First post is now politically correct. 😇 -- @Nanuq I'm pretty sure it's spelled e-x-p-e-r-i-e-n-c-e and not cheating. -- Here is a rough go-through of what is done to the bracelet. FInished result: Crown relief is deepened so it becomes more clear and "better pressed". This us done with a ultra-pointed diamond file, then polished with different grits of sandpaper using toothpicks. I tried using an engraving on Dremel to do this, but it's hard to control the depth and tooling marks might appear. Also adding lines further back on the crown . All sides are softened with 3 grits of wet sandpaper, then the rivets are filed down. They are very protruding and an instant-tell on VN-bracelets. Afterwards a whole lot of polishing with white, blue, pink and finally yellow polishing roguw. Same with all details in the clasp. End links are adapted to fit the case. The red arrows point at already hammered/adapted (and stock... oh boy) but still protruded links. Green ones are finished. Afterwards heavy polishing of backside of the links, to soften all corners and "melt/bend" the links even more for a fully flush fit. Rebrush by hand with 3 grits of abrasive bloc ks, afterwards fine polish of the side-plates for a polished edge. This one is supposed to show stuff I already wrote above.

Funny you said that, Because I had actually planned to do so people understand the tedious work and the level of detail. Couldnt care less if someone else does a watch bracelet 1h. I could say I can do one in 10 min. But I need/want 4 hours before it achieves the level of perfection i want. some teasers (not all the hands, remaining are in transit) Can anyone see the anomaly? Which hand doesnt belong?

After some extra consideration. All proceeds from this project will be donated to the forum OR 1 watch head for something like a raffle for all VIP+ members with 6months+ or something like that. Need to do a final calculation in the end and discuss it with admin/mods.

my tip is dont bleach at all. use Bergeon ultrafine abrasive block 5444A. Never use sandpaper. Mount the insert in a bezel on a watch. (Ye this will also soften the bezel teeth a little bit, if this is a problem use a separate bezel). The bezel protects the external border (If you can create a recessed fit before starting. and the plexi protects the internal border. Put more pressure on the outer parts. Slowly. Slowly. Slowly. When done, try adding heat with a stormlighter with circular moves. As soon as you start seeing brown tones. Stop. ThIs removes most of the shine, and makes the colors way more natural. @jackflash I would recommend trying it as I know exactly what you mean with the purple tones.

Here’s the ”best recipe” currently: Nowadays it much easier to make a good enough-5517. The crown guards are the weakest part, but Helenarous case is quite close. There wasnt a good 5517 insert until about 6 months when I helped Ruby getting it right. The genuine 5517-insert I have helped Ruby get the closest so far, the serifs are not 100%, but se are talking tiny 0,1mm serifs. And that is good. Otherwise 5517-inserts would be impossible to differ from gen. The build would be something like this: —HelenaRou case (bezel ass. And crown/tube arent up to standards, but c’est la vie, wont use them anyway). Have Vietnam engrave it correctly underside of the lug + caseback. Rubys is Also very good... but still... the crown guards. —HelenaRou custom printed dial (they have the correct dial layout) ask them to just pad-print white text and white plots for lume background for ETA-plate. —-Vietnam bezel assembly incl correct insert —-Genuine Omega SM300 hands —-Michael Young Superdome T19 —-Athaya pearl —-Athaya 7020 tube and 702 crown —-I recommend a Tissot Powermatic 80 lowbeat-2824-2. —-Custom lume-job in Vietnam of hands, dial and pearl ——Removal of date complication and conversion to single-hack crown stem ——Custom aging of insert ——Custom reshape of especially crown guards. ——Get a vintage MOD-strap (or modern Phoenix) admirality grey or as I recommend Phenomenato instead. Here are 5517 macros (that are based and can be used for Regular "Mk3" if you alter a tiny little bit here and there). Red triangles are all Tall5, here are some semi-macros of my Tall5. Note that serifs are not as pronounced as Mk3. EDIT: Also... I would advise to try to find an ink that doesn't end up superglossy or turn blue when brushing.

Light heat-treatment to give it duller more tropical colors, also thinning the insert for a sunken fit. This takes aprox 1h/insert and does not involve bleach or ending up with circular scratches. It has taken me at least 20 inserts before I found "my" method. * I'm the master of puppets, i do the contact, quality check, price discussions, group buy-part. All I see is a bunch of lightweights......... I removed all pictures from my competing days. Dont want to compare myself to something unhealthy and destruktive. 110 kg shredded and dry. All those preps probably damaged my single kidney (didnt know that then). And thats what a few years later led to my acute renal failure. Its not like you go and do a CT of the abdomen symptomless just for fun. First my lowest point at 74 kgs (hadnt touched a weight for 3 years, hadnt weighed that Since I was 13 yo). Body was back in internal shape. 4 weeks 6 weeks 8 weeks 12 weeks (With mockup of tattoo getting done next week. Emerald instead of Ruby. And a glowing cigar instead of a bullet.) 14 weeks and then divorce happened... All the above is without endrocrinolog enhancement. Just shows how once satellite-cells have dividend and created new functional units, without training sure.. atrophy is to be expected. Now I haven’t trained more than 5-6 times since the divorce in april. 74 to 87kg and down to about 83 kgs and Id say about 8% to 12% bodyfat and varying degrees of water retention. But phtsically feeling great. I started reeeeeally slow. E.g. 3 sets a 8-10 100 kgs deadlifts. By week 14 I think I was pulling about 155-160? Just in the process of building a ”real” home gym in the basement with a full power cage with max 280kg on the straight bar and 60kgs on the dumbells so there is plenty of potential and Im really looking forward the coming 6 months.
