  1. It has only 12 hour dial, so what's the problem, turn the time 12 hours forward and all is settled! With more serious tone, TC covers this kind of problem on his blog:
  2. I think I have to buy 10 gen inserts and try to get this type of shade
  3. 703 is older generation crown (5 digits) like 16610 704 is newer generation crown (6 digits) like 116610 704 is "monobloc" and my conclusion is it's better because it's crafted from single block not capped like 703.
  4. Sadly one sale on forums sale corner has brownish color. On in this topic has lovely yellowish green color.
  5. Great color on this insert! Such a lovely light olive color, just for summer. Chrono24 ad: LINK Does someone know how to fade insert to this color? Or I have to try and sunburn couple of inserts with high power UV light?
  6. Still not sold, can't understand what's the problem? Case and bezel is newer than this watch supposed to be, wrongly aged. Case engravings wrong, can't say if dial is fake but Tiffany print is wrong. Any history I try to make up for this watch, I can't because there are many things which don't add up.
  7. Of course, 40 years from now it's pretty vintage! To the point: If your friend likes more "classical vintage" look, go with 2 liner, looks cleaner. More modern look - 4 liner. Newer ones with date have all 4 liners and dials look crowded with all the text and cyclops. Look those.
  8. 16570T was later on. Z, D, Z, M (some) series has "T" after model. It means (Transitional) no holes case.
  9. I have 2003 end Y-series Exp II with papers dated to aprill 2004 and it was the last year. It's like a hybrid with holes and SEL bracelet. I think that 2003 Rolex stopped making cases with holes. But they sold still some of these through the first half of the 2004 year. That was the deal here with my Y-series with 2004 papers. 2004 second half Exp II definitely has no holes cases.
  10. I bought last summer polar version with SS band, service was done 2013 looked then like brand new. All papers and box with service card and price I paid was 3000€. With today's currency it's 3200 USD. It's 2004 model, final year with spring bar holes made and also with SEL, I was looking for this kind and that's what I bought. I think that you can buy this if service done and box and papers with 3 grand USD. Can you show the ad? EDIT: Seems like prices have been going little up from last year prices.
  11. Second to that. Case looks like it's over polished and fixed to what it should be minus all the metal. Crown guards look also off.
  12. I know what did you mean I have heard of this kind of activities.
  13. You want to tell us something about your contact with these kinds of water sports? Because I haven't no idea what you're talking about! I can only imagine :D
  14. Yellow for me when I'm doing water sports!
  15. How hard do someone have to screw back the case back? I've screwed always with my "feeling" and that's always been fine but really is there "golden" torque or something? Don't hit me in the face! [emoji4]
  16. Oh, really nice watch you got there! Don't drop it Those "green" crystals ar really not so green. Those are the same rep crystals they use on hi-end versions so beware if you buy and open you pacakage at home hoping to find GV look-alike.
  17. All pictures are lovely! Thank you for keeping our skies and land safe and after couple of weeks your definitely going to miss 29k pounds of thrust and mach 2! Maybe you even came to Estonia to Ämari base in summer of 14 when RDAF was keeping our skies safe!
  18. I was under the impression that 7836 was replacement for 9315 if you didn't want 9315 first place and wanted something else, like 7836. That I know that C & I never had a 7836 designation. Thanks for clearing that hazy info up !
  19. Production of riveted bracelets stopped in 1969 then came folded bracelets. Subs sold after that year were with the 7836 non riveted, non fliplock bracelet BUT still some 5513 Submariner watches in 1971 were originally sold with the 7206 or 7836 bracelet. Same time but not long after in the USA 7836 riveted bracelet was a replacement option for the 9315.
  20. Maybe a very stupid idea but can one use double sided tape with weak glue and use some kind of thick cardboard to stick the tape with dial onto it and after that use bow compass to draw a circle to dial? Use thick cardboard for better hold if cardboard is thin then compass needle point starts to move a little when drawing circle. Drawn circle can be bold but one can take it account. That way one can use the circle as guide to sand dial more precisely.
  21. All seems legit there at least the visual side of watch, papers and box. If he can put serial picture also on ad, to check correct engravings.
  22. I have tapatalk 3.3 on iPad Air and no problems at all. Browsing forums in any state and position. Tapatalk on iPhone 5 also works, don't have tapatalk on iPhone 6 yet.
  23. I think that Topic needs to be renamed little bit or (Having Problems) switched to (All good)
