Gotcha... I don't give up easily and it's hard for me to say, but I think you may be right.

Suggestions on the best place to source a quality rep?

    Thans!

All the trusted dealers can get basically the same stuff.

You pay less or a more depending on the customer service, website etc.

My favorites are Torobravo, Sead (Supermirrors).

    Good luck!

Please correct me if I am wrong, from all the photos of gens I saw, the 6 and 9 should be the same when one is turned up side down to match the other. It seems like yours is not quite there.. SmartSelectImage_2016-09-04-23-58-51.png

The 3-6-9 is straight off from the original dial, the unchanged. That is the result of the angles of the original dial.

There's no point in nitpicking small details. The dial will not be a clone. The same goes for the gold-plated look of the dial. The best possible to replicate will be a brassy gilt tone.

Remember this is a 400-ish USD copy of a 2000+ USD dial.

  3. Beautiful!

I admire your pursuit for that extra in this case "click". Maybe time to finally pick one up..

Still a  Maxi LV dial and handa,  no cyclops sapphire and LN. Pure magic.

  5. Sweet!

A big tip is using several different dials and pics to create an as-clear-qs-possible picture.

Maybe you find a super Swiss on a good 6538 dial. Maybe the coronet is clearer on a 3rd dial etc.

Don't think I have to teach you tips as you've gotten really good.

Also... Burn and the Dodge tool are you're best friends along with Adjustments/Levels :inverted:

I am new here and want to get some help. I want to buy the black edition of this watch with 904L steel with 3135 movement. Can anyone help me to give a name of a trusted seller please? Or the best Submariner Black Ceramic the newest update. Thanks to all.

    1) There isn't a 904L steel version, and there's no real point with it either. 316L is good enough.

    2) Check trusted dealers e.g. www.intime.co www.torobravos.xyz www.puretime01.com etc. The one you want is the Noob 116610LN v7 SA3135 verison

  7. Sorry for triple posting this, but since there are several threads regarding my Tempus Machina builds, I figured.. Where should I write it?

    NEWS

5 dials of 216A and 5 dials 809H are on the way. On ETA-feet only.

    1) Noob v7 114060 is only available with A2836 (as far as I know)
    2) There would be another MOQ of 5 dials to make 5 3135-dials.
    3) I can't find any sterile dials on 3135-feet for an accetable price.

Currently reverse-"engineering" the 809H dial using mix and match of segments from different dials.

Hopefully a small "group buy" can be made, checking with Nanuq as we speak. Why? Well last time I made dials with HR and had them lumed by Big Daz I lost 400 USD on making an extra set of dial + hands because someone who really wanted one, then fell through. I donated this set to the forum and i think StoneP is making a simple 216A for an upcoming raffle.

    Price:

    1) About 200 USD unlumed per piece. (+ shipping)

    2) Option: Possible to add lume with real Superluminova C1 "puffy"/"creamy". Price approximative 100EUR incl. shipping
    > The deal is BYOH (bring your own hands). Lume of them is included in the price. BP-hands 116613/8 with ETA size can be bought at the same time as the 114060 (so add that),
Why? 1) they don't use Superluminova 2) their lume plots have a tendency to loosen during shipping (2/8 dials I've received have had this problem)

    ----

    The small print:

I'm checking with various modders on the forums to see if I can provide a "whole" package for those interested. That means I can arrange a price with different guys (hopefully), which makes it much simpler for them and for you. This to provide an "all included"-price so you know what you're getting in to.

    To clarify:
    1) I will only get dials made, as there is a MOQ from the shop.

    2) This is not an attempt to make money. All the hours I've put in to the dials and details would have since long bought me a gen 114060 if I would have worked instead. But what's the fun in that.

    3) As we all know, I can only guarantee that I do my best with the sketches. I can't promise anything when it comes to the results they produce, neither can I promise anything regarding the lume job. However, you can rest assured that it's in my best interest to get it as good as possible. Since I don't know of any other option to get these dials done in gilt and on ETA-dials.

Therefore, this is just an show of interest... Still up to Nanuq and/or rest of admins/mods to give approval before any cash what-so-ever is moved.

Nanuq has given the go sign, I'm going to map up a smart way of doing this with a realistic time schedule.

    Hologramet,

Can you repost the file "Tempus_Machina_dial_BW.pdf"? When I download it it seems to be corrupted and won't open in Acrobat. Thanks

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's an Adobe Photoshop pdf (actually psd) with embedded fonts.  Try opening it that way.

I'm on vacation so unless someone else can upload, that's all i can offer for now.

I hope not. I really want to see this idea come to fruition.

    Anyone interested in joining in?

    My final recipe will be:

    1} Noob 7 114060 SA3135

2} Yuki3135 with decorated bridge and franken upgrades // Serviced and modded by Rolex watch smith

3} Custom Vietnam dial in the style above.

    4} TC 11613 gold hands

Above parts lumed/relumed by Big Daz and/or Vietnam guys w/ gen Vintage Superluminova

5} Athaya Twinlock 7mm crown and tube

6} Relumed pearl with Vintage Superluminova

    7) Modding of midcase, bracelet etc.

    8} As for crystal...

I think I found the one!

    http://m.ebay.com/itm/111949154458?_mwBanner=1

    29mm crystal

    Double-domed

    Blue AR

    30€

    400 + 1000 + 200 + 25 + 120 + 45 + 400 = 2190 €,  and that includes a lot of overestimating.

I think you underestimate the amount of time that goes into one of the 809H cases. Those pointed crown guards are no easy feat, especially considering the little amount of material they have to work with. I personally have never seen anyone attempt such a mod, and certainly not pull it off with such precision and excellence as TM has. Grinding off crown guards is one thing, but reshaping them with such detail is an entire other ballgame.

I have seen plenty of of 216A copies, and no offense to anyone here or elsewhere (quite a few on instagram) but they don't come anywhere close. I shudder to think what we'll see when it comes to repping the 809H.

Ask yourself this, if the work they do is so easy, how come they're the only ones doing it?

    Quite simple actually.

They were smart and decided to use the best redialer in the business and found a way to turn his almost perfect work into a premium venture without p*ssing off the whole vintage Rolex community.

    The dials are the key.

The remaining modding of the cases is beautiful. But it's way overpriced.

Why is no-one else doing it? Well..  1) TM have exclusive rights to Mr Superdial 2) They were first to turn it into a modern vintage piece actually playing the part. 3) Their timing was right 4) They are very good at marketing/PR.

Aside from the dial... Where does the extra 25000 - 6000 - 2000 = 17000 USD come in?

    P. S.

There is way more meat on the SubC than on a MBW 5512.

The latter wasn't that hard to turn into a correct PCG, by me an inexperienced modder with access to tools for about 40 USD.

Yet again. With the correct tools,  and the correct modder we are talking max 1000€ for the case work.

If I'm wrong, please correct me.

    Quick update.

I've been wearing this 5512 with a genuine 7206 rivet bracelet with a "66" stamped clasp. That was only meant to be temporary as I'm saving that one for a future '66 Bart dial 5513.

So l've recently acquired a mint condition "62" stamped 7206 bracelet that now more accurately matches the serial date range of my case as well as the caseback. Now this project is complete complete. Really.

Those buckles are very nice on a good vintage leather strap.

Here is the 16mm I bought on the bay few days ago.

The crown is better than yuki's in my opinion, seems closer to gen.

And a friend give me a 20mm buckle, but I don't know the source. Maybe a Yuki, compared to your pics.

I think the 20mm buckle is from me?

In that case it's from zhouleistore and costs somewhere between 5 and 8 USD I think. I use them on my MoD-straps.
