Rolex DeepSea SeaDweller from Replicamake
plaifender replied to AllergyDoc's topic in The Rolex Area
wow... $88 you can't beat that! great piece -
Hey guys, just got back from a weekend in Barcelona visiting barbara. She's doing somewhat well and recovering from her surgeory. She was very positive about the whole ordeal and was great to see her and her family. They were able to remove 2 tumors but discovered a third during surgeory. The third tumor was inaccessible and they might try to get it next month. In any case, as soon as she's able to start eating solid foods again in the next week or two they will be headed back to bolivia to be with family and take it from there. The next step will be to begin further treatment either there or possibly the u.s. after spending some quality time with loved ones. Anyways.. barbara sends her gratitude and appreciation to all of you guys here on the forum. I told her about all your kind words, thoughts, prayers and energy sending Thank you all for your support

A replica is a copy that is relatively indistinguishable from the original. A fake is anything made to appear otherwise than it actually is; counterfeit. use whatever word you want. My old neighbor in atlanta had an original Shelby Cobra. He also had a "replica" one. I guess you could say he also had a fake shelby cobra, but words have a lot more than definitions behind them. They inflect personal feelings and emotions when used. Why say the word monkey.. when you could use the word primate.... Why use the word snake instead of serpent to describe someone...??? You know the answer to your own question. It's pointless to argue why we use some words with certain connotations and other words for other connotations when in the end, they may have the exact same definition. Homeless vs. Vagabond vs. Hobo. Wine-o vs. Alcoholic Booze vs. Alcoholic beverage etc. I don't get where you're trying to go with this question....

keep your eyes peeled in the sales section. These often pop up around there. I recall two or 3 modded topguns being sold in the last several months. Also check out Repgeek and rwi. I love this watch too and have often thought about adding it to my collection Go to an AD and try on the gen as well. See how it fits on the wrist

ufff.. hate to see stuff like this. Albeit slow, trevor's an all around honest guy and will set things straight with a tag like the one you received. He mentioned that his wife is also going to give birth soon. Hopefully trevor will take heed of this thread and step it up when it comes to email responses. If these kinds of things become too common, it would be a shame. Good luck with your situation Akilles and I hope trevor comes through in the end.

Fahgetaboudit I'm from New York..

depends on which watches you're talking about. A solid gold Audemars Barrichello rep goes for 5,000usd... haven't seen anyone buy it.. but reps can get quite pricey. Hublots shot up to over $1,000usd a year or two ago, luckily they've gone down some. Some dealers like BK and (previously) mbw modify watches for you before you get it. A BK modified yacht-master is around 700 or 800usd.(i think) But is the best of the best without getting the real deal. Do your homework and stick to dealers on here. We've had several members go to china, Some even live in or near china. No one ever comes back with anything better than what the dealers offer, and Not to discredit your enthusiasm, but you probably won't either. The seasoned collectors here know what's what among rep watches and most of what many senior members find in china is usually not worth the hassle. But it's always fun to look. The best stuff is reserved for the dealers that we have here on the forum anyway. Good luck on your trip and enjoy it. -
Depends, in the first few seasons he wore a breitling emergency with radio signal beacon. In the newer episodes he wears a Bremont ALT1-P... I personally like the bremont better, but the emergency seems a bit more rugged in my opinion

AP Newbie looking for some major help please
plaifender replied to ozz's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
Gold plating would not be very cost effective and sadly it wouldn't last very long with daily wear. To my knowledge there are no Royal oak chrono reps available in gold plating with bracelet. Go stainless. AP parts are also not the easiest parts to come by, hence, when you do come by them, they are often very expensive. The most common franken AP's i've seen are almost all Royal Oak Offshores.. I'm not sure about a RO chrono franken.. maybe there's one out there.. Good luck with the project if you decide to do it. -
Check out this video.. man... incredible information.

Thanks a lot nick. Haven't been able to reach Barbara's husband over the last few days. Only thing i know is that she is relatively stable right now and that they might be returning to bolivia/colombia next week to be Barbara's family. My wife and I are going to drive up to barcelona this weekend to see her in the hospital. I'm not sure how the surgeory went, and if they were able to get rid of all the tumors on her intestine, but I will let you all know. Thanks so much for all your support. Support like this is what makes me proud to be part of such a great community!

thanks guys for all the kind words, wishes, prayers and positive energy. I'll share this thread with barbara's husband to let him know he's got people all over the world sending positive thoughts her way. Barbara had surgeory last night and me and my wife are still waiting to hear about her status. I appreciate you guys and the support you're willing to give. This community really is a special place.

Had no problems from him, although some have mixed feelings. Although he has a reputation to be a little slow to respond, he seems to always correct any problems that may occur, IF they occur. He definitely is an approved dealer here.

