  1. Bienvenue Tom!!!!...here's another one for you Kruzer....together maybe we can make a sentence!!!! FGD
  2. Thanks Gents - yes I love the GEF croc as well - the pre-a buckle is tiny and probably worth it's wait in gold - first time I can actually say that for real!!! The engraving on the Pre-V isn't actually paint filled - just coined and lightly polished which left some residue in the engraving and makes it stand out a bit more - better than Dirk's IMHO. Delta - you have PM Ross - yes - tubes and case next - you have something in the post today as discussed. V - thanks for doing the transplants as said - really is no-one better at this for me than you Cheers FGD
  3. Nice ...no very nice.....HK makes excellent straps ....something primeval about it ???
  4. Well Jay - you have learnt your DSN lesson the way many of us have ....the hard way.....IMHO it's part of the journey ....all that glitters is clearly not gold and you have to find that out for yourself sometimes. I only have one DSN watch (1st edition 082) remaining in my collection and it's had work done- it's always ran fine for since day one but that's more down to ETA than DSN. He has always been "hit and miss" but it seems he no longer GAF about what he sends out - used be that all his watches were tested , QC'd by himself before shipping - seems like his eyesight or standards have gone out the window. I still find DSN handy for parts and will continue to do so but he no longer deserves the "legendary status" some have accorded him. This place is aching for another Jimmyz Fu to push the hobby on - 1:1 case sets , crowns , CG's and of course dials and hands. We'll just have to wait and hope for a new legend. FGD
  5. Looks rubbish - shame nice dial.
  6. First up - my 003 on a GEF Waterproof Crocodile with Genuine Pre-A buckle - the buckle came from our resident "Uncle Good Stuff" - by far my favourite and most expensive combo to date - the crocodile is sublime - thick & chunky, beautifully depth of detail and the buckle - well that deserved nothing less than the best strap in my collection....it's good to have Uncles!!! Next up - my 009A with custom made PAV-91 - 24/22 with a gen A-series 2 screw PVD buckle - PAV-91 is a must with PVD - for me it's the most versatile colour strap - looks great on any PAM and I wanted to use with tang buckles so I can maximise the versatility. 3rd in line - my 028A with custom made PAV-98 - again 24/22 to use with ardillon buckles and max the wearing options - this time with rep PVD buckle - waiting to get the PVD treatment by Master Rolli. Last - but by no means least - PAV-98 with a Pre-V buckle - I have a source for these buckles and really wanted to up the look on my PAV straps - I have the option for a few more and just wanted to bounce these of the forum to get your views and see if there is any interest from people I know .....IMHO it rocks and makes a $250 strap look like a $2500 strap - something that my budget just can't justify. Mounted by our resident Master of Straps - V........more coming your way dude!!! This is destined for a very special piece .....still in the making ....I'm sure you can guess what it will be ..?? Thanks for looking FGD
  7. Kruze - I think these hands are meant for you mate - my view is they are T - sure 23 was never made with L- it's A-Series only I believe!!! Happy bidding- although your bank account may cry once more!!! S
  8. Beautiful - but I also have no look bidding on these at a decent price - even with a sniper. The OEM crowns worth about $50-$70 have been going for $250+ recently and just not worth it for a rep But it's all about the money if you're selling.
  9. All I'd say is that in 65 years , it hasn't been done yet ...so maybe the world is full of honest people ??!??
  10. V knows his buckles and straps like no other - truth has been written here ...the Gospel of GPF Mod Dep by the Venerable V.!!! They are not very easy to replicate at all - even Kevin's buckles have subtle differences from the gen - replicating 65 years of natural aging beyond question is not that easy- given that the originals were all hand made and stamped - each one tells a different story. They are so rare and records show how many vintage watches were made - any sudden availability of claimed gens would raise alarm bells immediately. Thinking of selling reps as gens is a step down the dark path my friend!!!! That said - a very good "honest" reproduction for $100 max is something I'd love to have in my collection....
  11. A beauty as we have discussed already ... ...one of the best!!
  12. Ross...drop me an e-mail ....I can probably help you on all these parts ? S
  13. Food for thought... Suppose that every day, the same ten men go out for a few beers and the bill for all ten comes to
  14. V that looks fantastic and a good investment no doubt... I am actually surprised how good it looks on a 44m modern piece - especially with that strap. I'd love to see it on a 232, 127 , 217 as well as 3636 , 6152 etc... Well done mate!!! S
  15. 23 steals the shows IMHO....the quality of your wrist candy is AAA+++ Kruzer.....love it!!!
  16. Fantastic looking piece Kai ...got to be the best destro ever modded!!!!! Congratulations
  17. Arch, An engraver that can do trophies for schools / sports teams etc - and pesonalised wedding gifts etc can do this for you...PM me... Rolli, Great looking watch - next on my list of projects as well. This will be a "neo-vintage" piece in years to come I expect. Our good man DSN can supply a bold font DW if you are interested and I may have an idea for you to improve the dial - again if your are interested... Cheers
  18. If you get the "Ultimate Version" of the 092 this comes with - Good Datewheel Good Cyclops Mag Decent AR on the Sapphire An SS OEM crown is a nice touch - but not accurate for a G-series contemporary Sub-esque model - a PALP Auto crown looks better IMHO. CG you have sorted A Re-lume by a "Master" is a must. And get the "clanky" bezel sorted out if you can..... Done
  19. Dude...that straps is a piece of history .....it's and yours. It deserved the time spent on it and what a result.....excellent craftsmanship!!!
  20. Very nice - Rob....can you lay your hands on it ...? As far as fantasy - it looks like a nice 3646 / Kampschwimmer - is it 45mm or 47mm ? Cheers
  21. Time well spent on the watch and the review ...both are excellent!!
  22. Amazing find Kruzer.......a finishing touch that I bet you never thought would come up but what an end result!!! Great review as well dude....your photo skills are getting better!!
  23. Excellent - Cali especially but I do like the mini fiddy case set ....you've clearly got the bug!
