V - I think the best chance of rep satisfaction is with an 004 or an 009 - especially with a 004 as you can get a correct case back with millesimation and OP number and as you have a base already might complement nicely. With your 1:1 CG you have, a Pre-V 202/A or a Pre-A 009 would be special - you just need to obtain the best dial possible. I think case set , case back and of course straps - are well within the realms of possibility to source. Just my 2 pence!!! Cheers

Got to deny the new 036 dial - 1 step forward on colour - 2 steps back on the dial text and lume... If I remember rightly Jay has a super rare 036 L dial which has to be worth a gazillion DSN parts !!!!!!

Jay - I can only say that this is the "lesser of a few different evils" and at least you are getting some money back..... I guess it all depends on what Gen pieces you have and the frankens in mind to determine the parts you'd want to use the credit for... IMHO and from experience - these are the choicest DSN parts (in no particular order) I'm sure others with chip in ... Fiddy Sapphire and fiddy case set in general 3646 Case set and plexi Latest 232 Dial and hands set New Pre-V Crown and Tube OP 6500 Case Back - tinny but correct detail 082 Dial - but the first version had the best text. 010 Dial - again the original was practically flawless but latest versions are not so good ETA 6497 - his bulk HK versions usually come with Incabloc 207-A Dial and hands set After that I'm stumped and you'd have a hell of a lot of credit to burn still... Best of luck with it all... S

Yes - he just polished the AR off with a dremmel and rouge - it's a 5 minute job just watch you don't burn your fingers !!! I'll post pics of the case set later ....

No - it has much stubbier lugs and a "squat" profile - I will post pictures of my 201A I promise - with a nice new CG fitted !!!

Helenarou on the bay. Item - 270245085016 is the basic watch version but case set's only were cheaper. MK is the sellers name... CG , Crown and Case back are rubbish and a new tube is required for the case set - but DSN's new Pre-V crown comes with a tube so job done. I purchased 2 case sets and whilst I can't directly compare the PAMMan's early EL case - the Helenarou case sets have short squarer lugs , no strap dimple and come with a non-ar crystal (mineral) which comes in handy. Peeps - I'm not waiting for DSN...

PAMMan is correct - it's a std rep dial and I asked Ziggy to close the loops on the 6 and 9 - but maybe a bit too far with the benefit of hindsight.. Also used Pre-A OP 6500 case back as the B series option has wrong serial/ millesimation is wrong - should be xxxx/1500 and B series case backs are xxxx/3000 - correct for 001/003/004 . One day i hope to drop a better Pre-A dial into the 009 and then it will be better all round.....happy for now though as there's only you guys who know the difference of GAF!!!

Double oops for the hijack I have found a case I think is better for Pre-V (Shorter lugs and no strap dimple - better side profile) - Ross has one from me for review and I think he concurs.. You know what's coming next ...the ball has been set rolling ....PM me or call if you wish...S

Nice D...The "Oxblood" Exquisite Cordovan from Europelli is also killer on a Rad...I have it on my 183-G and it never comes off....I think I'd only replace with an OEM Gator...

Probably pne of the best posts I have ever read on this forum - it's makes complete sense given the numbers involved and the improvements in quality and reliability that have been seen with both the A7750 and the clone high beat "Panerai" 6497-2 that appeared recently. K- safest option is going to be an 005 - if you want to use an historic CG...... Failing that - 111-G - but then you have the movement and caseback to consider One day a better 005 and 001/111G dial will be made ...I assure you... FGD

Looks great G - I think that 112 dial takes some beating from Davidsen - If only he'd change the colour of the dial text to a gilt/ bronze - but we know someone who can fix that... Same with the crown and CG - it looks as if DSN has taken note of comments on this forum (and maybe my e-mail to him) - that's looks like a standard rep case set / CG to me . The crown is actually 2.0mm thick and has the correct number of teeth - just the collar beneath (which sits on the tube) is too short and thus the crown sits too close to the case.....or an OEM one if you fancy bidding $300 on the bay when they keep apperaring??? Suggested fix if you're interested would be - Davidsen 2.0mm Pre-V crown and Tube installation ...I personally wouldn't bother with PAM any more ...he is so difficult to deal with when something goes wrong. I have had to ask for assistance from another member to replace 3 badly threaded ones after 4 months of trying myself.... Enjoy it FGD

The fundamental issue with DSN watches is his custom made case sets - especially the latest models with badly fitting CG's and crowns etc. I purchase standard rep parts from DSN - and have no problems with these items His ETA 6497 movements have Incabloc as standard. His latest Pre-V crown is as good (if not better ) than PAM/PALP's and come with a new tube for half the price. His Lumed hand stacks are good and have a choice of C1 / C3 or vintage lume. I actually like some of his casebacks despite the thin steel construction. OP6500 is correct despite shallow engraving His stanard rep CG's are far more reliable and better made than some of rubbish I've had - no misfitting lever issues to date His Fiddy Sapphire crystal has NEVER exploded on me and IMO is the best available I have sourced large font 7750 DW from him due to issues Lello has been having and these are half the price. I'd suggest asking him to make you a 104 using standard rep case set - I know he was able to do this when he ran out of his custom parts a few months a go.... IMHO this could immediately resolve alot of the build quality issues and at least you'd have a watch that could be modded with std or even gen parts. Basically - if DSN did this and just used his ready Super-lumed dial as his USP - it would be a big step forward.

T - I really like your sharkie - makes the 201 look more like the real deal...... you may have helped me recover from the seed V planted in my head!!!!! I also may be able to get you a "homage" buckle that will add to that "had it since the 1990's" look .... Cheers :FGD:

It looks great, really good - but I have shyed away from a brown shark ever since V told me he had one that looked like poo...and I can't get that out of my heqd now!!!!!! I went for a Kwong deep ridge shark which is also very nice - but I don't find I wear it very much ....it's a keeper though....

Oh dear,.....the bug got you too eh??? ....that's a big spend in one go and there is no cure (rehab doesn't work!!)....just enjoy them and then buy more!!!!! FGD
