  1. So then, just make sure to not wear any AP's, Hublots, Brequets or A'lange & Sohne reps and you should be golden (as a general rule )
  2. thoughts and prayers to you and yours from Spain Ken!
  3. sweeeet! although it was a shame we didn't get to see a WRIST SHOT of your WRIST SHOT!
  4. Apples and oranges. The DSSD is the obvious work horse. With an ETA-2836 movement you can't go wrong. just double check to make sure it's GEN eta before it ships. The watch is indestructible and i'd put it up against a Cousteau Diver anyday. Although the Cousteau diver is labeled a diver, any diver's watch with chrono function is just posing in my point of view. On the other hand, the Aquatimer/Cousteau line is very elegant and really classy. I love the design and have always wanted a slevin on bracelet. If workhorse undestructibility is what you prefer, go for the DSSD. With regards to Prsist's comments on the DSSD being "hot" at the moment, i'd keep that comment relative. The cousteau/aquatimer is a classic and has been around a longer than the DSSD, on the other hand. So yes, at the moment the DSSD is very popular ON THE FORUM.. but in real life, i think both watches are a moderately rare sight to see on wrists. (be it rep or gen). If you have to really choose between the two, and you're looking for a true diver's watch, go for the DSSD. If you want something a bit slimmer, less chunky, less heavy and a little bit classier (as far as sports watches go), go for the iwc. Whatever you do, show us pics once the watch is in your posession!! Good luck
  5. by all means. WEAR your rep to work (as long as you don't work in an authorized dealer).. but shipping to switzerland is usually a problem from what i hear. Get the watch shipped to a friend in france, germany or Austria.
  6. great to have you here! congrats on your first two purchases!
  7. Had mine for 1.5 years. great watch
  8. Thanks for the response Val, where do you usually get your watches serviced? I've used Francisco several times, but since I'm located in spain it's very convenient for me.
  9. Just my favorite watch on my wrist
  10. damnit chrono didnt know u were in seattle. i was there this summer a couple weeks. my grandparents live there and i spent every childhood summer there with fam (both my rents are from there)
  11. ahem... That's why I'm asking here Panerai.. To see if anyone has experience with a specific person in switzerland.......

  13. Is it an automatic watch or quartz?
  14. I really might have to get myself one of these.. This is really nice!
  15. Can't wait to see them
  16. Have a friend who lives in Lousanne, Switzerland and would like his watch serviced. He's from Lyon, France so he's often travelling between both places. Any help would be appreciated. I've referred him to francisco, but figured I'd ask if anyone knew of any shops that could perform work on a Asian 7750 in those areas. thanks in advance, fender
  17. would love to see pictures once you get it. Not a fan of the dial, but interesting none-the-less
  18. Congrats on your 1 year!
  19. Big shoutout from Madrid. Welcome to the forum!
  20. Welcome to the best place on earth! Have a look and ask questions! just make sure you do some research before asking
  21. Torrents all the way... I must admit, that if i'm only looking for a single song I use limewire... but my music hunting is usually done by albums. For anyone looking for cheap, legal music, I often use Soundike.com for music I can't find on the torrents. It's a 2.0 version of allofmp3. You pay .15cents per song downloaded plus you get discounts on certain albums and for depositing money in quantities higher than $30. 1-2 bucks for an album is worth it if you ask me (depending on the artist)
  22. No idea about movement height etc., but the movement in the UPO is an ETA-2824 not a 2836. If you're looking for one, you can find them new on EBAY for around 100 bucks. The Seagull ST21 is almost a direct replacement for the ETA-2824 and costs around 75 bucks. I'm no 100% sure but both movements should be a direct drop in for your watch no hand modification necessary. Hopefully someone else can chime in here and confirm that though. Good luck with the project! i'm also putting a franken upo together... I got alll the parts just need to get them put on the watch!
