Jaa...me too. I had about 5x Seiko Orange Monster, 2x Orange Seiko Sumo, 2x Orange Seiko Sawtooth, 1x Doxa 750t, 2x Precista PRS-3 Orange, 1x Zeno Military Diver Orange, ...

Well...I actually had about 10 times more Seikos than you can see here...I only kept not all the pics The SKX0xx is truly a worthy watch. It feels not cheap at all even so it is The movement is very reliable and they're overall built like a tank. For the bracelet you have to choose an aftermarket super oyster. The original bracelets aren't that good. The watch you are showing is a SKX011 and for the mods (hands and inlay) I'd choose Noah www.10watches.com @Gran...yeah...the great blue is such a rare beauty...I hate myself for having it sold. Probably the last mint that was on the market

...almost 6 month ago I joined this forum without any rep in hand but one already on its way (Noobmariner/Regmariner bought over at RWI). Only a few days later I bought my first rep from dutchguy2 and from this moment on I had been hooked. The 16610 superrep I bought from dutchguy2 unfortunately had some problems with the movement and arrived DOA. Good thing was that this issue showed and proofed that dutchguy2 really is a stand up guy. First arrangement was that I should hand the watch over to Domi and since he is only 15km away I agreed. But I wasn't able to meet Domi in time and meanwhile dutchguy2 offered a very nice 5513 which caught my attention. I need to have it and so I sent back the 16610 superrep and received instead the 5513...watch Nr. 1 Since the 5513 had been priced a little lower than the 16610 dutchguy2 said he owed me some... Well...that was the start of my actual collection... Dutchguy2 is very good modder and since I searched for a decent 1675 he offered me to build me one...he planned to build one himself either so he said it's no big deal...watch Nr. 2 During this build he started to build himself a 1680 and so I asked if he kindly would build another one for me too..."sure mate" was his answer...watch Nr. 3 Building watches is something that needs time and patience...not my strongest sides I must admit... So one day devilseam offered a very decent 1665 and since I missed the inital sale I sure had to take off of him There were only two things that 1665 was missing and that was a gen T39 and lume...lucky me...dutchguy2 had some gen T39 and is pretty good in luming so I sent the watch over to his place and he perfected it for me...watch Nr. 4 The 1665 was back at my place pretty fast and the build of the other two was still in progress so I hit and miss some other meanwhile...a 5514, a 116509, a BTR Chrono, a Cousteau Divers Chrono, a Vintage SMP 300, a 16570, a 16750, a 16622, a 16600... But all didn't last long...two to three weeks... One day dutchguy2 offered a SMP300 Chrono and since I knew that his watches were always in good condition (otherwise it's no problem to find an arrangement) I bought it in an instant...good choice! During summer I had this SMP many times on my wrist while swimming at the public pool, jumping from 5m, diving down to 3,3m and I even used the chrono under water just like with the gen...it still is watertight!!! ...watch Nr. 4 The last watch I got in a trade with dutchguy2...I promised my wife not to buy any watch during a 12month period but I needed to have that SMP dutchguy2 offered. Since I always had a little problem with watches with no date I traded the 5513 for the SMP...watch Nr. 5 I like the SMP pretty much but still I regret trading the 5513 for it...the 5513 is such a nice watch...to nice to be traded (If you read this H...wear it in good health ). For now I think I can keep my promise for the remaining 10,5 month...my rep collection stays closed for now Rep collection: SMP 300 Chrono 1680 Kermit 1665 GW 1675 SMP But...there was a life before reps...I had been a real serial flipper with gens before...just some examples... Modded Seiko Sumo Omega Speedmaster Tudor 79260 Sinn 144 St Sa Seiko 6105-8110 Seiko LC Revue Thommen Airspeed Flyback Chronograph Nivrel Deep Sea Omega big PO pumpkin&black Seiko Premier Kinetic Perpetual Calendar Citizen EcoZilla with bracelet Armida A5 Daniel Jean Richard Chronoscope Glycine Combat Revue Thommen Airspeed Chronograph Seiko Alpinist Seiko "The Big Blue GMT" Seiko Landmaster Kinetic Seiko glossy five blue Sinn 203 Tissot SeaStar 1000 Tissot Navigator 3000 Tudor Hydronaut II Funny story about the Hydronaut II is that it is actually a 1:1 clone of a 1980 Citizens...Rolex/Tudor does reps too :D And there still is a gen life for me...gens I never would sale for no reason... Gen collection: Seiko 5 with Jaffy Jurados Olongapos Bifora from 1940s Dugena Festa from 1960s Junghans Rubinanker from 1940s Kasper from 1970s Citizen Promaster from 1990s...the watch with which it all began... And a gift which is a project now...

