That would be the logical thing to do! I was just curious if anyone here had actually done just that. Obviously not all watches are the same...but it would give me some confidence before taking the rep for a test. (at a watch repairer) It would be embarrasing if this "$5k Breitling" failed though! lol A well known seller of the v2 states a 50m resist on the sales blurb...
-
Granted, but a pusher doesnt have to be screwed to be water resistant.... ...i didnt mention water proof...
-
Ok so most of the dealers state this as "water resistant", but how much? Has anyone pressure tested one straight out of the box? Or took it swimming in the pool? I'd like to know.... cheers

What a thread! Some brilliant views of other peoples' Breitlings, Yay! I'd been waiting for my Skyland to arrive before contributing with my Breitling collection. Mostly reps, with several gens thrown into the mix. I didn't take individual pics as I would spent all night doing it! Not to mention that I'm quite lazy when it comes to taking pics, as you will see.... First up - the Group shot, I think there's about 17 in here!! The Navitimer selection; 2 gens, plus 2 reps fitted with gen dials. There's also the Fighters Edition (white) and the Seagull powered 50th Anniversary, both of which are suitably modded... The Aeromarine selection; 2 rep Chrono Avengers cos I liked them so much, but then I came across a gen Chrono Avenger for sale which I couldn't resist. Refreshed with a new titanium Pro II bracelet. The 2 SuperOceans (asian 21j) plus the Skyland (v2) complete the line up. Lastly, the Windrider series consisting of the Blackbird - beautiful but flawed and the Chronomat Evolution (v1). Then there's the Bentley GT (in need of AR treatment) and finally, a "fun" piece from the Professional series; the fabulously inaccurate Emergency! Sometimes I think that I should just get rid of all my other rep watches, Panerai, Omega, Bell & Ross, Rolex etc., since I just keep going back to Breitling on a daily basis!!

Springbars are the only way to get the end links off - if the end links were fitted to a very tight tolerance - it could be the reason why it wont budge
-
I'll admit, I'm guessing! LOL but logic would suggest that its printed directly onto the DW - as I doubt that "someone - somewhere" would do a perfect job everytime in applying such a decal?
-
Yes, for the Breitling font - in theory the rep DW should go straight into the ETA no probs - though I dont think anyone has measured the thicknesses of the 2 yet???
-
I'd imagine that the majority of V1's will sell just as easily on the likes of iOffer and CQOut
-
Well if he's reading this, I hope that Chapter ring colour will get sorted out - i cant even see the red numbers on the photos This could be on my list
-
Yes it seems that the bezel screws vary from one model to another; my SuperOcean, the screws are threaded the Blackbird, pressed the BCE, I think they were pressed - as they are so tight with not a (screwdriver) mark on the slotted head - it'd have to be pressed?
-
I sure hope they will too. I hope that it isn't being rushed out too hastily. On a good note...... this is $10 cheaper!!
-
The pearl IS better, it has its own "bezel". Re: the lume dot @ 3 Angus does state though, that the one pictured will be improved upon....? Edit: I have another point or two in the interests of Quality control The grey dial hands need to match the dial (as with the blue) The tang buckle, the stamping of the Wings logo looks worse than the previous version buckle. This would need to be sharpened up if any straps were to be sold? Please???
-
Hooray! Our prayers have been answered!! lol The grey one looks good, though on the blue one, there is a colour mismatch on the main hands. Not being picky, just an observation! ...and "ALL parts interchangeable with the original"
-
I take it that J said a bit more than what you have shown us then?! Thanks for the info, Andreww and everyone else... its nice to make an informed decision before pulling the trigger. This Super Rep along with the BCE are surely the best that we Breitling fans have had; and to be picky about the tiny details is like a slap in the face for all the hard work that the Makers have put into it. I was gonna get the Skyland anyway (even though I have a gen Chrono Avenger), and to be honest, the half lume dot isn't a deal breaker for me, as I know its a rep and I would never expect gen-like performance from it. EDIT: I have to add - this is still a FUN hobby.... isn't it?!!
-
Here's a "smaller" SOH http://www.timeshops.net/Breitling_SuperOc...k__1776-852.htm but is there a typo?!!
-
I think the problem is the same as with the rep Navitimers: The rep dial is slightly smaller than the genuine. Aswell as the Navi, the other known smaller rep dial is the Bentley GT - apparent from the slightly larger than gen slide rule bezel, and the condensed inner slide rule text (on the dial). So when the rep Skyland was made, the outside diameter of the dial forced the lume dot closer in. Which is also evident on the 9 o'clock marker; it is slightly closer to the subdial. Maybe this has already been mentioned.... a recurring "tell" exists, that came with the old rep Chrono Avenger; the lume dots are more bulbous than the genuine lume dots. As someone said, no-one except a viewer of these forums would spot it from an arms length away. I think the Skyland rep looks great from the photos, a MASSIVE improvement over its predecessor, the v2 Chrono Avenger. I just hope that the Skyland will have the semi-circle guilloche present. Maybe then I'll be making an order too!

Any news on this project??
-
OK, thanks for the comments Am i right in thinking that the main Visual difference between the 46mm ETA powered SOH and the 46mm Asian is: The ETA datefont is a bit bolder??
-
No, I've not tried the 46...I havent seen it in the ADs yet. But 46mm is across the case isnt it? Thats like....a BR01!
-
Will they ever make it? The 46mm is waaay too big for me, and possibly most people. So why didnt they make the smaller one to start with??
-
WOW!! Lovely work!!!

For the record, my Chopard GMT a7750 is dead

You're welcome Yes I'm in UK and I've ordered from Silix in the past. What is it that you need to know? I had a flawless experience, so in that respect. No problems at all.