Hey everyone, The wife of a good friend of mine was diagnosed with HPV several years ago. She was diagnosed with one of the more "high risk" types of hpv that can adversely effect the cervix. two years ago doctors found malignant cells on her cervix and since then have been unable to control the spread of the infected cells. They gave birth to a beautiful baby girl a year ago while his wife was in a dormant phase. This month doctors found 2 malignant tumors on her intestinal wall and fear that nothing will stop the cancer from spreading. His wife has been in constant pain for the last 2 weeks and she's been on a morphine drip to curb the horrible pains. As a last resort a very courageous doctor from Barcelona has decided to try and operate this morning. The chances don't look good and my wife and I are understandably distraught by the whole thing. I've been speaking to the universe/god/higher power about the situation and hoping that all will be fine. It's not in my normal form to ask for prayers from others but my hands are up in the air at this point. If you feel obliged, I ask that you keep my friend and his family in your thoughts and prayers today as they operate on his wife Barbara today. Anything to help my friend out. thanks for your support -R

If it were that easy to source only the logo.. EVERYONE would be getting this mod done. A genuine logo is a lot harder to find than a Genuine dial.

are the 21j (Asian) movements really this bad?
plaifender replied to ilovetrains's topic in General Discussion
funny enough I've had about 4 watches with asian "21j" movements and all of them have kept perfect time. I only have one now (chopard GTXL) that remains in my collection since I've made an active decision to only buy Gen ETA movements now -
edit: after dizzy and diesel's comments, the photo does appear to be photoshopped, hence i wouldn't trust it. The watch looks to be genuine though

I'm organizing a group buy on this crystal in the coming weeks. I, (with the help of a couple other good members here) have been looking for a factory that fabricate a custom-cut, high quality, sapphire crystal with AR coating for all of us. So the answer is: you can get one through me as soon as I let you guys know. there's a thread for interested members here: (this is NOT an official buy thread, just a thread for me to gauge interest)

no prob, not your fault. I know the amount of information and rules on the forum can be overwhelming! but thanks for taking heed

Everything you wanted to know about watches...
plaifender replied to hackR's topic in General Discussion
I would like to see exactly how our reps are made from start to finish. Factory conditions, storage conditions, tools and parts used.. all the way from assembly up to shipping.... That video would be sacred! -
illegal post...... You're required to sell watches in the For Sale forum. And also to follow the rules of selling(which are posted in that forum). You must provide pictures and also a piece of paper next to your watch with your signature/username written on it. This is for everybody's protection. If you'd like to sell the watch privately that's your perogative but you can't use the public forum to solicit interested buyers for a private sale... p.s. please take care to read the forum rules on selling. Not doing so could get you suspended or banned

hahah.. what's up exper! thanks man. i'm always tryin to help out a bro in need! When's the next dubai GTG????????!!!!

no one knows what? Firstly do some research. Some movements are only available in asian versions (for the most part). For example. ANY chronograph watch you get will have an ASIAN 7750. There are barely any chrono watches that come with Swiss 7750 movements. Most Swiss standard ETA movments are available in Asian clones. If you want a swiss ETA movement in your watch instead of an Asian Clone ETA. You should simply ask the dealer you're thinking of buying from whether or not the watch is available with a Swiss ETA movement... Very simple

Sorry I'm just now seeing this response. Interesting views you have. Sound like the typical regurgitated talking points I hear everyday on Hannity and the O'reilly factor. (I'm a viewer of both, I agree with O'reilly about 70% of the time and Hannity about 30% of the time) No need Cheif. What exactly will visiting a border state hospital enlighten me to? So you're saying I'd see a lot of latinos? That's obvious. Visit a south west atlanta hospital.. you'll only see a lot of poor blacks and latinos. Sounds like you're assuming that because most patients in a border state hospital emergency room will be latino, that they must be illegal. Unless of course you visited a hospital and went to the medical director and asked him specifically how many of the latin american patients you saw had were illegals that couldn't pay. Same could be argued about a lot of things. Like the 2nd amendment. If you compare murders with guns from 1792 to murders with guns in 2010.. i'm sure you'll only see the curve go in one direction... UP! Nothings gonna change it, we love our constitution too much Birthright citizenship is just as much a part of our country's identity as the right to bear arms. If not, more important. What exactly is he "doing" that will make anything worse than it is? You mean not giving pharmaceuticals unlimited control of medication prices? Not sure if you got the memo.. but by a WIDE margin, the sickest people in the country with the highest disease rates are generally not the richest... they're the poorest. Skewed how by the left how? Infant mortality is what it is. The numbers are calculated the same for every country. Each country has an equal amount of "handicap" with the statistics, so you're saying that our infant mortality rate isn't painting a 100% accurate picture of our country? Neither is any other country's infant mortality rate. Don't get me wrong Chief, I'm the first to admit our country is the greatest nation in the free world. We've got a lot to be proud of and a lot to be honored for. In my opinion there is no freer country than the home of the brave and land of the free.. But don't get caught up in the hot-air being spewed out by the American media machine. If you've got bright ideas, let them ring. Otherwise, you're just preaching to the choir.
