  1. Can anyone contact Angus (Puretime) via RepGeek? He is collecting user votes for new reps and sending them to the factories. But - to be honest - the date wheels should be blue also...
  2. I'm quiet sure I can source a gen case. But I won't because the 3714 is too small for my wrist. And I'm also quiet sure I can source all gen parts new for below the 1800$ you mentioned. But hey, let's stop this useless discussion. Gesendet von meinem iPad mit Tapatalk
  3. Hi all! I want to show my (nearly) complete project, an almost full Franken IWC 3777. Base is a stock rep of the HBB-6 factory. It has a custom made BP style strap made from genuine alligator, coloured light grey with blue stitch and made by the fantastic strap maker Jacob Ramirez in Spain. The clasp is still rep. Franken status now: gen dial, all hands gen, gen crown, gen 79320 movement. The pushers are rep and fixed by Loctite. The datewheels are rep because I can't see any difference to the gen wheels. The next and last 2 steps will be: a crystal with Sunnydale (special) AR or possibly a gen crystal. A gen BP clasp and/or a gen croco strap with gen buckle. I think a gen BP strap is not possible because IWC does not offer BP straps with 21mm at the lugs. Here are some detailed pics, just click to enlarge: Here are some older pics to show the strap (not yet complete franken the watch):
  4. Gen? Or a miracle?
  5. But only a maintanance does not solve the sec@6-issue... The watchsmith has to build in 3 additional bearing jewels - and the problem is fixed. Domi did this for a while and he asked 250€ for that. Why choose a complete Genenstein? 3k is too much for this! 300 the watch, 700 the movement, 170 the dial, 150 the hands. And some dollars for a gen case and a gen crystal if you really are unhappy with the case. Something below 1800$ I think.
  6. Great watch! Take it! Just change the strap and it is a killer! Which TD?
  7. Looks very good. I see: the rep fonts are too bold, the frame of the rep hands aren't so much embossed, what about the colour of the chromo seconds hand? Should it be white or metal? The small misalignment of the day date wheel can be corrected. And I hope the "Antoine-A" is embossed enough to be close to the gen... Change the crown to gen Pilot chrono crown (costs about 30-40$). Any pics of the case back?
  8. No, a swiss 7750 has the running seconds @9. That's the problem. Only a gen 79350 (hard to source) with the correct IWC "sec@6-module" (be careful, there are many 79350 sold on ebay without this module!) would work. And sure, the dealers promise a better movement... Let's call it "marketing". ;-)
  9. No, the sec@6 problem isn't fixed by the 29-jewel version. Actually there are only 2 good fixes: Domi's "additional jewels fix" (which he does not offer anymore) or a gen 79350 movement. The chinese "watch makers" kept it a little bit easy on modding the A7750 movement and transmitting the running second from 9 to 6. They build in 5 additional gears, but these gears don't have a jewel bearing. So many of the power is lost by friction of gears laying complete plain on a watch plate... A time bomb. It may work for years, but also only for hours. Also these friction problems can be seen if you look at the running second, it sometimes seems to stop or run slower, not continuos and smooth.
  10. Really? I'm always unsure, I would like to franken my 5002 with a gen dial, but then I'm afraid I can't see the difference! OK, the prices for a gen 5002 dial aren't so high anymore, 150€ is the normal price.
  11. Here a picture of a gen to compare. The lume is much more blueish than the rep seems to be on the pics. The dial is pure black. And have a look at the rehaut and the little "ring" at the rep. I can't see it at the gen. But: you won't find another version of the rep actual. So take it or drop it.
  12. Yes the 3714 is my next franken project! But I think the only solution for the sec@6 problem is a gen movement. OK, not impossible, only expensive... Gesendet von meinem iPad mit Tapatalk
  13. Yes it's a nice watch. I thought you dropped or deleted your question...
  14. Mine is a custom made strap for BP clasp fitting to the lugs of the 3777 (21mm). I ordered it from Jacob Ramirez, just contact him, he knows the dimensions for a BP-style strap for the 3777. Your problem is the clasp - why didn't you order it together with the 3777? I did this at InTime.co/Ryan and the clasp was 25$. Contact your TD and try to add on a BP folding clasp.
  15. Jacob is one of the best strapmakers of the world. For me he IS indeed the best...
  16. A bit more expensive than the rep you posted, but if you like "Baumuster A" - here is a gen! Yes Laco was one of the 5 manufacturers allowed to produce and deliver the official "Fliegeruhr" to the german air force. This watch is 45mm and handwind movement. There is also an automatic version for the same price. Look at the caseback with the authentic engraving and look at the back end of seconds hand... typical Laco and a very cool detail.
  17. This combo with the HKTan strap - one of the most beautiful watches I've ever seen! @BadSamaritan: I think this dealer is a very high risk! Look for a member sale of this watch. Or post a "want to buy".
  18. Good hint Fixen!
  19. Possibly the sec@6 don't like being stopped and work fine if constantly wound up by a watch winder?
  20. Then better buy a Swatch or a Casio... A Portuguese with quartz... brrrr!
  21. Looks like a QC pic from Ryan/Intime.co...
  22. Ok. And now? What do you want to tell us? Nice pics from the IWC site.
  23. Yes. You have to do the mod and fix the pusher stems from inside with thread lock like Loctite. Otherwise sooner or later one or both of the pushers are gone. Even if you are lucky and find the fallen pusher again - the spring will be lost to 99,99% because it is very hard to see and find.
  24. Possibly, but I won't pay that much just for a case. The most difficult part of a rep to see a difference to the gen. Normally uninteresting, but possibly someone wants to build a complete franken.
  25. You can get this from every TD, e.g. from InTime.co (Ryan) or Pureti.me (Angus). Hera a link to the correct version because there are many versions which might confuse you. You can also send this link to Ryan/InTime and he'll get the same watch for you. The rest: I'll send you a PN.
