No problem Indeed, the lighter straps bring out the black much more. When it has the black strap, it's almost like a digital watch, in that it all just 'blends in'. By wearing the different color strap, it's not so much a case of saying "Look at my watch!!!", just a case of bringing attention to the fact that there is a watch, and a strap, each worthy of note on their own merits As soon as the 24mm buckles I've ordered arrive, I'll be putting it onto a honey-gold sharkskin strap, which arrived courtesy of Lanikai

If a rep has been modded in some way which is actually beneficial to it, ie re-lumed, better quality movement, crystal been AR coated etc, then a re-sale price should certainly reflect that, and be higher than the original sale price (even taking into account that the item is now pre-owned, the work done to it, improves it from it's original state, so the original price no longer really applies) That's not to say that people should start trying to charge silly money for a modded watch, as after all, it is still only a rep, and not a genuine item, but, beneficial mods should definitely be taken into account. With regards to the cost vs value, I'd have to agree that these are novelty items, and, novelty items, can often command very high prices. I know what you mean, the black does give it a more 'tactical' look, but strangely, I think it's the matte texture of the PVD which actually gives the impression of it being a 'stealth' watch, rather than the strap, which in all fairness, would be quite acceptable on a dress watch In terms of color, Emily, her mum and her step-dad all prefer how it looks on the black, but personally, I find the black a bit monotonous, and prefer it on browns

Absolutely so Okay, a datewheel might be a feature I can do without, but, the good folks at OP dealt with it in as unobtrosive manner as possible

For me, it was the other way round, in that I think the numerals on the dial (even if small) still add to the 'clutter' (and the larger GMT hands definitely do) I don't normally like a cyclops on a watch, as I don't like them being a raised detail on the crystal, although with PAMs, they locate it internally, so it's not an aesthetic problem. I admit, I still don't like having to alter a date wheel, but, purely in terms of cyclops positioning, I can't really fault Panerai's design choice (absolutely spot on, as with all things Italian ) I'd originaly ordered the 029a as a gift, but it was the detail of the dial, which very quickly won me over, and made me decide to keep it for myself

That is it The watch came on a rubber dive strap, and has a PVD buckle, but it doesn't have a PVD bracelet (I'm not sure if such a thing even exists ) Not a holiday I celebrate, but it's been a good one thus far

In term of accuracy, I'm sure that the PAM experts will point out several minute details, however, bear in mind that the majority of the public have never even heard of this watch, let alone know what the details should be. In terms of winding, it should take about fourty winds, from completely stopped, to fully wind the watch, and that should keep going for about 48 hours. By choice, I wind my PAMs at midnight every day, just so I know that it's always fully wound

Are you sure we're thinking of the same movie(s) I'm thinking of the movies with Jason Statham, where he was wearing a PAM Chrono (and from his comments on the DVD commentary, it sounded like it was his own personal property, rather than one provided by the costume department), not Transformers, with the lovely Megan Fox Indeed, on Submariner's (and to a degree, Seamasters), all the 'blurb' can be cluttering and unneccesary. I'd even say that Marina Militare Luminor Panerai looks cluttered compared to Luminor Panerai Plain is good, after all, a 112h has hardly any printing, and, even a 'sterile' 112h would look nice, I think the problem with that watch is that rather than being 'plain', the hands, indices and dial are so slim they rather 'blend in' at a casual glance...

When I was younger, I used to really like multi-dial watches (corrupted by the Seiko in Octopussy) However, as I got older, I realized that a lot of the functions on such watches, I never used, so getting such a watch was pretty pointless. Now, I like my watches to be as uncomplicated as possible (probably why I like PAMs so much) Things like GMT can make the watch too busy, it depends how it is handled. For example. The 029a. Barely visible GMT indicator hand (some might not like it, wanting something more visible, but, I personally find it a bit like a butler:Invisible untill required) The 24hr scale is on the bezel, rather than being on the dial face, so not actually cluttering the dial. However, there are GMT PAMs with the 24hr scale on the dial and a GMT hand which is as visible as the primary hands, which, altogether, (I feel) combine to clutter the dial. I only used the GMT as an example, as it's something I would wear more when the function will be used, rather than just wearing it (although every now and again, I do think, "Damn that's a nice watch, I'm wearing that today!" ) Bearing that in mind, I have little use for a watch with chrono functions (although I want to get the chrono PAM worn in The Transporter for my movie collection) so would likely not wear one very often anymore.

To be precice, UPO is just sold by Andrew or Josh (I really can't remember which) If you really want a UPO, they're who you have to go to. There are, however, dealers with equally nice Planet Oceans. None of them are 1:1 perfect to the real thing, so whatever you buy will have some flaw. The trick, is to pick the one with the flaw you can live with (or modify)
