Andy, I disassembled the top side and replaced the day star driving wheel and the date indicator driving wheel. I am guessing that the red dashed line on the 7750 website is the alignment of pin on top of the wheel. I re-assembled up to the date wheel and left off the day wheel to see what was going on. With my watch in time setting mode, I wound until the brass pointer on top of the indicator wheel was resting on the pin and pressing against the date wheel tooth. But not matter how much I wind at this point, it never snaps to the next date. If I use my tweezers and compress the date jumper away from the date wheel, it will change date. My guess is that the jumpers spring is too strong to allow the date to move, however, in date setting mode, it changes normally. Any thing else I should try? -Brent

My A7750 has an issue where the date does not change at midnight or any time other than thru the quick-set. I recently disassembled it and put it back together and could have messed something up, but that was the problem I initially started with. Is there a trick to install the driver wheels? I took off the dial again to watch the action while setting the time and when it gets to midnight, the little arrow hand pushes against the metal pin, but just sits there and does not click to the next date. Anyone run into this before? Thanks, Brent

Looks like this is a common problem with the BCE where the crown won't screw in anymore. Anyone successful with getting a replacement. How do I know if it is the crown or tube that is messed up? Anyone have a spare? -Brent

Thank rolexman. Now let me go see if that is how I installed it. One other question...does the screw on the operating lever for the chrono go in tight or loose? Seems like tight would not allow the lever to move.

Assembling my 7750 and had a question about the tilting pinion. Which side faces down, the thicker or thinner end?

I am having the exact same issue with mine from PureTime. I removed the movement from the case and attempted to try and see if the crown would screw just into the case. Nope...it's definitely stripped. Did you get your's fixed yet? -brent

I am not a runner either...I mean as a kid I played tennis and sports like that...but never did track or jogged. Now that I am training for a triathlon, you need to be good at pretty much everything. I bought a new pair of shoes at a running store where they put you on the treadmill and examine your ankles to determine how you pronate. They will tell you what type of shoes you need to put your foot in the correct alignment. THIS is what will get rid of your shin splints...having the proper pair of running-only shoes. So don't give up on the running. Also, I bought the Nike+ system that you can use to log your runs and determine your pace. The stats show that if you can complete 5 runs, you will continue to run. It works with your iPod and automatically uploads runs to nikeplus.com where you can see your progress. The biking...you should probably take a look at some new equipment. The technology has changed dramatically in the last couple of years. Instead of throwing all of your money into upgrades, look for a used carbon bike that is a few years old. It will already have everything you need. Pace yourself in the beginning and don't go all out until you are ready. Also, mix it up a bit, some days long and slow, others short and quick. Pretty soon you will be having an easier time with it so you don't have to walk home. Increase your distance over time. Also, make sure you have the proper tire pressure. Better yet, sign up for a Sprint Triathlon. Give yourself about three months to train before hand. I guarantee you that once you sign up, you will train because you want to finish and basically not pass out! Good Luck, Brent

I bought a macBook Pro 17" (19" way too big for traveling) and have had no issues switching from PC. A little over a month after I purchased it, I had a problem with Bluetooth and my mouse...took it in to the Apple store. They told me there was a problem and that the easiest thing to do was to give me a new laptop. The didn't have the same processor I purchased, so they gave me the upgrade for free. I should have taken advantage of the free printer they were offering, and I mentioned that. They said no problem and gave me the printer anyway. All in all, I am very happy with my MacBook. I did purchase and install the VMWare Fusion 2 so I could run Windows, but I have to say that I am rarely on that side. Only a few programs that I didn't have on the mac side.

I received a new movement today and proceeded to install but noticed that the balance works fine when facing up but when flipped over it stops by itself. The watch is fully wound. Is there anything that I can start to look at to figure out what is stopping it? I initially mounted the dial and hands and came across this so I took everything off and it is doing the same thing. I know these movements generally come from the factory unserviced, but trying to determine if I need to send it back, tell the vendor to send me another one, or try and fix it myself. Thanks, Brent

I have been thinking about making a custom pvd flieger watch similar to avitt's and would like to source some of the parts. I tried several times contacting the vendor in Germany without luck. Do you know where I can find a Seagull 3600 Movement or Unitas 6497? Would any of the dealers here sell just the movement? Any help would be appreciated. -Brent

This is my first real replica, a DSN PAM 172, on my prototype rolled-edge strap.

What are you all doing prior to sending your crystals for an AR coating? Are you have all of the AR removed or doing it yourself? Can you recommend a quick way to get all of it off.
