  1. After a quite thrilling shipping Odyssey my 1665 purchased from devilseam arrived at dutchguy2s place and once again he did his magic on one of my watches. I'm always impressed of his work and will ever be I guess The starting point was a quite nice frankened (Gen inlay, gen crown) 1665 but with (at least for me) some unacceptable flaws...there wasn't any lume on the dial and the DW was way to much ooc... After dutchguy2 received the 1665 he mentioned that the lug holes need some love...something I didn't notice but he's the expert of the two of us so I wouldn't mind To finish the already nice look of the 1665 I decided to change the crystal with a gen one...nothing can beat a gen crystal The specs are now: MBW 1665 MBW dial MBW hands dutchguy2 lume Gen T39 crystal Gen Luminova bezel insert Gen 703 Crown Yuki tube TC springbars Rep 93250 with polished flanks Gen spec drilled lug holes Nuff said...Pix btw...on its way back to me the watch, once again, was sitting for more then 48hours in the PO without any sign of life...
  2. Disagree Right one would be my choice just for the look of it
  3. Mike...next time just tell me you're interested. If it is for someone I know I don't care if I have to hold it for weeks if necessary. Because I know he stands to his word
  4. Some of you may have noticed that yesterday I sold two of my watches. Since there was pretty much interest without asking for a discount, I guess my pricing had been at least good But hey...what a pain some can be... One potential buyer made an offer that I accepted and then he claims that he needs a bit more time to think about it... One potential buyer magically had problems with his paypal account right after he shouted "I'll take it"... One potential buyer vanished and never had been seen again after showing "serious interest"... Two tried to tell me that my prices were way to high and offered me something less then 200€... Many were asking for more details and more pics... I mean...we're not talking about buying a new car or having a 3k€ escort...it's just a cheap rep for less then 300€!! If one can't stand his word within this price range...man you guys should play marbels!! But good thing is/was...at the end we do have some really straight guys around here so the watches had been sold in an instant And...I now understand why some of you guys have that "payment has to be done within 20min" rule
  5. Nice As far as I know...when the caseback is SS, the case is only gold plated. Only the full gold cases do have a gold caseback too. Sent from my wooden drums using Tupperware
  6. hmmm...where to source a "better" dial? Yukis dials aren't that much better as far as I can see. But who else has 5514 dials? Sent from my wooden drums using Tupperware
  7. Bahhh...as long as you don't want to pass the watch as a gen...who cares?? If it feels/looks good for then just go for it  I saw 1680 with saphire crystal, 93250 with glide lock clasp mounted on 16800 and 16520 with hornback reptile and all this on gens in gen fora...the only ones that cared are those who just couldn't have their own style Sent from my wooden drums using Tupperware.
  8. Well...it's not just that I like it...to be honest...I love it Sent from my wooden drums using Tupperware.
  9. Many thanks for your kind words ...I love it too A wise dutch guy told me once "nothing beats a gen crystal"...I stick to his word There are 580 rep endlinks attached...
  10. Since the vintage bug bit me it was nothing but obvious that I need to have a nice 1680 and I was very pleased when Jos asked me if he should build me one. I was totaly involved in the building process and it had been a pleasure for me. It even encouraged me to do my first own little steps in modding So here it is...my lightly Franken 1680 Specs: Josh 1680 gen spec case (afaik it's a cartel case) Lug holes gen spec drilled A2813 movement Cartel dial Cartel hands Cartel bezel Jos relumed TC crown TC tube Gen 127 crystal Gen 1680/5513 service insert
  11. I would say yes...I'll try tomorrow. My 16570 has been overhauled by Domi and regulated to +4sec. I'll try and see what Kello tells me
  12. does work well through the caseback. But you have to put something soft under the mic to get it worked well

  14. Being here with you guys is just fun...and a cheap fun too even when one decided to be a diamond supporter
  15. well...I use the original iPhone headset and that works fine
  16. Well...I don't know about the quality of the pam111 v3 but since I owned 8 Getat pam hommages I know a bit about them. The movements are pretty good but the case quality isn't. On three of my 8 the tread for the strap pin was damaged and on 6 (all 6 Luminor cases the other 2 were Radiomir cases) cases the lever action was close to loose. And...I didn't try on mine but I heard from others that the cases aren't waterproof in any way. One isn't even able to wash his hands without probably getting water into the watch... I wouldn't pay 192$ for a Getat hommage anymore...if you can get one for 90-100$ that would be okay I guess. For almost 200$ at least I expect to get more....my2cents
  17. ...the inlay colour was done on purpose. I really love that brown. You are right...they usually don't turn that colour only from getting old but since I already have a nice 5513 with a very nice vintagized inlay I don't need another one I think I'll leave it like it is now since this one should be a cheap summer beater. If I feel the need to get a more accurate 5514 I'll get everything new since nothing on this watch is really good
  18. Last week I bought a Comex 5514 which already had been vintagized. The dial and the hands are pretty cool, done by a well known modder. The case, bezel and inlay was vintagized by the previous owner and he...hmmm...well...let's say he has his own sense of vintagizing a watch Well...surprise surprise I have a Dremel which I never had used before and so I took the oportunity to do my first very own mods After half an hour with the Dremel and about 20 min with a silver polish cloth and Polywatch the case looked like I thought a case of a 40something years old watch should look like. To bad that you guys cannot see that the case looks still "used" under the polished surface. Maybe I can take some pics tomorrow to show you Okay...case done...but what shall I do with the inlay??? During my Dremel session I tried to flaten out the scratches but that didn't turn well Okay...inlay is almost gone to hell...it couldn't get worse, let's burn it After 4 min on the Ceran plate it had that cool brownish golden look, perfect for this watch since I planed to wear it when I'm dressed in brown Sent from my wooden drums using Tupperware.
  19. No feedback yet...guess why Sent from my wooden drums using Tupperware.
  20. ...and this rep doesn't either, just like the gen Sent from my wooden drums using Tupperware.
  21. +1...me want some Sent from my wooden drums using Tupperware.
  22. Öhm...as far as I know TC doesn't provide a Cr Sub yet Sent from my wooden drums using Tupperware.
  23. ...no kind words about my Explorer?? You guys are soooo mean Sent from my wooden drums using Tupperware.
  24. I have it, I have it oh...no...I don't... So who does??? Sent from my wooden drums using Tupperware.
  25. ...I sent him a message if it is possible to have a look at the watch or at least to finish the sale at a Rolex concessionaire
