  1. I'm a prolific facebooker... I tend to 'like' a lot of stuff if I agree with what a person's said, but can't necessarily contribute an answer Thanks, bro
  2. I've run out of 'likes' for the day, but that is so true. Courtesy is courtesy, regardless of who it is extended to and by
  3. Good to see you posting, brother, I hope life's been treating you well
  4. I've honestly never had an issue with an Asian movement which I hadn't caused myself through over-eager tinkering
  5. I'd suggest an Oyster bracelet, smooth bezel DateJust with either black or silver-sunburst dial. Not too big, not too small, elegant and simple. Ideal for men and women
  6. Likewise, I don't mind answering questions or helping others where I can, but when someone sends a message asking something, and hasn't even got the common courtesy to follow up a reply with a quick "thanks", yeah, it's pretty weak...
  7. Sorry, but Asian movements are not unreliable at all. Even if I could afford to buy the Swiss movements, I wouldn't bother, as quite frankly, they are a waste of money. An Asian movement will tell the time just as well as a Swiss movement, and should it eventually go wrong, it is cheaper to replace the entire movement than repair... They're pretty much disposable, but still a reliable product
  8. I haven't been weighed or measured in a while... I'm about six foot something, and a few pounds heavier than I should be, but not obese... Wifey took this one about a year ago while we were out, it wasn't a posed shot (although it would make an awesome author shot for a dust jacket ) Tudor Heritage Chrono: I took this one a few months ago while getting tatted up... Modified GMT II:
  9. Congratulations, my friend, I hope you'll have every success... Time for you to show those other web-assholes how a First Class business really operates
  10. Just a quick bump to let folks know that the deconstructions of the boots has begun, and it looks, like I might be able to salvage three straps from the material Watch this space
  11. I'll do what I can with what's available
  12. Not sure if there's going to be enough material to triple fold the leather, but thanks for the second vote for 24mm
  13. I've hit my 'like limit' for the day, but that gets a big from me
  14. What do you think? I won't be cutting anything for myself, as I don't really wear straps anymore, so wondered what size would be best for selling... I think you're right about 24mm rather than 20mm
  15. That's true about the insert color taking it a little further from Sub spec as a distinction I saw a nice aftermarket insert a year or so ago, which was black and silver... I guess that's the DietCoke version That's a fine piece, I definitely prefer that style of bracelet, compared to the style on the other GMT you're wearing The one on my watch was cobbled together from assorted budget bracelets: Hollow endlinks, 'push circle' divers release, and Registered Steelinox-stamped leaves... It doesn't matter if it's my Tudor Sub, a 16610 or the current GMT, they all wear the same shoes
  16. My wife's donating a pair of boots for me to upcycle into straps to sell. What size(s) do folks think I should go for? ie 20mm or 24mm I'm definitely going to get one strap out of them, maybe two... Any suggestions?
  17. I debated long and hard about installing the coke insert on mine, but eventually settled on sticking with the all black GMTs do make a fine substitute for Submariners :drink:
  18. I've lost the link, but there is an aftermarket NATO available which perfectly matches the Tudor-issued strap, and that combo really looks the business It's a nice piece, I don't know why I don't wear mine more than I do Perhaps that should be my new year's resolution
  19. The Tudors are (or at least, last time I looked at the site a few weeks back ) in their own listing in the alphabetical list. They're treated as their own brand, rather than just Rollie cast-offs My laptop was playing up, so took me a while to get the pics, but here they are On bracelet: On NATO: Custom strap:
  20. Mine came via trade, but I know WatchEden carries them. I'll trawl my photobucket and post up some pics of mine
  21. Happy New Year, brothers, let's hope it will be a good one for us all
  22. How about a Tudor Heritage Chrono? 40ishmm case, nicely balanced bracelet, looks good on other straps as well as the recommended NATO option. Nice reliable quartz movement, I give it a big thumbs up
  23. Welcome indeed, there's plenty of good information and advice here, if you have a question or want to know something, chances are someone will know
