  1. That's flippin awesome !!!!! I'm sure I'll feel the same way when the V3 comes out.
  2. Thanks guys. I really appreciate the advice. Waiting on my friction ball to get started.
  3. So after about 2 years of buying reps, started with cheap reps from China town in New York to now getting the best of the best from TC, Angus, Toro, etc. I have decided to take the jump and start making some of my own repairs and band replacements. I have a decent GMT II Blue Dial with Blue Ceramic insert. It's probably the nicest rep I got from my days of buying reps in China Town NYC. I'd like to replace the movement as the watch has recently stopped working. I am looking for a bit help. what movement should I replace it with? Where is the best place to get movements? is a friction ball good enough to remove the back and put it back on properly? Or should I invest in some proper case openers? Any other help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
  4. @positivitony, I have Diver V6 that I am extremely happy with. I have had clients with the Gen AP's compliment me on it on more than one occasion in the last couple of months. Keep in mind that these flaws are so minimal, that only the trained eye can see it, even when closely inspected. My friend who owns a Gen AP Safari had no idea. It's only the group of us that are on the rep forums that can tell. So assuming you are not around a group of educated rep buyers it's very hard to tell. I have spent hours, days, maybe even weeks over the last year or so on the rep sights reading, searching and more reading. You can make yourself crazy with all the details that 99.999% of people in the world would never be able to tell. Buy the watch, wear it for a few days and see what you think. My guess is that you will love it and probably not mod it all. If you don't like it, then sell it. Somebody on this site will snap it up quickly. One last thing.... Keep in mind that Diver is a 15K to 20K watch. So to truly pull it off, you have to able to afford the gen or at least the people around you believe you can afford it.
  5. I got what I think was the last one from Toro. Maybe it was a return or a repair.
  6. I'm not super psycho about the most finite details. Just don't like dead giveaways. As far as money? If I like the watch and it makes sense to clearly make the watch nicer, I would spend the dough. But if the band, dial, and case are all good to go with no real giveaways from basic view on the wrist, then I will satisfied. BTW, I was able to get one.
  7. Still shown on his web site. Probably just needs an update.
  8. Thinking about pulling the trigger on the AP ROO Montauk Highway V2 from Toro or Angus. I wanted to get the opinion of the experts on the overall build of this watch. What are the must do mods for this watch assuming there are few. I unfortunately don't have the time or the patience to find all the parts to build a Franken and have Domi build it. Although I may just have to find the time a learn to be patient. Thanks in advance for the feedback.
  9. congrats!!! Nice looking watch. Be careful though. This is a very addictive hobby.
  10. I was leaning towards the Noob, but the green lume is bugging me since the blue is what the gen has. Now I'm not sure what to get. Thanks for the pics GenTLe
  11. Pure time has both Noob and JF, which I believe is J12 factory. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. just go to new arrivals and they are one the first page. Green lume on Noob and Blue on JF. Does anyone know which is accurate?
  12. I'm not an expert, but you could buy a TC and swap out the black insert for an LV insert. Just not sure the best place to get an LV insert. I can tell you that my TC sub is fantastic, Not a single complaint.
  13. I looking to get a GMT II Batman Blue and Black insert. Any thoughts on the differences between the Noob and J12 Factory newest releases? I have typically been a Noob fan, but recently got an AP diver V6 from J12 and really am impressed. Not sure which to get. Noob is about $75 less btw. Any knowledge of the watches would be very helpful.
  14. Beautiful watch !!!! Do I dare even ask how much it set you back??? OK..... how much?
  15. Does anyone know if case changes have been addressed? Or just the pushers and dial change on the same old cases? This a great article explaining the Changes on 2014. http://www.watchtime.com/wristwatch-industry-news/watches/post-sihh-2014-6-new-audemars-piguet-royal-oak-offshore-chronographs/
  16. I got a good roller ball from Trusty not too long ago

  18. My 116619 LB Sub Noob A3135. I know stainless really doesn't exist in the Gen world, but I love the blue.

  20. First off, mucho props to members of this forum. I am new to it and want to thank you guys for keeping me to 3 AM for that last couple nights. I could use some help in finding a reputable repair shop/watch guy. I need a repair on my Rep GMT Master II and a service for my Rep Daytona. I'm willing to ship them anywhere in the states or take go to a local shop/watch guy in Los Angeles. I am also patient, so I don't mind waiting for the right shop/watch guy. Thanks in advance for the help
