono reliable movement.
  19. Good catch on the Granturismo. That is the one I wanted, but, if you are correct (not doubting you) I may stay away from it in favor of ones with the fewer flaws. As I have not been to the AD to see this personally, any one can verify if this is the case? Unfortunte if true as these semed to be easily fixed flaws.
  20. Very nice Flavor Flav. You do some sharp work. A plus is that you are in the same state as me, cool for future mods .
  21. Try also giving Flavor Flav or Vacuum (I think he is in the CONUS?) a pm. They both should be in the CONUS.
  22. Let the healing begin, I like both sites, and as TKK pointed out, they both serve their purpose.
  23. Nice pic. Waiting on the Grandtorismo siblings to show up, especially the chrono.
