Can you show what you mean? Possibly you have the old clasp with "International Watch Co." on it? Correct is the new version with "IWC Schaffhausen" on it. The old version isn't sold anymore. And I bet you cannot notice or show the differences between a BP rep clasp and a gen clasp because this is really hard. P.S.: ask user rolojack in this forum, he sourced some high end BP rep clasps - if you cannot live with the "normal" rep clasp. And I never said the rep strap is good. It is crap. Choose a gen strap which is still unbeaten by every strapmaker's strap.
-
Every AD sells you a gen strap. But careful, it is expensive (500-600$). Without the clasp, which costs additional 400$. The quality of the gen strap is unbeaten by any strap maker. Also the price... Buying a gen clasp nearly makes no sense because the quality of the rep is very good. Only an expert can see the differences between rep and gen clasp. IMHO Peter.Watchacc has the best aftermarket BP straps, followed by HKTan and Jacob Straps.

www.scotchwatch.com Expensive, but one of the last sources.

I'm quiet sure Daytona will never sell this watch... So asking for price is useless. ;-)

Yes, you miss a case opener... SCNR. Much better than a ball opener. But be careful not to scratch the case back.

Thanks for the pictures. Still a poor solution. The result will always be a recessed date wheel. Not my watch, sorry. Gesendet von meinem iPad mit Tapatalk

This is in fact a 5002, but a gen. The 5002 has the cipher 9 on dial, the 5004 doesn't have the 9. The PR index is complete white colored (partly red on 5004) and the DAYS is centered between the index ring (reads like DAYSI on 5004 because of wrong centering). Only the versions with FAUX PR have the correct position of the PR subdial (the working PR has a wrong position too near to the center of the dial), they don't have a recessed date wheel (the working PR causes the recessed date) and only the versions with faux PR don't have a pusher at the left case side for date quickchange. This pusher is complete crap, no gen IWC BP has such a pusher. You should open the watch and move the PR hand the small way towards full (carefull move it with a toothpic) pointing to the end of the index ring between the 7 and DAYS. A gen IWC BP shows "full wound" like this after a short time of wearing. So the faux PR is no real "flaw". Give a very, very small drop of oil to the bearing of the rotor to calm the noisy rotor. The 5002 is the more "historical" watch IMHO. The dial is a direct swap against a gen dial for easy franken the watch. Last not least: the 5002 rep has the correct case back design, the 5004 rep doesn't have a correct case back design. Maybe I'm nitpicky, but I won't buy a rep with a wrong case back. Here a link to Puretime and the correct, actual version of the 5002: Pure-Time. The 5002 with faux PR is an "almost super-rep". To complete it franken it with gen dial, gen crown, relume of hands, gen strap and gen folding clasp (possibly new AR or gen crystal) - expensive but brilliant!

No fear about the 7750 in both watches. It has the seconds subdial at 9 and so no problem like with the modded 7750 inside the 3714. The 3799 is the watch I would prefer - if the makers could build a real split second movement. So it is a faux split second and I think the 3789 is the better one. Just look for the version with the real ceramic case. A better aftermarket strap - or possibly a gen strap - and some color corrections to the Top Gun logo at the side - a new super rep is born! I wouldn't buy the ETA (swiss movement) version at a TD because it's overpriced. Buy the A7750 version and look for an ETA7750 on eBay. The normal price is about $250-$300. And it's an easy swap for your watch smith, possibly some corrections a the stems or the holes of the hands, the rest will fit without any problems.

Yes, but he explicit asked for LPV Bespoke Leather. Peter is OK, Jacob in Spain is OK, Jose Maria in Spain is also OK, HKTan in Asia is OK. There are many good strap makers.

Here is his Flickr stream. Peter.acc is wrong

Actual best oob is the 3777 Pilot Chrono. Rumors say it's the Ingenieur Laureus, but this watch isn't in stock anymore. The easiest to franken is the 5002 Big Pilot with faux PR. Many gen dials are available on eBay for $150 - $200. The full PR mod can be done yourself. Together with a gen pilot strap (expensive!) and a gen clasp (very expensive!) and a possible re-lume of the hands this watch is a super rep/franken.

That will be a hard search! I think there are no gen IWC parts available at the moment because of hard restrictions on selling gen parts. But good luck! If you find a source and would like to share - I'm very interested!

The 7750 has also big problems with the sec@6 in this watch. It's risky. But he big flaws: date window at wrong position, date wheel wrong color and recessed, subdial background circles too thick - sorry, not my watch!

Ah, ok, from Toro. He is a TD in other forums. Sorry to hear that, I hoped to find a store with good watches in NL. ;-)

Sorry to say this is a "Mark XVII" and not a Spitfire. But nice watch! Any infos about this site and where in the netherlands the shop is located? I'm from deep western germany and the netherlands border is just 5km away from my home...

$300 seems a lot? Not really.
-
The hands look relumed also. Sorry mate, I would value it between 200 - 250$. A lot work to do...

No, not YOU, that was depending to a post meanwhile deleted by an admin.

Only 6 posts - and these links in multiple threads. Backdoor selling for NON-TDs.

Update?

Yes, but not everybody likes the Ingenieur. BTW: I can source a nice IWC 80111 for this Ingenieur. Interested?

The 5002 and the 3777 are nearly perfect.
