I think that the ss watches are too heavy to have on your wrist when you work out. I wear a Casio G-shock when I work out too.
I can't work out with a watch....at least not when working chest....your wrist gets bent back, and your forearms get pumped...makes wearing a watch very uncomfortable....

LOL! no recessed pin!

7753 196

I looked at these but as far as I know the real ones now have a brushed bezel but other than that they look pretty good. Still got the wrong back with 'luminor' missing!
the gen is all brushed, case, bezel, CG and bracelet. the 7753 is totaly worht the price, but I would get a 196 or wait till for 251 2.0

You don't think it's so awesome when you get a call from your AD confirming your worst fears.
Here's the story:
I was wearing my brand new Breguet Reveil du Tsar GMT/Alarm one day, when suddenly the deployment clasp popped open, and the watch came crashing to the marble floor in my apartment. It didn't look too bad, there was a major dent in the case, but everything looked fine I thought, and put it back on and continued on with my day. Then, I realized something went wrong when the alarm wasn't going off at the time I set it, at 6pm. Neither the silent or ringing alarm was working, and I sent it to the Breguet AD in Toronto a few weeks ago, they charge me $100 to send it off to Swatch Canada.
Swatch Canada told me the watch would need a servicing, and that it would be close to $2000 Canadian, because it was a "Grande Complication" line model and having a striking mechanism dramatically increases the cost of servicing. I told them to go ahead with the servicing, and send it off to Switzerland.
Today, I got a phone call from the Breguet AD in Toronto, where they told me that the problem was much bigger than they had suspected. The striking mechanism was actually damaged, and many parts would have to be replaced. There was also a crack on the side of the crystal which I didn't notice, and Swatch Canada didn't notice. I was also told that the movement would require a few more new parts because of the shock that occured to the watch during the fall. I was told that I would need to expect the repair and service to cost me somewhere in the ballpark of 4000 Swiss Francs, 4400 if I wanted the ding removed and that I would need to be without it for at least 6 months.
To add another kick in the balls, the AD asked for an extra $100 to recieve the watch back from Breguet.
$4000 just to fix a damn watch. I could buy a crap load of reps with that money.
ouch!

LOL! does it have a recessed pin? one would hope, for what that cost (what is it $600,$700?), they could resolve the recessed pin issue
Looks Awsome though!

One thing is for sure, the 117 cases have really bad crowns (stick out WAY too far) where El's 581 case has really nice crowns.
-
if that's the case then i'm happy.. although i would like to see some more side profile pics but i haven't been able to find them.. but if it is the correct crystal then that's one less issue to worry about. the things that remain are the mineral crystal on the back, the minte hand that is a bit too pointy, the dial not being properly aligned and the flaw on the dial. most of these things can be fixed, but i didn't expect this from EL's "ultimate" fiddy... i can't wait to hear from him...
GL, my only experience with El went very badly, I hope your goes smoothly.
BTW, what watch is that in your sig? it is very kewl looking!
-
i just received EL's new fiddy and although it is a very nice watch, it's not as advertised. i did some testing and the front seems saphire but the back is absolutely mineral. i'm actually more worried about the shape of the saphire, it seems to me that it is not a complete dome based on the fact that the numerals are not as distorted as they should be and the angle in the dome isn't very fluid. i must say that i have never compared it to the real mccoy but when i compare it with josh's pics i see a big differences; it seems the numerals are more distorted and the dome in the crystal seems more fluent. I contacted EL about this but still haven't heard back from him. . could any of you who has josh's ultimate fiddy post a pic of the side view of the crystal? that way i can check if there is a difference in the shape of the dome. the dial in EL's version has some small flaws and it isn't alligned 100% accurate as well, hopefully this can be resolved as well. I am not sure it there is a difference in the shape of the case itself. the movement is beautifull and the ar coating on the front crystal is also seems very nice. i hope EL will get in touch soon and hopefully explain this which i am sure he will do since he has a good rep!
the AR coating on the crystal helps to remove the distortion...that is why a non ar crystal will have more distortion...the dome is also correct, it is suposed to be a semi-dome (flatter on the top). I have never scene a gen in person, but from everything I have read, the gen is the same like the AR coated one.

Anyone know if the davidsen 6497-2 canon (3.15mm) pinion and hour wheel is interchangeable with the Swiss 6497-1
PS: If anyone has got a spare long canon pinion (3.15) and hour wheel (2.15) for sale please let me know.
I am pretty sure The Zigmeister says - in his review of davidsens movement - that they are interchangable....dig up The Zigmeisters review and read it to be sure....

What are the main flaws that you see? Bracelet is now curved--Check, Logo is in the correct place--Check, Date window is correct color--Check, Engraved clasp and caseback--Check. I think it looks pretty darn good. Finally an ETA 45mm. When I get back from my trip, this will be on my shopping list.
bracelet is curved, yes....but the bracelet on the gen 45mm PO is wider....

bracelet is killer for me...guess I will just keep waiting....

Thanks everyoneI e-mailed Joshua...I appologize if I offended anyone by using Joshua's photo. But I did not alter the picture or remove his LOGO so I wouldn't think this would be a problem! I guess being new at this game I did not want to e-mail Joshua with a dumb question! Thanks again for all of the advice and for sticking up for me
Shive
dont worry bout it, someone just needs to pull the stick out of his a$$.....

I think it's the same watch Pierce Brosnan wore in 'After The Sunset' too.
It's the first time I liked the look of a PAM bracelet.
I was far too busy drooling over Selma to notice what peirce was wearing...

The Zigmeister charges $175
Last I heard (I think it was around last nov), The Zigmeister was "taking a break" from servicing the Asian 7750's.....has he started servicing them again?
-
In your expert opion, what is the best rep watch to use as daily beater?
I wear my Omega SMP most. (I would like to replace it with a 45mm PO though) Followed closely by my 7753 196. BUT, I am throwing a fiddy into the mix....we will see howmuch wrist time i see's

I said this 2 months ago!
Always said I would never get one with a chrono... I liked the "big" dial with very little on it. Now the chrono's looks good.
Someone yesterday asked me how many of them I had... and another friend goes "its the same watch stupid, he just changes the straps."
Guess only I can tell them apart!
My first PAM was an asian 196....I have since upgraded to the 7753 version...had it for awhile now, and still find myself checking it out when I wear it. it is an awsome watch for sure!

I think I've got the record so far....I become Medicare eligible in a week!!...And I still don't need Viagra...YET!!

Happy birthday....almost!

yeah, as has been mentiond,
case, CG, bezel and all braclet links need to be brushed. and the dials need to be recessed. I will wait till version 2.

that sux....
I have not had Joe do any work for me yet. I have spoken on the phone a few times with him. When all these anti-Joe posts began a few weeks ago, I was giving Joe the benefit of the doubt, after all, he has been sick and all...which is really unfortunate for him.
I am not sure an "apology" from him is in order, after all it is not his fault he got sick, and [censored] does happen....but it isn’t your fault either, so you shouldn’t have to suffer. you would think, from a business stand point, he would offer a discount or free future work or something to compensate for you having to wait around. And I got to agree - especially considering all the negative "press" he has been getting lately - the very least he could do is send you back your stuff for free....

Haven't seen this... You will PVD the Fiddy???
bet that will look tight!
-
they are not very thick, I'd say 4-5 mm; but still soft on the wrist and appear to be of excellent quality, I received yesteraday that one with sew-in PVD great value for $59 shipped.

Anyone has a clue for mating the PVD from the pvd buckle? water sand paper ?
someone makes straps thicker than 5mm?
