Excellent news PAMman ...just never seen any pics of anything except L SWISS MADE L ... I am "feeling" my 000 Logo Base more now ...especially with the right CG and an incoming master re-lume / new crown !! FGD

OK Peep - accept the logo isn't the worst feature - but one my older version the angle of the up "Air" arrow just didn't look right. But you have just reminded me of the other minor flaw - the gen from G series had L SWISS MADE L and never L SWISS L. Still a great watch if you can find them ....?? FGD

That's a gen dial and the Pre-V dials/watches were all made in Italy I believe ...could be wrong but none of the 5218 series have T-SWISS-T on them Didn't happen until Pre-A I think ? FGD

Jay ...I can't really see or be sure from the photo - but it looks like a 47mm 1950 case set with a domed crystal.......now that would be possible and tres cool in PVD.- just the numerals look like historic shape and quite close to the outer edge of the dial...? 0117/1950 - Fiddy or 6152 Case Set - use some credit from DSN!! DSN Fiddy Gold hands are quite nice Solid 6152 case back Just the base 47mm sandwich dial is stumping me ....but not beyond the realms of possibility??? FGD

V - I just don't think that there is a good enough 005 dial at the moment and the 000 is very hard to find - Gen would be the only sure fire way for an 005. 005 Dial Wrong Logo Wrong A's Shallow numerals and indices 000 Dial Wrong A's Wrong Logo Straight leg R's IMHO -

I think there's only the 183-G and some of the better 127/217 dials that get things close......and maybe DSN's 232 Aint got no H series Sandwiches in my box as a result ....

Just updated this piece with the new CG - may need to trim the lever a tad more for the PALP crown but took these photos and haven't got the time to take them again !!! I used the following Helenarou (EE-Bay) case set as has been mentioned - had to fit a new tube for the crown but I love the short lugs and squat profile 1:1 Pre-Vendome style CG .....boy does this REALLY make this watch become viable - it was always the missing link ....until now!!!! PALP Crown - although I'll never buy from him again - Rolli knows why! Davidsen Dial - unlumed so I had a pop at it myself with some water based paint - no varnish finish - but it's not a dial a deemed worth sending to The Master to complete due to the inaccuracies. Davidsen Case Back- OK can live with it for now Non AR Sapphire Spring bars - untll some 2 screw lug bar assembly comes along!! I fitted the MP PAV 98 with the Logo buckle (this is what I was keeping it for Jay!!!) which is my favourite combo - but also thought I'd show the other straps I have lined up in the strap box for this piece - K Wong Deep Ridge Black shark with Rep Logo Buckle - Custom Made Metta with OEM MX Logo Buckle - V's Custom Greek Hide in Tan - with OEM MX Logo Buckle - MP "Senape" with MP Coined buckle V has had a hand in every one of these straps to get them how I wanted them - he made the Metta and of course the Tan Hide - both of which feel (and smell) historic !! Got to give a big thanks to our resident Master of Straps .... Thanks and enjoy

Just thought I'd share this with you ... It's one of those watches that has a place in my box and on my wrist more regularly than some others ... I love the dial (correct A's) detail on the engraving , date font , cyclops - it also stand high on the wrist due to the "antimagnetic" thicker case back .... It shows what can be done when some of the makers put their minds to it!!!! I HATE the rattle on the bezel and have lost the NW marker so had to cobble a replacement from a case clamp... I stuck a new 1:1 CG on it as the crown on this watch has been made quite close to the genuine with a deep rehaut - so the lever on the CG fits perfectly and can be re-used on something else with ease. I have been toying with the idea of the 252 NP - as Takashis review makes it sound great - and it doesn't have a rattle on the bezel which is the main bug bear....!!! Has everyone found the same with their 252?? Cheers Dust is a PITA when I take photos - sorry!!! FGD

If I was Indiana Jones ...sod the Crystal Skulls ...this is what I'd go ripping up tombs and temples for .....my grail dial!!!! Assuming you don't already own these gens !!!!!......I'd say a 203/A or a Pre-A 001/004 as DSN's case back's for both of these are OK and there's a source for a reasonable Pre-A case - guess with Pre-A you don't have to worry about the 2 screw lug assembly either.... We all know a good member for PVD coatings.... Just you're gonna have a sh*t load of credit left after a couple of casebacks only!!! Cheers S
