  1. Theater of Tragedy! The best band in Norway! Or was... they left the stage October last year... 8-( Their three last records were all top of the best.... 8-)
  2. Try before buy! That is one reason.... A gen has a feeling. But the reps might have a very high quality.... so.... well try one first, then make your decision. And you will also have the possibility to get the one you want secondly, and not want to pay the full price for... ]8-)
  3. I thought that professional AD's had all the tools and part available! It might have been the two-tone parts that was missing. But it should have been easier to have those shipped.... Perhaps the AD was suspecting a fake... I have heard about AD's sending watches to Switzerland for "stupid services and other excuses" just to find out if it is gen... 8-)
  4. I have always been a fan of the 45,5. But after I had a inspection of my stomach a at the hospital they damaged the sphincter muscle. Then I have lost 20+ of kg weight.... Now I feel it is to large... Now my wrist is 7,8. Anyway there turn into an AD and give both a try! The 45 is more flashy... and that is cool... 8-)
  5. Any way, very cool! I wonder what type of movement this thing contains! The page contained a link to some "Vostok Military Watches". There might be some Russian things inside this "Väan Konrad". Any way 80 pound (not dollar!) are not that much... Very cool watch... If you like it, why not? If you treat it nice the secondhand value might bee kept! Nice box etc. This summer I bought the "Tao International Skeleton". Also from Ebay. (http://cgi.ebay.com/Tao-International-Whole-Skeleton-Mechanical-Watch-43mm-/180395011365?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Wristwatches&hash=item2a00616d25. But mine also has golden movement). Funny thing, just like your Konrad! Go for it and let us know! 8-)
  6. Great article! Any way, as they say: The fake has its value! "it has its own value as a vintage fake--as long as you knew that when you bought it and did not pay Omega money for it." That will be the essence of it all! Wear it, like it, feel it and love it. Do not cheat, and if you are lucky you will have a watch with great value some day! That is the joy of handicraft! (Even fake paintings can be sold at high prices!) Funny reading! 8-)
  7. Slickdick! Those were some of the coolest things I ever seen! And now you are telling us that you did not show pictures of your own "collection"! 8-D We were all so impressed! 8-) Although the wooden clocks are having a low "WAF", (Wife Acceptance Factor), you have the possibility to build a pocket watch! But that will be too much for PhotoShop! Really nice work. I wonder if the COSC-certificate is included if you buy it... PH 8-)
  8. I have seen klockit.com. Lots of their kits are quartz. They have some mechanical movements, but they seems to be "finished" and you "only" need to build a case for it. Am I right in that? Anyway some of the clockworks having striking mechanism, are playing quite a nice sound! Any way I will "need" a mechanical movement... 8-)
  9. I have had mine for some years... orange 45mm ETA. Reliable and all those sfuff
  10. Have you ever tryed to build a clock? I am soon(?) finished in building my first Pocher car, a Ferrari Testarossa. that is why I am planing my next project. The this, other, old plans are coming back; building a clock! I have been looking on this skeleton clocks for a long time! (http://www.classicclockkits.com/) OK, this is not a wrist watch, it is hard to keep these on your wrist. That do certainly need a lot of patience. But I hope this will give some good times in building and that the finished clock is having higher WAF than the, some cheaper, wooden gear clock (http://www.clockplans.com/) Do some of you have experiences in these Classic Clock Kits? On the home page it seems like a good kit and quite easy and straight forward kit. I have read about the TimeZone-school, but for the time being I do not feel ready for those small pieces. PH 8-)
  11. I would have tried to find a chinese from Tao International. http://store.taowatch.us/. It is easy and reliable to shop from EBay; stores.ebay.com/uswatchshop. I have bought a skeleton watch, but they have cooler "everyday use" watches too. 8-)
  12. Thanks! lots of tips! seams like some brands still likes this idea! 8-)
  13. The principles looks like the right! yes! The hour and minutes displayed like the datewheels! 8-)
  14. A far memory came into my mind... It is about a watch I saw back in the beginning of the 70'es. My father and I were out looking on a secondhand cab. It was a white beetle cab. We had a ride in the car, and I was sitting in the passenger seat. In the glove compartment i found this watch... I believe it was a Seiko, but other things captured my mind... It did not have hands! This was the time before the digital “revolution”, or… in the verry beginning! The dial was blue, and a red square dot moved around the edge showing the seconds. The indicators for hours and minuttes were working similar to the "date and day functions" on the watches we know. Through two holes in the dial there was a square hole for the displaying “wheel” for minutes, and another square hole for the hours. I guess these holes were located at “three” on the dial. The rest of the dail I can remember as quite "unused space" I remember wished that the owner had forgotten the watch, and we could receive it together with the car... Can some of you remember a watch like this? What kind of thing was it? By the way; my father did not buy the car...
  15. That really brought me back to the happy 70'th! Those watches was really popular! Oh boy how much I wanted one of those.... Wonderful work! Take good care of that old piece of history!
  16. Hi! I have been looking for a Swirling James Bond watch. I have seen this on only TrystyTime and KingWatches. Do some of you know if they are good replicas? And reliable dealers? They are posting on the pages with swiss ETA movement. Is this what you get too? best regards! Major Error 8-)
  17. has not set his status 8-P

  18. I have seen on some reps that the slideruler is not calculating right. I have a ChronoMatic with the E6B-slide ruler and it is not calculating right. On several reps I have seen the same mistake. The Bentley slideruler is not working in the same way so it is not so easy for me to take some mistakes on the picture. (But consult Toads good Guide to the SlideRuler). If you know how it works it is easy to spot a rep. If you slideruler works right it is the best way to make calculations! Any way your watch is a nice and flashy watch! (Just enough "circus"!) 8-D
  19. Oh! Yes! Go for the Automatic! They are alive and have to be kept on your hand. Other vice they "die"! Automatic watches will keep the 2nd-hand value much better and they will be easier to sell! Be sure that the papers etc are correct. Box etc should follow. Again for the value if/when you sell. (It seems like no one will advice you to go for the quartz. The price for the automatic is good!)
  20. any way! hope I get one black soon...
