  1. sometimes simply tightening the two screws on the crown guard helps. be sure not to over tighten and strip them though. not sure about jimmyfu.
  2. check with me in about a month. i have some spare panerai parts coming and might have an extra 40mm crown guard for sale. all the best.
  3. happy birthday buddy. here's a wrist shot that i'm sure you miss from time to time. all the best and have a great night!
  4. good but not great. and is it just me, or does the "5" look slightly higher than the "1"?
  5. flavor flav, i special ordered a pink gator from banda for my wife. the problem is my measurements were way off. she has small wrists but this was simply too small. it may not be right for the radiomir as it is 22 x 22 at the lugs but would be perfect for your next daughter project. the lengths are 50 x 90. if you want it ... pm me your address and i'll throw it in the mail for you. it is pictured below on the far right. all the best.
  6. check out the taikonaut military straps, high quality and comfort. see link below ... Taikonaut Website
  7. the best deals i have found are right here in the bahamas. the local ad automatically knocks 10% off the retail price and everything is tax free. it's very hard to find deals on panerai as the mark-up is very low compared to rolex etc. i added a genuine pam 091 to my collection last year. it was pre-owned and serviced by panerai before it was sold. i couldn't be happier! here is a shot of my 091 and my bros 220 ...
  8. i'm looking at this seiko samuri for one of my buddies. looks like you can pick one up for around $250.00.
  9. nice post! if anyone has a pam 091 wallpaper ... please post it here. i've been trying to find one for a while. thanks in advance!
  10. here's my stats ... www.hockeydb.com
  11. looks like discontinued model 010, only set in titanium compared to the genuine in polished stainless steel.
  12. for me, it would have to be the pam 048 and 049. i am trying to get my wife into panerai with these models and ordered these specifically because of the date font. the dates on my other panerai's suck to say the least. my brother bought a pam 050 about two years ago and the date is awesome ... very comparable to the genuine. all dealers still show this bold date font in their photos but in fact, there is a new version of this watch that doesn't have the bold date font. see pictures below for reference. it is just frustrating when you are expecting one thing and end up with another date that is hard to read. i removed the dealer logos from the stock picture on the left and my picture is on the right. i must have captured the date at the perfect angle because it does not look that good under regular circumstances. you can also see with the side by side comparison that the one on the right is not as bold as the one pictured on the left and what i thought i would be receiving. anyway, you asked for it. that is my latest disappointment. have a nice weekend everyone!
  13. i'm more interested in the "marina limitare".
  14. just showing off my wife's pam 049 on a blue oem gator. i highly recommend picking one up ... it really adds to the overall look. all the best!
  15. took a while but that is very clever.
  16. the only problem i have with the 172 and the 036 for instance is that they were special editions. there were only 300 units of the 172 ever made. unless you've got over $10,000.00 to spend, the chance of you owning one is slim to none. with that being said ... 95% of people do not know what panerai is so it would be easy to pull off. in fact, my first good rep was the 036 and the reason that i bought it was because it was the closest to the genuine. little did i know at that time there was only 200 ever made. lol. if i had it to do over again, i would go with a 176 or 177. ultimately you have to go with what you like best. a lot of people don't like my choice of the pam 091 as a genuine because it is quite far from what most panerai's look like. but when it came right down to it, that was the one that i wanted and i am 110% happy with my choice. good luck and please let us know what you finally decide. here are the specs of the 172 from the panerai website ... http://www.panerai.com/s_special_editions....id_categoria=48
  17. a couple of things that i see is the seconds mark missing at 9:00 and the "l swiss made l" should be split by the small 12 under the 6, not under it. as far as the caseback, i'm really not sure. with that that being said and quoting vincent vega, "i don't know if it's worth five dollars but it's pretty f'ing good". and that's coming from a genuine anthracite owner. all the best.
  18. yes, but the dates are brutal. if you are going to buy a rep, i would buy a model without the date. the date is a dead give away and is nearly impossible to read. again just my $0.02.
  19. first off, welcome to rwg! for a guy who has collected reps for a few years now ... i think you are better off saving up and getting a genuine. collecting reps becomes an addiction because it is only a few hundred dollars here and there. look ahead and times that few hundred into ten watches and you're now in the thousands. last year i was able to pick up a pre-owned 091 for $3,000.00. i jumped on the offer and man, am i glad i did! the watch had just come back from a full servicing by panerai and looked brand new. it blows my mind every time i wear it. i still wear my reps but i can honestly tell you that there is no better feeling than strapping on the genuine. everyone will have a different point of view but the truth is that there isn't a perfect panerai replica out there. and if there was ... it certainly won't stand the test of time like the genuine. in closing, if you can afford it ... go for it! i hope this helps. here is a picture of my genuine 091 and my brothers genuine 220 ...
  20. in fact, i say without question a panerai 49. let's face it ... big watches are in and they look extra hot on women! get her a 49 and buy my blue oem alligator strap seen here. it retails for $250.00 ... i can even take a picture of the combo together with my wife's 49 if you'd like! all the best.
  21. after repping all week, i broke out the big gun for the weekend! mine is the pam 091 on the left, beside my bro's 220.
  22. my horse came up a little short but congratulations to all. so turkey, which watch are you gonna pick?
