  2. Beautifully done Ziggy! I wish it were September!
  3. greetings all. yes, this is my pam's coming out party and my first ever panerai. i am extremely pleased with the watch and the masterful job Flav did on the modifications. i would not only like to thank Homer for the crown and certainly Flavor Flav for his artistry and the great photographs, but to all the RWG members who have been so generous with their opinions and advice since i joined. ...first pam but certainly not my last. ps: one correction - the strap on the watch is a MF the watch is a BMF; if you know what i mean! vlydog
  4. Great advice Kruzer! I am responsible for a few scratches myself and I am very patient. I did not know coated screwdrivers were available. Do you know of a source?
  5. Wish I was the master of my domain! Happy Birthday mate.
  6. What swiss movement would be compatible with a project like this. In other words same size case, no second hand etc.
  7. Is this the strap that came with the watch? If not, where did you find it?
  8. Hello, I have been trying unsuccessfully to view all the results of this post. It won't allow me to view past #4.

    PAM 219

Would this also mean that the lever on the cg would have in function in the opposite direction as well? Could the crown guard be spun around to function normally?

    PAM 219

Thank you, V Would the conversion be as simple as turning the dail around?
  12. Does anyone know if this PAM model has made its way into the REP market. I love this left-hander's model with its simple brown dial.
  13. I recently viewed a post where someone included a "look here" link that brought you to a vintage looking IWC magazine advertisement. The ad had a women pilot in the background and an IWC auto pilot chrono in the shot as well. The watch was sporting a black leather strap with white stitching. The taper of the strap seemed to size-down significantly after about 20mm from the lug. Sound familiar? vlydog
  14. Has anyone measured the crystal of the 3717 pilot?
  15. I would like to express my sincere thanks to deltatahoe and pugwash for their time and generosity on this project. Way to make a new guy feel welcome! vlydog
  16. Eunomians, dluddy and Kruzer00 thank you for your opinions. I think I can put this issue behind me now. I will now plan the modifications for this watch to be a relume, day/date replacement and a movement swap. Thank you for your sound advice. vlydog
  17. Thank you, I think that is what I will have to do. The trouble seems to be that the Rep cyrstal with have some degree of AR on it already and would have to be removed if you plan on using that crystal. I don't want to do this myself. This is why I planned on getting a seperate non-AR cryatal to send off to chieftang.
  18. hello all Can anyone tell me where I would find a sapphire replacement crystal that does not have AR for an IWC 3717 pilot? I would also need a part number or a more detailed description for ordering. What I want to do involves a watch I have yet to receive. This is all in preparation for mods that will be done later this summer. I would actually like to go ahead and purchase an extra crystal without AR. My plan was to put it through with Chieftang's next run. I don't have the watch so I can't just pop off the crystal and measure it. If anyone knows the size and parts number for this crystal I would be grateful. IWC 3717 pilot. Best regards, vlydog
