  1. Wow...Mike...that's just my style and the right size too...to bad you're not "around the corner" Sent from my wooden drums using Tupperware
  2. ...just about to be closed... ...and closed... Now I'm hungry too...sorry J Sent from my wooden drums using Tupperware
  3. ...just preparing diner and felt like leting you guys take part (visualy ) Sent from my wooden drums using Tupperware
  4. M...I already managed to disassemble the bezel and retaining ring. Topokys advice was pretty good I soaked both in WD40 for a few minutes but when I put them together the bezel still won't move. So probably a new bezel assembly is needed...I don't know Maybe I'll drop in at Domis next week and see what he can do to it...
  5. Well...it's a serious problem for me since I'm not in modding at all and didn't expect this to happen + that the bezel still won't move and the watch isn't waterproof any more All I expected and am able to handle is a bezel that is coming off and maybe needs some sanding, cleaning, WD40 treatment, whatsoevertomakeitmove.... Okay...noted...do not buy from WSO...to expensive not good to use either... It seems the best for me (and probably the watch ) is to leave it like it is and hand it over to dutchguy2. He's way more experienced than I am and probably knows what to do or at least is able to change the whole assembly and have the watch waterproof again
  6. Where can I source that WSO bezel assembly dutchguy2 was talking about?? Edit: Just found out who it is and where to find it...
  7. hmmm...didn't try that...hold on a second...
  8. I managed to disassemble the retaining ring and the bezel and installed it without the washer...nothing changed...the bezel still isn't moving. So I can say at least for my assembly it wasn't the washer...would have been to easy to fix
  9. But first I have to go cooking...Spaghetti Carbonara
  10. Those plastic cups to press in the crystal with a press
  11. ...yes...I do understand...problem is...I don't have a crystal die I need to find something similar but it's worth a try, many thanks
  12. I am in contact with the modder...the bezel and the retaining ring aren't glued together...or...not on purpose at least...maybe they are accidentally...it looks like there is some glue on the crystal that probably wasn't hardened when he installed the retaining ring and the bezel Unfortunately for me the modder is leaving for vacation today so I have to wait till he's back and being patient isn't one of my strengths
  13. Just arrived yesterday and I had been aware that the bezel doesn't move cause the modder told me before. I didn't care since I have some experience in "getting tight things to move again" So I removed the bezel (at least I thought I do...) and this happened Too bad and I didn't expect that to be happen... It seems like the retaining ring and the bezel are somehow "grown together"...one cannot separate them from each other without causing to damage one or both (at least I can't)... Did anyone of you had the same or almost equal problems with his custom build 1675? Parts used: Cartel 1655 case Clarks bezel assembly gen T116 crystal I tried to reassemble it but can't manage to get the retaining all its way down...there is a gap of about 0,5mm now I guess the watch isn't waterproof now...at least I shouldn't try To sad since this was the watch I was drooling most for
  14. Yepp...the RLX vintage bug is doing hard work If you are able to build one yourself then go for it...lovely pieces they are Sent from my wooden drums using Tupperware
  15. Thanks Deckard To be honest...I wasn't a vintage RLX guy...I always wanted to have the "new" stuff like 116710, 116610, 216570, 116600...but the first vintage I bought (5513 from dutchguy2) injected its vintage bug and I was lost
  16. A little more then three months ago I just had been the average rep noob... I knew a lot about gens and I thought I knew a lot about reps...well...at my first day here I realized that I had no clue what you guys are talking about...Noob wasn't a factory for me, MBK, JMB, TC, Vac, MD2020, you name it...could have been some sort of drugs and they are...sort of I also wasn't aware that so many gen guys are in reps too. In the gen boards I was hanging around talking about reps was/is strictly forbidden...their common sense is...Rep wearer are looser...well...from my own experience...I aint a looser and talking about you guys I would say that you are nearer to be winners then the average gen guy is Like Forest said..."Stupid is as stupid does"... I can't see anything stupid here But...what I'm trying to say is...as the average gen guy I was always drooling after some nice RLX but once I bought'em I felt sooooo bad for spending so much money...I sold'em! But I was always trying to find something similar and spent way to much money for countless gens that didn't really get to me (see...Forest was right ). I lurked at reps but fortunately wasn't brave enough to send my money to one of those bling bling shops with gen pics talking about 100% gen like reps. I can't remember why I got here but lucky me it happened And today I can say I have the watches I always wanted...my old ladies down here... Most of them are franken (the 5514 isn't yet) at least with a gen crystal. I would say the 5513 is the only one which doesn't need any upgrade...I love her like she is now. The 1680 needs to get a new movement (gen 2846 already bought), new hands (TC 16610 hands are on its way) and a new dial (whoopy, ingod, yuki...not sure yet). The 1665 is almost finished but needs a new dial (whoopy, ingod, yuki...not sure yet) and the hands have to be relumed. The 1675 (will write an introduction shortly) is waiting for her new gen inlay and the bezel needs some love since it isn't moving but other than that it's perfect The 5514 needs to have a new dial (whoopy, ordered) and a new inlay (clark inlay is on its way) which I'm going to burn again to get it brown And now...let's get to the pics...I tried to give'em a vintage style...enjoy True colors...
  17. well...if it's not a TD then the only good advice is...stick with our TD (except for DW I would say!)
  18. Woohooo....that sounds quite optimistic....5 posts in 7 years...I would say this is definitely worth an award...but which one Btw...congrats to you purchase...I kinda like it even though it's a modern Rolex
  19. ...Google can't find 1675 inserts with serif fonts but lot of 16710 inserts... I was so happy that I finally found a nice gen insert for my 1675. Now I have to hope that I can sell it for the price I paid but when you say it's easy to sell that shouldn't be a problem I guess... We'll see in about 6 weeks time...the insert is in only 500km away but the seller is on holiday
  20. hmmm...that makes me wonder if the insert I just bought 1. is Gen 2. will fit a 1675 it looks like the 16710 example that By-Tor has posted...
