  2. Thanks guys for the comments... @ RG, no the cyclops is not AR'd.
  3. Okay, I have searched the forums and I cant seem to find ANYWHERE a thread that talks about removing links from a jubilee bracelet like this. I have most of the tools I need available and I make changes to my other bracelets all of the time... this one has me stumped. Here is a pic: How do I remove links?
  4. Hey guys, Some of you may remember another member that posted up a bunch of parts to build a superfranken datejust... well after getting all of the parts together and sourcing a few additional items... MD2020 worked his majic and I now have this: Gen 16200 case with smooth bezel Gen saphire cyrstal Gen high gloss Black dial Gen crown Gen Braclet (6251H with 55 endlinks, full 22 links and very little stretch) Gen ETA 2824-2 Tag Heuer movement Stilty movement ring - Rolex 3135 to ETA 2824-2 & 2892-2 Clark's Tudor ETA hands I can honestly say that when I first put the watch on that it was a bit too small for me compared to my franken subs... but after wearing this watch for 2 days... I LOVE IT!!
  5. Hey guys... great pictures and feedback. I want to add one more of mine as I just bought this last week (still waiting for it in the mail): - cartel case, CG's done, thinned, shaved, brushed and polished - cartel dial and hands with nice lume - gen ETA 2842 slowbeat, runs great - silver datewheel with open 3,6,9... - Phong bezel assambly - gen 93150 bracelet, clasp good condition - 580 aftermarket endlinks - gen springbars - GEN crystal - GEN insert - gen crown/tube - water resistant
  6. Thanks guys and great advise... I currenlty have two (2) franken TC LV Subs (Gen crystal, insert, crown). Next on the list will be to install a gen clasp (as recommended) and then start looking for some gen movts.
  7. Hey guys, I have been searching the bay and other forums. What and where is the best place to source GEN bracelets to fit my TC Subs? I am looking for two (2) bracelets. Thanks in advance for the guidance.
  8. haha... @ Mike... always playin... hope you see my datejust tomorrow my friend.
  9. Hey guy, I keep seeing people post up comments such as; "who has the best sub" and "this is a candidate for the best sub award".... I think its time we pull them out and show them off and see who REALLY has the best sub. Ill go first: TC Sub LV - Gen Insert - Gen Crystal (non AR'd) - Gen Crown
  10. I am on board with the others with going with a TC sub... I have owned a BK TW and two (2) TC subs and my current TC Sub has a gen insert, crown and crystal and it looks AMAZING and way better then my BK TW did. Here is a pic... I took it into a Rolex dealer here in Denver to have a link added (to see if they would call it out) and the guy totally thought it was GEN and complimented me on the watch.
  11. Okay guys, I need some guidance on where to source a few smaller parts to finish up my franken build. Here is my build list and I am being told that I need to have a "taller cannon pinion", "hour wheel" and "4th wheel".... and a Rolex Datewheel for a 2824-2 movement....... Do any of you guys have any of these parts on hand? I will pay good for the parts!! Build List: Gen 16200 case with smooth bezel saphire cyrstal (bought from Roling on eBay years ago) Gen high gloss Black dial (bought from Roling on eBay years ago) Gen crown Gen Braclet (6251H with 55 endlinks, full 22 links and very little stretch) Gen ETA 2824-2 Tag Heuer movement Stilty movement ring - Rolex 3135 to ETA 2824-2 & 2892-2 Clark's Tudor ETA hands
  12. Are you still able to buy the MBW two tone watches? Are they as good of quality as the TC or BK?
  13. What is this "MBW"?? I have heard of all of the great subs (TC & BK, etc)... I have not heard of MBW. I currently own both a TC & BK SS Sub.
  14. Hi Kevin, That is a great looking watch. Where did you source the watch/parts? Is it Franken??
  15. Thanks SSTEEL and alligoat... I am willing to pay the $1-2K to build a franken TT sub. I have paid that much for a franken Breitling Navitimer that is all GEN but the case.... so I am willing to spend the money to get exactly what I want. I talked to TC about a TT sub back in March and his response was: "I can build a TC Sub with the two tone blue dial, insert, and gold hands that I received from the dial maker for you, not a problem. Basically it'll be a two tone dial/insert/hands in stainless steel casing and bracelet. Such combination doesn't exist but sure is unique." I may end up going this route and using this as my base and working from there to switch out parts. Let me know of any of you have any other good ideas on a good base to start with or if any of you have one you would like to part with
  16. Hey guys, I have a quick question and have not seen a lot of other posts from members regarding FRANKEN TT subs. I am guessing these may not be as popular as a normal SS sub. I have been searching and searching for a good solid TT sub (like a TC or BK) but cant seem to find a good solid TT (Blue/Gold) TT Sub to build a franken with. This is my #2 GRAIL and I was able to talk one member into letting me buy his Franken Breitling Navitimer and now I need my #2 grail which is a TT (blue/gold) sub. Any suggestions on a good base to start with and then I will look for/source the gen parts (crystal, bezel, crown, movt. etc.) Thanks, Patrick
  17. Thanks SSTEEL, yes, I have worked with MD2020 and he is a great guy. I am in Colorado and when I have some "minor" work I want done to my watches I would like to see if I can work with someone local (fast) instead of shipping to MD2020 and waiting a week or two to get my watches back. If I need any type of service, etc. I will for sure use MD.
  18. Hey guys, just wanted to see if any of you are or know of a watch repair/modder in COLORADO??
  19. Very nice looking watch you have there....... I think you should sell it to me...
