1) Buy the Noob v7 with SA3135. (aprox 400 USD) //
2) If/when the movement dies exchange it for a genuine 3135 with genuine date disc (add aprox 1800 USD) or a hybrid Yuki3135 with genuine parts (add aprox 1000 USD)
// 3) Get the hands and dial relumed with BGW9 Grade A (add aprox 200 USD)
// 4) Get a good modder to mod the solid end links as they have too much material (the SELs aren't recessed like on genuine, instead they are flush.
5) Exchange the crystal for either a genuine 25-295-CAR-V3 (add aprox 300 USD) or my preference a ProfStef non-cyclops double AR Crystal (add aprox 150 USD)
... Now it is a 1:1 (but still has some tells)
I would only do 1 + 3 + 5 to start with

Has it the same dimensions as a 1530?
Not interchangable...

Well...
Your best option would be to pick up new pieces that correct the parts lacking.. I know of JF have a good sunburst tone on their YM's therefore I presume that you should try getting a dial from them. The bracelet, try getting the links from a BP 116613. And last, the insert from a Noob 116613. A trusted dealer e.g. SEAD can help you.

@hologramet I found two flavors of that buckle, and got both, shipped, for under $25
ShweeeeeeeetDo not underestimate the power of AliExpress... However, one must almost be fluent in engrish.

I agree about the dial, just plain weird. Sold as refinished. Is it a Yuki or something? The hands? Obviously not gen flat hands.
I didn't spot the SD bezel ass at first nor the t39, thanks!

That one is pretty sweet, a lot of bang for the buck for 99 USD 43 mm, should tingle your Breitling-senses.
Get it relumed for the remaining "100" USD.

Thanks A LOT!

Rats! I'm looking for the original engraved buckle and Watchstation has them but I don't want to deal with WU or bank transfer.
Anyone have one of these buckles for me to complete the look? Here you go, http://www.aliexpress.com/store/916501
Let's mourn our "loss" together!

Thanks guys for the sweet feedback! Most of the work is RJ's, not gonna take credit for this fantastic guys work! Not anything new exactly, but he has my highest recommendations. Always surpassed my expectations.
However... Come on... SOMEONE must have 1 set of "4 fixed links, solid, Cartel"-93150, to redrill and redo one end of the bracelet. Please!?

Sweet!
The big question is... Mod a Yuki3135 with gen parts, or go for a gen 3135...

Maybe you've seen this one before you think. Well almost.
I had a 5512 PCG on MBW-base that I finished with help from Rolojack about 6 months ago. However, my friend liked it so much, and I had a spare 7928 dial, so... This is the sequel.
The question was, is the Cartel/JKF-whatever a good enough base? Almost.
Watch: "Cartel" 7019/7928-ish tudor w/ 2836 = (apox 230 USD - aprox 100 USD sold parts) = 130 USD
Dial: Vietnam 7928 26mm gilt = picked it up for about 120 USD, "usual price" aprox 250-300 USD
Hands: TC 16613-hands w/ lollipop TigerConcept seconds hand, lumed by Big Daz = 60 USD incl lume
Insert: Yuki fat font w/ Athaya pearl, lumed by Big Daz = aprox 70 USD
Movement: ETA 2846 = non-hacking and "low-"beat, from donor watch, aprox 70 USD
Crown + crown tube: Athaya 700 = aprox 30 USD
Bracelet: WSO 580 + Cartel -fixed "93150, with solid link" + BP ceramic sub Glidelock-clasp and remaining links = from spare parts (will be replaced for a Noob v7-clasp) = aprox 100 USD when done
Crystal: Forgot, however it will be replaced to a CWP T19 = 50 USD
--------------------------
Rolojack did most of the work. I reshaped the PCG's a bit more, also buffed and polished the crown and caseback. Also thinned the bezel in height and flatter, as the Cartel-bezel was not even close to 5512/7928.
What is left:
- Clarks/WSO 5512-bezel ass. Haven't decided yet.
- Drill another Cartel "93150" as the tolerance is so low that RJ was unlucky (of the 4 he has done, only one turned up like this). Anyone has a spare one? Pretty please?

Not bad for 630 USD in parts cost? Right?

I figure it's negative relief like this one on dbane tonny 5510Nope, not negative relief gilt...
It's in the same "level" . I've checked several dials with 20x microscope .

The diameter issue is the whole issue. ?
Cutting or not cutting the Rolex feet doesn't matter, not real Singer dials anyway.
Also, it will be negative relief. The one above isn't. The last part is unusual. Hopefully they will get it right.
Last but not least. They will be unlumed because I've had several dials arriving from Vietnam with lume plots that have fallen off completely or broke in pieces, also their lume looks great, but since the Tempus Machina dials are my biggest interest I want the base work to be correct so real pigment can be applied so the lume quality not only looks is good. This isn't as important for the 6538. I almost forgot, the brassy color in the picture above is too yellow. Compare e.g. the Tudor 7928 and the 5512 below. The 5512 is too yellow. Looks synthetic.

250 USD unlumed, that is, with white paint base coat to put lume on.
-
Well done.. I Chris, you just keep improving!
I feel some what proud to have been the owner of the first RJ 6538.
If we had some more buyers for the custom 29 mm ETA 6538 I worked on this summer (and the Tempus Machina 216A and 809H) the "last piece" to make the HR 6538 great would be much more accessible. No more Yuki and HR 6538 printed "gilt" dials...
-
Then maybe I'll go with this one..
Is the case gen spec?

An Explorer would be nice, but what could be done there except for chamfers on the case, drilled lugs, gilt dial, gilt hands and domed sapphire?
Everything except for domed sapphire ain't hard to get done.
Just do it yourself?
Otherwise, regarding plans, you could always ask the man in question, a hint might be looking at the tattoos he has and search for the user.

Any updates on the 4130-modding?

That Tudor - what a beauty:)
That's my baby...
Gonna change the caseback, have Joe do custom engravings on a sterile one.
Change the pearl to a vintage creamy one.
Last but no least, finish the work on a WSO 580 mated with solid oyster braceley finished with a modern Fliplock. If I wanna go more vintage correct, I'll throw on a leather strap.
