  1. Ive lost so many tihngs in the carpet under my work bench... hands, pearls, movement parts, stems, springbars and even a gen triplock crown believe it or not.. its on the floor somewhere but I cant find it haha dizz
  2. He'll never get $200k for that thing. It must have been through service somewhere.. insert and pearl dont match the dial and hands, and shouldnt the datewheel be silver? Looks white to me. If it was sent to RSC then there should be paperwork mentioning the bracelet?? dizz
  3. All the loops do it keep the actual end link in place. The bracelet itself is attached firmly to the springbar. If both loops broke, worst case is the endlink would be loose and flop around.
  4. I've got the same piece from a Noobmariner bracelet if that would work if you cant find anything else. Im sure you could massage it to the correct shape. I can throw it in the mail if you PM me your address. Dizz
  5. i honestly cant remember what a MBW clasp looks like. Im sure i have one around somewhere but i wouldnt know which is which....
  6. Submariner bracelet is supposed to be hollow link. The WM9 and noobmariner are probably the best bracelets and clasps.
  7. I broke my loops off a set of endlinks from wholesaleoutlet990 that were supposed to fit 2mm bars and a 1680 submariner... yeah right. While trying to force the springbars into place, one of the loops broke off. I was thinking 2-part epoxy as that would give a little bit of a "spacer" also to move the bars into the correct position. dizz
  8. Yes the case was made by the Keystone watch company and it has a snap on caseback. Ive had the watch running for the last 12 hours and its keeping VERY good time. The last service engraving that i can see on the caseback is from 1961 so who knows how long its been since its been cleaned. @Automatico - This one does have what looks like a removeable bezel but so far I havent been able to get it off. Thanks for the link to the GS crystals. Thats what a few guys on VRF recommended also. Too bad these old watches are soooooo small, as it would make a cool watch to wear on special occasions. I did initially buy this watch to fix it and flip it, but It will probably end up going to the GF because its much too cool to sell, and considering I got it for next to nothing because the guy said it was "broken and an old piece of junk" cheers Dizz
  9. well technically the ceramic bezel wont scratch, but im sure it will crack if you smack it hard enough. It should stay shiney and new looking for a long time assuming yours is actually real ceramic material. dizz

Thats a very nice Tudor. I remember when these gens were cheap. Now they have gone up in price just like the Snowflakes.
  11. its about 26,30mm. I havent pulled it out yet to get an exact size and how its attached. It looks like it has a bezel that is removeable so that might "free" the crystal. So far the movement is keeping good time so thats a bonus. Hopefully servicing goes smoothly. The case ref # is 4297286 stamped on the inside of the caseback. "Keystone watch company" made this case for Rolex. Keystone also made cases for Omega in the 40's so that may be another direction for me to search. I looked on Ofrei's FAQ section and it says the caseback reference # is what they need to find a crystal so we shall see. I started a thread on VRF to see what those guys have to say about it... Dizz
  12. You guys with the good ones are lucky. Mine died after about 2 weeks. I would LOVE to have a reliable Daytona. Maybe I should buy one and have it sent immediately for graphite servicing... Seems to be the best solution. I know the mainspring on the copy is weaker than the ETA version. I wonder if a gen ETA mainspring will fit the A7750? Does The Zigmeister do the graphite treatment? Anyone in Canada do this? Dizz
  13. I bet that one still goes for over $150.. They are expensive these days. The PT bracelet is good except for the clasp, The MBW 93150 is not too bad. I took my PT bracelet and put a modified Noobmariner clasp on it.. turned out ok. Ive been buying gen bracelets lately for my better projects. NOTHING beats a nice old Rolex bracelet
  14. Thanks guys! Anyone happen to have a crystal for one of these laying around?? I hope I can find something... Dizz
  15. This isnt really my cup of tea, but i came across it through a friend and thought it would make an interesting project. Its a little bit of Rolex history, but unfortunately I know nothing about these old models. This is pre-Bubbleback stuff from 70 years ago! Movement needs a service, but it does keep excellent time right now.. Anyone know where to get a crystal for this thing? Its aprox 1941 and the case was made for Rolex by the Keystone watch company who also made movements for Omega during this same era... I emailed Ofrei and hopefully he can find me something.. Heres some pics of how it looks today after i picked it up.. Its a 31mm case, and here you can see how small it is compared to the gen datejust case at 36mm underneath it.
  16. I guess it depends on what look you like... I like the big dome look of the t-39. I even put a t-39 superdome on my 1680 that I just finished.. you "low dome" boys probably wont like this one then hahaha
  17. you can still get them. The ones in the PT vintages are most likely taken out of other watches and or refurbushed.
  18. t-19 isnt tall enough for the sea-dwellers thicker bezel. Superdome or flat top.. its up to you. The flat top was generally used as the service replacement crystal at RSC.
  19. OMG dude... the Vintage Rolex Forum!! I live there! lol
  20. How the heck do you get the metal to round over to make a rivet shape? Those pins are super hard steel and i cant get them to do anything except bend. Do you use a blow-torch or something to heat up the metal? Maybe i should break out the oxy/aceteline cutting torch... Dizz
  21. Of course a gen crown looks and feels different. Thats why we all switch to them. The crowns on these new vintage reps are absolutely terrible. The are much much to wide.
  22. Clarkes is on ebay. Gary is awesome and i prefer his crystals to the others ive tried. The good thing about Gary is he sends you what you actually order, and hes good with email communication.
