  1. Fabulous photos Bazz....now you're just showing off! The watch looks great, like its very well replicated
  2. It sounds like you're looking for the Montbrillant Datora. AFAIK, there aren't any quartz versions of this, only the asian faux chrono auto...and the 7750 auto. Personally i would opt for the 7750 version as it is the most accurate looking/functioning and best quality. Although i heard or read somewhere that these 7750 movements had been unreliable..
  3. that looks really eyecatching, congrats! I suppose the bronze dial would be the more metallic of the 3.... does it wear heavy?
  4. looks like a nicely made rep.....but i have too many similar looking breitlings to bother with this one. The ugly markers at 6 and 9 still put me off!
  5. my blackbird has the same problem.....not as bad, but its there i choose to ignore it generally, and on the days where the number bugs me, i just wear a different watch. When you understand what reps are about, its not worth losing sleep over ;o)
  6. as far as i can remember the bracelet was repped and then offered with the Racing when it was first released nearly 2 years ago?
  7. I also tried to order an SOH with that strap from Silix, about a week ago....not even heard from him so I went elsewhere
  8. Yeah it is far too expensive, for what it is. Even my ETA powered Carrera cost less: Carrera Racing rep $260 (incl. rep rubber & steel straps) brand new regulated Valjoux 7750 $414 brand new genuine TAG rubber straps $100 some other parts (hands set, gasket etc) $35 Total : $809
  9. No, there are tried and tested ways to get a rep watch into most countries. Using FEDEX and UPS are not recommended. If you do get what was advertised, its a great watch - so i hope you enjoy it! ;o)
  10. Cheers IMO, the watch in Titanium is already light enough to wear as a beater. Only the height of the case might get caught on something. All of my Ti watches are very comfortable to wear all day. Could even wear them to go running! Unlike SS watches. Sorry bud, I dont have any digital scales - but the rep feels the same as the gen, which is only 100grams with bracelet!
  11. Hi, what i meant was that the UTC module itself is very well made! Its even got AR on the inside of the glass! What I did notice between the grey and black rep dials is that the concentric circles in the subdial is more noticeable on the grey. Maybe the black dial paint was a bit too thick? I would recommend that you get the glass AR'd...as it spoils the whole Breitling feel without it
  12. I thought there was currently 2 versions of SuperOcean? 1 being the one with painted numerals (the original US Navy issue?) the other being the Steelfish X-Plus? and now we have the current Steelfish with triangular seconds hand has the gen numeral version been discontinued?
  13. Practically every Newman movie I've ever watched has entertained me. A great person indeed, and a great loss to us all. I hope he didn't suffer too much. RIP Paul
  14. ...I just had a look at the Outstanding Orders List How much is all that worth?! jeeeez I'd be very guilty about having so much of other peoples property....without explanation. I hope this gets resolved asap...I'm also glad that I was on holiday and didnt send off my crystals.
  15. Or slightly cheaper here! http://www.rltwatches.co.uk/acatalog/Bracelets.html
  16. I would hasten to add: Do NOT list the contents as a watch as the chances of it being seized by Chinese Customs are very high. The CN based dealers usually recommend that you send it by cheapo registered air mail, as a toy or something insignificant. I sent a Blackbird back to CN and I dont think it made it past Customs because I made the mistake above!
  17. Not sure if you've done a movt swap before, but.... If you havent removed a movt before, you're likely to damage this watch.... ok... this is what I do - but I dont take responsiblity for anything going wrong! 1) Remove bracelet, or at least split at the clasp. 2) Use Bergeon rubber case opener or "Sticky Ball" to remove caseback 3) remove 3 screws and tabs from movt ring (to case) 4) remove winding stem by LIGHTLY pressing stem release button - the only button shaped thing near the stem - less than 1mm diam. 5) with one hand covering the loose movt, turn case over and withdraw movt - taking care not to foul the dial on the chrono pusher rods 6) remove the 4 rider tabs (screwed) - these could be very tight so use a good quality screwdriver, and dont stab yourself or the watch when it slips! lol 7) Use Crystal Press to remove crystal - some crystals are loose enough to be pushed out by hand but getting it back in can be tricky. Hence the crystal press Refit everything in reverse order! HTH to be honest with you - I wouldn't advise that you do this if its your first time. It takes practice and many mistakes to learn to know what you're doing.
  18. ummm its design looks very dated - i think you would get bored of this very quickly...
  19. I think $185 is currently the cheapest! I happen to have ordered another v1 from Peter last week. Waiting for delivery of it. I doubt it'll have the fixed lume dot though
  20. ...because it would still be inaccurate. The asian 7750 was used in the hugely disappointing Monza rep (which in the gen is similar to Monaco); the subdials are too far apart. This is the same problem which faces the Planet Ocean Chrono and the Seamaster Chrono Diver Black If a Steve McQueen rep was wanted; a dedicated trawl through iOffer and CQOut can uncover maybe one decent rep using the 21j movement. Most Monaco reps (be it S.McQ or std black) are wrong in many ways though...which is why most of the forum dealers don't carry it.
  21. You know what? I agree! I have a grey v2 w/steel and recently acquired a blue v1 on rubber...and I love it !!
  22. Wooowwww! Those gen bits look perfect! I am really looking forward to seeing this, Chief!
  23. Very nice combination! I see that you also got a gen clasp too... well done!!
  24. I have a Carrera Racing from King (when they were first released). Six or eight months ago it stopped working completely. Now it lies in the dead watches drawer at home. Shame really, as it looks very good with the bracelet
  25. Agreed. As someone mentioned somewhere, if you're sunbathing by the pool wearing your "dive" watch - it seems odd to remove it before jumping in?! Its not like I want to beat Phelps' personal best by timing myself..! I just like the Skyland. I don't normally ask about reps and water resistance, but since the Skyland (with bracelet) can be "sporty" aswell as "dressy", I'd like to take it on holiday somewhere. Morocco for example.... Otherwise it'd be 2 gen watches for the 2 "functions" But its great to know that some peeps have tested it, which is all i wanted to know! Thanks!!
