I and many others have reiterated this before: IF the mod is successful, you will still be left with an inaccurate date font for the Breitling. You can't use an ETA 7753 or a Breitling cal.23 datewheel, because it isn't the same size as the asian 7750 date wheel ( the swiss 7753/cal.23 date wheel is slightly wider). Unless, as you say, the top plate was machined with a recess to accomodate the bigger wheel. So after all the hard work, you could still be left frustrated. Until someone comes up with the correct font...

Speedmaster moon watch saphire to plexy conversion
importr replied to FxrAndy's topic in The Omega Area
I used to have a gen MoonWatch, and I think you are damn close if not already there in terms of the correct dome! -
true confessions...how many Breits in your collection?
importr replied to hackR's topic in The Breitling Area
I'm almost embarrassed to say, a LOT. a7750 2 skylands, grey & blue BCE ultimate, blue gen dial Bentley GT, black 2 Navitimers, one silver, one gen blue dial SOH Chrono, black Blackbird 2 Chrono Avengers, one black, one grey with UTC & gen Breitling cal.13 a21j SOSF, white Seagull/Lemania Navitimer 50 Ann., black other quartz Emergency, coral dial 13 Breitling reps, and 5 Breitling gens oh dear..... -
considering an attempt to modify the 7753 version of a7750
importr replied to knmwt15000's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
By modding an already heavily modified movement, this could equate to something as reliable as a chocolate fireguard.. ?? -
That looks very good! The amount of AR blue tint on the dealer pics was making me a lttle apprehensive....but it seems ok on yours I can't wait to get mine! I was at the AD yesterday, they had the previous Carrera and the new Carrera DD side by side, the DD looks significantly bigger. Strangely, no ADs seem to have the genuine white dial version yet! Hmmmmm btw, D/nrg.....what size is the strap at the lugs, please?

This sounds like one of the bad batch of V2's? Some of the a7750s installed in SuperAvenger's and Skylands were a bit....crap. In your case, it sems like the levers are jammed. I'm not sure if I'd even bother to get it fixed. Send it back again. The QC should have been done on this

I'll hang on for the White dial version....and then I'll be putting an (already sourced) ETA 7750 in it

What do you peeps think of this? To celebrate the Vancouver games, Omega will release this special edition SMP. The differences being the white dial and a red bezel. The caseback has the games' logo aswell as the olympic logo. Is this something that would sell, or is it just another Colamariner style marketing excess? http://www.fhs.hk/Current/omega_vancouver_en.htm

Dont mean to thread crap, but my RS2 is ok... (excuse the poor colour balance)

You're going to Basel?? Dang, I wanted to go, but all flights (from near me) are sold out On second thoughts about the bezel font...does it cheapen the look? Like, in an effort to make it appeal to the TAG owners, is it a risky change. A change for changes sake????
-
Also, the Date font. Do you think it is a deliberate "dummy" to throw off the reppers? So the actual production model comes out with the traditional B'ling font?
-
Whoooooaaarrrr!! I'm getting hard!! I'm gettin hard!!!! looks lovely, I like the sub dial details and the central Breitling texts etc., but although the bezel design & font is uber-cool, the bezel itself it all but useless as a timing feature!

Navitimer Serie Speciale - is Trusty selling an old version?
importr replied to jojo90's topic in The Breitling Area
Thats what I thought (about the tricompax switch); but it turns out that the tricompax is slightly thicker than the normal 7750 due to the extra gears. So believe it or not, the crown and pushers of the tricompax case are slightly lower (further back from the dial) than the 6,9,12 7750 case! Which would lead to the dial sitting too low or too high in the case. In short, its best to buy the correct dial configuration Navi rep for whatever mod you would intend to carry out. -
New Movement: Compact Subdial Spaced 7750?
importr replied to Mickey Padge's topic in General Discussion
Not as simple as that, i'm afraid. the tricompax asian 7750 datewheel sits underneath 1 or 2 transfer gears -
Yes and No to that one. My gen 42mm PO has PROFESSIONAL on the clasp, although Ofrei has the gen bracelet listed without the wording. So maybe over time, Omega decided that the 42 was worthy of the PRO title??!

It seems to me that the post was not meant to cause offence... ..but more of a sideways method of saying "that is a pic of a rep"

New Movement: Compact Subdial Spaced 7750?
importr replied to Mickey Padge's topic in General Discussion
So this could mean that there could be better reps of TAG Heuer Monaco Navitimer 50th Anniversary - in fact, I will donate my gen 50th Anniv. dial for repping! I like the look of this PO-Chrono -
Super Avenger and Evolution bezels questions
importr replied to Defender110's topic in The Breitling Area
Yes, I've installed a genuine Evo dial and chapter ring in a v3 BCE - went in easy -
Just another BCE v3 to tempt you! I mean...nearly everyones' got/had an SMP....right? was this

I had a chat to one of our rep suppliers, he said that he wouldn't recommend using the phone (due to its questionalbe quality at least) and hence will not be offering it for sale
-
the 7750 seconds @6 is too unreliable for a rep costing $500+
-
Looking at Josh's TAG Heuer Meridiist replica phone, it looks like it has the features of an old Nokia. Apart from the rep having a load of obvious flaws compared to the gen... what do you phone experts think, is this rep phone good enough to use against a modern phone? No 3G (none in the gen either). The gen has a mirrored sapphire glass covering the screen... The crazy thing is, a phone manufacturer had to build this rep! Since when did reps of phones exist? Man, I mustn't be keeping up with the rate of change here I think I'll wait for the v2 of this to come out

LOL I love it when a plan comes together! You were lucky to find found a rep-friendly WS; there aren't many good ones about. The first WS I used was dirty and lied about the work he supposedly did. Now (if I can't do the job) I use a different but very good WS, who thinks reps are great!!
