not that i am an expert, but thats the v1 alright. half lume dot at 3 fixed, but still pvd coating. i am looking to get a skyland just now too, a black steel on ocean racer strap is a tempting combo, but the v2 does appear to look much nicer in black

by not bothering and chucking in a 21k 7750

used to circuit race, sold that and got an rx8. not the fastest, but handles well and is a nice place to be (i do 2000 miles a month)

its the 7751. no idea how reliable that is...but thats what it is lol

either way, check it is in stock before paying. i got mine when stock was en route (and delayed) to PT and as a result QC was nonexistant and i ended up with poor engraving on the main bezel numbers. not his usual standard i believe.

not posted for a while, but just wanted to comment that every batch seems to be different. mine has shockingly bad print on the 15/30/45 markers - left justified unlike the original posters pics. the pic above has a random date font too. shame really, but hey theres always something lol

the swiss has the right date font (or near as dammit from what i compared) and if you put the polished bracelet that is on most gens now, then glossy markers would work well. in comparing when looking to buy i couldnt see any issues, but will have a closer look when my blue comes through from PT seconded that it is probably the best rep at the mo - no blatent logo alignment problems or crowns falling off etc (just loctite the bracelet screws if you plan to wear it on that lol) and waterproof to boot. niiiiice.

i am with andreww on this one, that cqout just looks cheap. fair enough the bracelet will play a big part in that, but still, you are then left with a rubbish mvmt, no ar, short hands etc etc etc more than likely a false economy, but let us know

i was thinking of trying one of these, for 200 bucks its a steal (currency exchange wise lol) with waterproofing. if i wasnt happy with the standard i could then grab a good ultimate and swap straps, flogging the resulting 007 5th gen....

along that vein - i used to be very involved with a couple of main car racing sites. having built and raced my cars myself i really do know what i am talking about. as did a few others....dumb moderation and stupidity meant i, along with many knowledgeable people, left. all went downhill after that and looking recently it is 99% useless or incorrect info.

was this threat a call, a letter, an email?? unless it came from a solicitors then it should just be the start of open dialogue (not open on the board lol) anyway, while some are making good points, much of this thread is now knee-jerk scare-mongering and i am starting to see it as some slight hasseling for donations (not just this site either) the only reason i havent donated anywhere is because i have previously been a paid up member on a number of forums and received nothing worth my money unfortunately even discussing making a forum pay-only is a turn-off. i am grateful for a number of nuggets i have learned on these forums, dont get me wrong, but google is my friend and you may alienate a lot of people here... leave it to admin

not good news and i saw the dealers point of view last week with the prices discussion. whilst a few dealers will be a bit [censored], after the somewhat overly-zealous attack on the 4 big dealers this month i am not sure they will be overly fussed. i guess they will be able to see if being on the boards does affect their sales - i for one already know the dealers i want to use and, whilst i may miss some new releases, i am sure the excellent reviews on quality and movements by the likes of by-tor and The Zigmeister et al will continue to be able to be appreciated by as many as possible

before everyone pounces with "do a search", can i add a rider to this....andreww posted that there have been improvements in quality on these between his older black and recent orange lite versions. do we (or can we) have a list of who has the updated uPO with flatter logo & better crown for sale? eta if poss, not keen on the lite personally...

not sure i have any right to comment being a relative newbie to the game, but i have had to do a lot of research to find a 'daily' rep i would buy. the informed and backed up issues (be it mvmt, qc or price) i have read on these forums have seen me change my mind a few times. whilst i would not appreciate buying a swiss and getting a rubbish nonswiss mvmt, pricing is a dealers game. having run a business myself for a bit, competition and alliances are part of that game. overall, you need to look at what these 'cartel' dealers have offered (and still are) in the way of some qc and new models. i did limited run work myself and it is a nightmare, but alliances can be forged that way easily. this may benefit the community, or not, it is how they are developed or exploited of course. all in all, the comments made by seasoned reppers will sway my decisions, regardless of the dealers and their deals. if the uninformed wish to plough in, then let them. that way no action in itself is neccessary, but the dealers may change their attitude and supply, you never know. outright deception aside, by removing their point of sale here, it is not hard to find other avenues, so they will just f off somewhere else and what good will that do?
