well, i did have a choice and chose the 091 as my first genuine pam. the 091 may be considered an odd duck to the panerai collection but in my opinion it is the nicest! no matter what other people say, you ultimately will be the one looking at it everyday. simply choose the one that you love. panerai's retain good value and if you change your mind down the road and can't really afford another one ... sell or trade yours in. here is a quick shot of mine. enjoy ...

hey gran, i just thought of another place that i loved to go to in toronto. it is called le marche movenpick. it is a very cool restaurant that you need to go to. i always went there on my visits to toronto. great atmosphere and a great assortment of food! i'm not sure if it is strictly a toronto thing but this one is located right downtown on younge st. anyone there could point you in the right direction. have fun!

very interesting post. i have a (rusted out movement) genuine rolex that i am going to be turning into a frankenwatch one day for my wife (see pictures below). she doesn't really want it ... but she's getting it! anyway, i was doing the same thing just the other night. only difference is the watch was a datejust with a jubilee bracelet. luckily for me, the watch fit her on the smallest possible size fitting with screws. i am curious to know if this could be done with the jubilee bracelet as well. if so, i might try it because the clasp could be a little better positioned for her. thanks for the tutorial. big watches on girls is hot! watchgrl, you need to get a pam 049 now. that will be another purchase for my wife that she doe not want. lol. i love it.

@ sssurfer, i really haven't been on rwg much lately. my interest was sparked recently when i received my genuine pam 091! the story of how i got it is crazy. so many factors that should have made me run away ... but it was a gut feeling that made me go for it! i didn't really explain it in my original post ... http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...amp;#entry70754 because there was no real benefit, but believe me ... i dropped 3 g's and was sweating for two weeks. anyway, to get back to this post (and show off another picture of my watch) here is another shot of the watch box. anyone feel like gambling?

@ robideaux, it looks oem to me. my recently purchased genuine 091 came with this exact same box. i am at work now but here is a poor picture from the actual auction. good score!

i have collected panerai reps for one year now. less than a month ago i came across a suspicious pam 091 on ebay. this has been my dream watch since i discovered panerai. the watch sold and was re-listed within a few days. i contacted the seller and asked him what happened? he claimed that the high bidder refused to pay so it was listed once again. on a whim, i offered him $3000 for it. to my surprise he said yes and added a buy it now option. this made me even more suspicious as, even though it is pre-owned, this is less than half of the retail value. i decided to bid first and ask questions later because, if this is legit ... this might be the deal of the century. after getting past my impulse bid, i drilled the seller with e-mails and phone calls, still not completely satisfied that i wasn't being ripped off. i decided to take a chance and sent payment. two weeks later this arrived in the mail with all documentation etc. needless to say, i am excited! it is in excellent cosmetic condition and looks awesome. if it sounds to good to be true, it usually is ... not this time boyz! all the best.

david, stop showing off! lol. i actually bucked up and bought a genuine 091 as well. i got a good deal on a pre-owned one and it should be here in a week or two. can't wait! i'll be sure to post some pics once it arrives.
