  1. I think the approach of cutting corners to make it appear 7753 may work well with the factories and existing parts. This may mean that for those reps that should have 7753 but currently sporting 7750 today are a good candidate the use these 7753. The factories will likely need less parts to change to drop these in the Breitling Legende for example.

  2. This is perhaps something that we always forget to ask the dealer and maybe even afraid to ask. By the time we really need to know and understand, it is almost always too late.

So i recently purchase a nice avenger from a very good and loyalty worthy dealer. The watch arrives and immediately, i reported that there is something wrong with the movement. So it is sent back at my own cost for return shipping. Then it came back repaired and guess what? It has a new problem. The watch stops and the only way to get it started again is to start the chrono and stop - then the seconds runs again. So it goes back once again at my cost for return shipping and then it disappears into the bermuda triangle of lost mails. The package, as of today is lost. Did not arrive to destination nor did it come back. There's no tracking per the mailing instruction but it did arrive the destination on the first return. It's been 5 weeks since mailing the second return. I am offered a discount the next watch but I am out the original cost and the return shipping costs :angry2: My point for posting this is to prevent or reduce this from happening in the future.

I guess the first question is what is reasonable and fair return policy? Should this be something that is agreed to up front i.e. terms and conditions?

  4. I picked up a watch magazine at a book store and there is this big article on the CEO or head of swatch group. He (forgot his name) has been telling everyone for years that they (swatch) will stop providing movements to anyone except the big watch houses. Apparently it will come into effect in the next 2 years unless the court stops it...something to that effect. Well there's a lot of thing that can happen here and one is that there would be less watches in the market and may drive the price high...i doubt this would affect the rep world though....or does it? Anybody hear about this story?

  5. This came out late last week. Saw it in Trusty and PC site in the other sections....low key as it was not splashed in front page.

What are your thoughts and how do these 2 versions compare with the original? One thing I noticed is that bezel maybe REALLY screwed down from the inner case back (i.e. somewhat like the AP). You can see the opposite screws when the case back is open. Also, this is the same movement used in somne of the Bentley models. Lacking in the pics is how well the date window and mag was done in this rep and may just be the deal breaker for the super rep status.

    Check it out:

  6. What gap? Not aware of any gap that needs to be there until now. Two piece baton? Really? I have been looking at the pics for a while and did not even notice it.....but then perhaps most of I was looking at were reps :) Even then, I still did not pic out the baton thing until now. Does not bother me and mine's on the way.

  7. Cougraree is right. The local AD is definitely your best bet. The shape of the lugs also matters. Case in point, the Santos 100 chrono has the lugs sitcking out a bit in comparison. Then the thick leather strap prevents it from 'hugging' your wrist so you have this gap on both sides. The SA lugs are pointed downwards and the bracelet wraps around your wrist so although it is big, it hugs your wrist. You have to check it out from the AD.

  8. @Allergydoc - that is indeed a very beautiful watch. This is the 2009 version with the baton marker. I prefer the arabic marker. The detail in your picture is stunning. Would you do the honor of doing the review on this new version? Not to put you on the spot :)

  9. Very Nice!!! The top 4 pics look hot. Wonder when we can see a decent rep on these.....I hope they don't come out with sunken datewheels!!! So far, it is the number one killer for me.

I can see that they have updated the Legende as well....but may suffer the sunken DW cancer :(
