  1. ....hehe what i meant was: you mentioned that the factory may have scrimped here and there to make this a cheap rep? At least I think that is what you said? "In closing.. I am happy with this purchase .. it's made very well although a few flaws can be over looked due to the quality of the work and price.. they are working on getting the price down.." I wanted to know what the flaws were, apart from the dot @ six and what was already mentioned in this thread? cheers
  2. Good review Lani! Its looks like a solid piece , and that clasp looks decent too. However, can you elaborate on what the corners cut were? Was it down to finishing or fit? looking forward to getting mine this week
  3. I'd be very surprised if they even bother to improve this model, look at the critique that the new Aquatimers got...and look where that got us: nowhere. We've put up with much worse flaws in the past and I'm certainly not going to lose sleep over a gnats' whisker of difference here and there. It is after all only a replica of a Sinn!
  4. I've just pulled the trigger on this one! As said, no-one but a WIS would know what this is, but for me, its nice to have a different watch brand in my collection for a change, especially one with a bit of pedigree
  5. another thing....! METERS spelt MTEERS !!! roflmao!!!! wtf?! This just gets better - or should that be "betetr"
  6. .......and the datewheel is supposed to have dots in between the numbers......
  7. I don't have a good Monaco rep anymore, but I do have the gen! The gen Monaco chrono (whether McQueen or std black) dial is made for the calibre 17 which is based on the ETA 3894-2. Its has a narrower sub dial spacing than the Miyota OS20 quartz. If you're referring to the asian auto movt then I dont know - but anyway the spacing of the gen Steve McQueen sub dial centres is 15.5mm across
  8. My latest bunch of TAG Heuers excuse the bad colour balance!
  9. Is this the one its supposed to be? (shamelessly borrowed pic) http://media.photobucket.com/image/chronom...tion120-1-1.jpg
  10. It was the same person who told you!
  11. I was told that no new Omegas are planned for the short term...
  12. Excellent stuff! Let me guess: Bentley GT: AR ETA d/w's gen croc & buckle Evo: gen dial gen bezel? gen bracelet?
  13. LOL! I also noticed another "problem": the serials are "2345678" now, I know serials mean Jack Sh.... but, i would've thought it'd be a little more convincing. So far, the growing list of flaws: wrong sub dials colour on the blue ...the blue and orange shades could also be too light? date wheel colour on the black/yellow wrong shape bezel teeth matte dial instead of part matte/part satin Schaffhausen text alignment shiny PVD coating instead of matte rubberised on the G/Islands silly serial numbering even sillier ANUATIMER spelling on Galapagos Islands caseback the normal Aquatimers, dont have a silver rehaut, it is dial colour
  14. Another reason not to buy one..... Look carefully at the Galapagos caseback (also on Kings site) "ANUATIMER" WTF?! This is a sick joke, right? The normal version seems ok. What is going here?
  15. With reference to the gen, is it possible that a strip of lume is applied across the bezel, and then a thick print of the numerals applied on top? If someone could recreate this print on the rep, so that the bulging is not apparent and the issue would be done away with.
  16. eh?? The Galapagos dials look black to me! lol http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3401/321316..._d8f777e4a1.jpg we are still talking about the G/E aren't we? not the normal Aquatimer
  17. what colour should the sub dials be, if its not black?
  18. The Galapagos rep is out soon: http://www.jpc8118.com/0195-p-6491.html although it looks more like PVD than rubber. IMO, its not a deal breaker (being PVD) as I'd think that a rubber coating would catch on clothes too much...? Its not like I'd wear a rep to go scuba diving...
  19. I bought a black carbon with red stitch from Panatime - 22mm for my RS2; although they have it in 20mm aswell. Forget the deployant http://www.panatime.com/20cafistbl112.html have a look at the other strap choices, you cant go wrong with Panatime!
  20. Yeah i really like the simpler non-chrono, in black too
  21. LOL! I totally overlooked those glaring flaws!! They must be hastily rushed out. I remember Angus used to ask for feedback about new super rep prototypes before they came out, in particular the 2006 Cousteau. REP MAKERS: Please sort this out!!
  22. I think I like both! but we can't be greedy now, can we????! Would be keen to see the bracelet for these... So here's the gen in black http://www.rruegger.ch/images/iwc_aquatime...ograph_dial.jpg quick checklist: the bezel is laminated? yes the dial is raised in the centre? yes but not as sharp as gen satin sheen on dial? NO, the rep is dull hands, shape & length? yes bezel finger grips scalloped/rounded inside? NO the rep is cut square! OK...when is the v2 model due out?! ROFL!! just joking
  23. On Kings site what do we think of them??
  24. Nice one R! You certainly got one helluva grail watch there! Looks great on you!