Well...the biggest tell with diamonds always is "can you afford it??". No matter if those "diamonds" look true or not...most won't be able to notice anyway...but if you don't look like or if the people around you know that you cannot afford to have such a watch as gen, then diamonds for sure scream "fake" Most people don't know about the value of some watches but they know that diamonds, real diamonds aren't cheap...

Arrr...that looks pretty nice Mike...if I ever will be in the US again I sure have to meet you just because of your cooking experience Yesterday I had some Injera for dinner with the missus...the kids don't like it... And today I already prepared KRAUT with a little bit meat too

Still... 1680 Kermit
-
Well...the first one really sucks...but the second could be gen with an aftermarket insert. Case, dial, hands, crystal...all looks good to me according to the pics...
-
Thanks H....seems like we two are the only ones with a slightly different taste ...you guys ain’t all mainstreamers, are you?? Anyway...being different is always my aim...hit it

Tadaaa....1680 Kermit

Maybe some of you guys noticed that a few weeks ago I was searching for a TC or WM9 LV. Actually I don't like the 5 digit Subs that much but I always loved the LV. Since my "love" for the LV was so painfull I even wanted to trade my really unique 1665 for it... Lucky me...I didn't get a good offer or at least not "in time". After a few days I realized that it's such a stupid idea to give a really nice 1665 for just another LV...I withdrew my trade offer. But still...I needed to have a LV... Due to misreading dutchguy2 placed a pretty nice picture in my head He was still working on my 1680...mostly assembling the parts ..the SRdial already has been relumed by him and (sadly) since he quit modding I have to send my 1680 to JJ to get the CG work done...but that's okay I asked him if he knew a source where I can buy a green inlay for my 1665...but...probably because he only had my 1680 in his mind he read 1680 and told me he might have one and he'd installing it for me...bang...that picture...a 1680 Kermit... Unfortunately his inlay won't fit a 4 digit Sub and by that time I wasn't able to find a source for one... I was just about to try to make some myself, had some ideas which most likely never worked out to be good enough, and wanted to buy some black inlay from Gary and once again lucky me...he had some green ones for the 4 digit subs Ordered one 10 days ago and today it arrived...cool...:8 So...here it is like I received it last week... Swapped out the gen insert, mounted a Yuki pearl into the Kermit insert and had been way to impatient with installing the insert... But somehow the scratch at 20 gives it a little more character ... I have to find something good at it just not to throw the watch at the wall Specs: Cartel 5512 Case (I know...stubby CGs...but hey...remember what JJ did to them? ) Gen Spec lug holes Single red dial source unknown, pretty decent, lumed by dutchguy 2 TC hands Clark Kermit 4 digit inlay Yuki perl Gen 703 TC tube Gen 127 Gen NOS 2846 Polexpetes silver DWO Bracelet and 580 endlinks rep Once my war chest is filled again I'll send it over to JJ to have the CGs shaved...then it's pretty perfect I'd say

Wow...now that's a nice double red Pete...wear it in good health!!

Just a little teaser...it's not finished yet

Your Thoughts on this Build Plan for a 1675 PCG
docthor replied to ceocorona's topic in The Rolex Area
I'd say that cases profile looks pretty good. Just do some work on the CGs and you'll have a very nice 1675. The crown is a tad small but what to do...you have to make a choice...use a correct 5.3mm crown that's to small for the CGs or an incorrect 6mm that'll fit the CGs...both will be a tell to the known... -
Well...I don't like them either. I tried to like PAMs back in my gen days but I can't. Same is with the AP RO and/or every Hublot...it's all too much fashion and hype...and I hate everything that's being hyped

Guess what I had for lunch today

I'd say you guys are all wrong... Franken is meant as a short from of Frankenstein. So...the use of Franken in the meaning of Mary Shelley would be correct if the meant watch has been built using parts from different sources. Just like Dr. Frankenstein in Shelleys story did! He didn't care if all parts for his monster came only from one gen John Doe...everything that fit's his needs has been taken!! So from this point of view one has to call every custom built watch a Frankenwatch. No matter if there is a single gen part that has been added or not. A modded watch can be one that wasn't custom built but e.g. the case has been modded or the dial or the inlay...you name it... A watch witch gen parts should be called a Genenstein (if there really is the need to give it a different name and not call it Franken but with gen parts) since there is at least one gen part with the watch. All the super- hyper - duper terms are only used to put ones watch above all others...needless I'd say. If it's a good watch it would be sold without these terms...if it's a bad watch no one would buy even with the terms...

Huh...this project started in April...didn't realize that it had been that long. Well...finally it came to an end...a very nice end I'd say
