  1. @New York

I've about had it with your:

Lack of positive contribution to this forum...

    Your negative input...

    And your general shitty attitude...

Lack of positive contribution? Excuse me for saying, but Sony was the one who posted the manipulative email that Joshua sent him. That was a very usefull contribution to this forum in general, and this community as a whole.

  2. If you don't know what GAF stands for and are in any way curious, suggest you walk into your local AD with a Sub prominently displayed on each wrist before nonchalantly catching the manager's attention and whispering "psssst, I can get as many as you want, no questions guv'n'r...." before leaving your contact details including home address on a scrap bit of paper. You then need relax and do nothing more as all will be revealed.... ;)

IMO? I think J&A were being superstitious :ph34r:

Anyway for anyone looking for a gen 20mm rubber strap for the 42 PO, take a lookie HERE

Or, you could just tell me what it stands for :D

My Seamaster strap has JAH. Any ideas as to what that stands for?

  3. Mmmmmm, not sure about this one... there is a big gap between the case and the strap... think I prefer the rubber strap that isn't trying to pretend it's made of leather. Apologies, this is only MHO - each to their own !

I'd have to agree with that comment.

Andreww, I can understand why you like the look, as you're clearly a fan of the Breitling 'style', but personally, it's not my cup of tea...

  4. Well...

as far as I have heard! pure real rubber doesn't collect dust

there was a group buy for a 20mm rubber strap

The group buy was for the 20mm Seamaster strap, which at the time, was acknowledged to be the same as the one Josh sells (therefore same as Kings, and the same as on my wrist now ;) ) so not a 20mm Planet Ocean strap :)

Yep, this looks like cosmetically spot on but looks likely rubber isn't same composition as the gen. Not sure if it's 100% rubber or if there's some silicon in there to give soft feel but anyway the gen just doesn't pick up any dust at all, zilch.

An interesting note - Jay had this made from gen strap but has changed one tiny detail - the code stamping under the buckle-end keeper is correct in every character EXCEPT is says 'HAF' whereas the gen has the infamous and dreaded initials 'GAF'

    Now that's paranoia!

Not debating the accuracy of this strap, as it was taken from a genuine one, but I found it interesting that the code stamping is 'upside down' compared to the Seamaster strap. Would Jay have had the letter changed so they could say that it is different to the genuine item? (in terms of copyright issues) Out of curiosity, what is wrong with the letters GAF?

  5. Ok so is this the enw dial from the link at the very top (with the red letters) or just the old dial without the 3 o clock marker? I'm confused

The old dial without the 3 marker. That is the 'new' dial. Personally, I'd rather wear an SMP with a missing 3 marker than wear a totally accurate one with the red lettering, because the way the letters in 'Omega' are all joined together makes the watch 'look fake'. I much prefer how the logo and lettering were printed on the original SMP dials, like how they are on Rolex Submariners. My Planet Ocean has both logo and lettering printed, and I think it looks more uniform than having both a metal add on and printed lettering, but that's just my opinion...

  6. Errr, no they're not! :whistling:

    Err, yes they are...

    Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Strap:

    227514-12885.jpg

The two colors are quite distinctly different. I have viewed the genuine Planet Ocean strap twice in the last month. The first time, I thought the color was Charcoal, but wasn't 100% sure, so the second time, I wore a black shirt so I could compare the two colors, and the strap was definitely Charcoal. When we left the jeweller, I asked my fiance if she thought the strap was black or charcoal grey (had never discussed the color with her previously) and her immediate reaction was "Charcoal Grey"

The Planet Ocean does not have a black dial, it has a matte Charcoal Grey dial, and a strap to match.

Look at the colors of Duzledwarf's watch, you can see that the NATO strap is black, the bezel insert is black, and the dial of the watch is a few shades lighter. Charcoal Grey.

  7. I don't think these watches are for us gang :wounded1:

To expensive to buy the gen and to exclusive to be repped.

    Ken

Might a factory be able to make something visually similar if given enough photographic reference material? As a graphic artist, I could quite easily put together schematics and illustrations of specific parts, if that would be sufficient for a factory to work to...

  8. Peace offering ?

You pay twice the price for pure heroine, and received battery acid,..

Then,..From your hospital bed :black_eye: , you vow never to trust him again..

Leaving the hospital, your drug dealer grabs you from the alley and without apologizing,

    tells you,....

" You ? Leave me ? Come on.. you are just a junkie,. a weak simp,..

Here,...I offer you primo,.. for less that any other drug dealer can do it,..

    {Just this one time mind you.........}

Take it You F*ckin fish,....you can Trust me ... :whistling: ..."

Now let's watch the the addicts dance.... :Jumpy:

  9. What're people's thoughts on this watch? If I was to have one, would anyone be interested in taking it off my hands?

    Why do I ask? Well....

My dealer has said that my PO 2901.50 is finally repaired and will be returned to me once I settle the repair fee. They have also said they are throwing in 'their personal watch, an Orange Planet Ocean', as compensation for the delays (due to Chinese New Year) When I had previously asked them what watch they had (idle conversation as we're good friends), they said it was the Orange Planet Ocean Chrono. Now. This is slightly conflicting info. If they are sending me an orange Planet Ocean, I will keep it and swap out the bezel. If it's the Orange Planet Ocean Chrono, I simply wouldn't wear it, so I'd much rather sell or exchange it for something I would. I'm not likely to have the watches for a month, so thought I'd give this time to brew and people to mull it over. Watches (reps, obviously) I would accept a straight trade for:

Planet Ocean 45mm on Rubber (NOT LE or Orange)

    Omega SMP 2531.80

    Omega SMP 2254.50

    Vintage Rolex Submariner.

Any Panerai Marina or Base with a sandwich dial.

I would also be prepared to take reasonable cash offers.

Please note, this is only something my dealer has said, I would not like to say 100% that they will give me the extra watch until I open the parcel and see it in my hands (although they have always been 100% reliable in the past) Until I receive the watches, I have no further information about the watch or pictures of it. As I said, this is simply putting feelers out for possible interest in aproximately a month's time. When I have the watch, I will of course take and post decent pictures of it for people to see.

    Thanks in advance :)

  10. I have to tell everyone, this site has evidently been hacked by the FBI. I called my local office here and explained about this site but they claimed they had no idea what I was talking about, now they have my name, address, and phone #. I hope I'm not in trouble.

Probably only for wasting FBI Time by reporting an April Fool's joke :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  11. Don't spit on their olive branch is all I'm saying.

Andrew, this is more a Trojan Horse than an Olive Branch. As others have pointed out, it is naive to think that this is a peace offering. A proper peace offering, would be to privately contact all members who voiced complaints/concerns, and individually rectify those concerns, not try to sell something. This is proving precisely what I said before that allowing the Cartel to remain here would be taken as weakness, and a green light to carry on as before. Neil knows what he is talking about here, defer to his experience.
