yes there is a difference.. Usually if you pay more.. you get a swiss 2824.. the lesser priced movement is an asian clone 2824 (90% the same as the eta). at least.. that's what i gather from the info you posted..

Refinishing pad for larger surfaces, and a refinishing pen for the smaller stuff. Look on ebay. you can get a set for around 15 bucks

some people are fiends for lume.. but i think it's the least necessary mod for me personally, since whenever i wear my watch there's always some sort of light source around to see the dial. If you want your watch glow like a torch, then you've answered your own question.. If you personally don't care whether or not you can see your watch in the dark.. then don't get it lumed... It's all a matter of taste

That's awesome S! cool video! i love the music

Great to see you here. This is definitely one of the most addictive hobbies you could ever get involved in haha. In the UK, you've got Narikaa and Ptswiss. Both excellent dealers, even if they're not as heavily used as some of the other dealers, you'll find very few complaints about either of them on the forum Good luck and don't hesitate to shout anyone a holler if you got any questions after THOROUGHLY reading.

It's an excellent watch. VERY accurate to gen. If you get it you won't be disappointed

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chrono
plaifender replied to plaifender's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
Same size screws.. same size case. As the ROO. This IS a ROO but with 3,6,9 dial and stainless steel screw down chrono buttons, the case is a pure Offshore case except for the chrono and crown gaurd. This watch is definitely a 42/43mm offshore -
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chrono

update: i picked up this watch finally -
not sure about domi. Francisco is very reasonable. Of course the prices depending on the movement type, IN general it is NOT usually recommended to service some of the cheaper asian movements, but some of the clones, and all of the 7750s are recommended to service. You should expect to pay anywhere between 50 and 100euros for a full service for a chronograph movement from francisco. If you have a non-chrono automatic movement, you should expect to pay less. The best way to get a price is to contact francisco and ask him directly how much he would charge for a specific movement service.

Is the use of a blackberry a wise thing to do during driving ?
plaifender replied to Cats's topic in The looney bin
So glad you're ok. No checking emails while driving! tisk tisk. At least it wasn't as bad as it could've been! great to hear about your watch though! -
Domi is great, Francisco is located in spain as well. His member name is "francisco" As far as AR is concerned, cheif is considered the best, although I also know a lot of people that are really happy with the results of 2geek. His turnaround is generally a LOT faster than chieftang so you'll have your crystal back sooner, and you wont have to wait so long for a run. The quality is supposedly on par with chief but not as "colorless" as chief's Good luck!

Ok.. So finally got the watch. I can tell that my end links are completely flat.. like a Royal Oak instead of slightly curved endlinks like on the Offshore. I definitely have a 42mm Offshore case, so my question is whether or not a bracelet will be compatible with my case. Any idea? I am a complete AP dumbass, but i'm CONVINCED on getting a bracelet for this thing! anyone that can school me on different cases etc.. for the ROO?? Secondly, when you buy an ap bracelet by itself does the new bracelet come with end links to attach to the watch lugs? Here's pics of my newly aquired piece (notice the flat end links): The bracelet i'm considering:

Really expensive to service a rep. Like KRPSTER said, you can get a new ETA movement for that much. Where are you located? If you're in europe.. i got some leads for you.. otherwise, not sure who else you can use besides the trusted forum dealers..

fantasy.. as in ... the only thing in common with the original is the basic dial pattern... This model is obviously inspired by the limited edition titanium Paris Boutique.. but I'd be very hard pressed to call it even close to a "replica" of that watch. For that I consider it somewhat of a fantasy AP. Besides the color scheme on the dial, everything else: (case size.. subdial lay out, hands, datewheel, case material, caseback) have NOTHING to do with the original watch. It's a nice watch, but there's no watch even remotely similar to this made by audemars piguet.. thus.. it's a fantasy watch to me hahaha But yes MBJOER, I got what you meant p.s. @MBJOER- The lume is just O.K. Like ALL genuine Audemar's Piguet watches, there is no Anti-Reflective coating on this watch. Not sure if there's ever been a Gen or Replica that came with AR on it, although I have to admit, it would really make the dial on this watch pop out!

Finally Got it! Subdial at 6 won't center.. but Hopefully once it's serviced it'll be perfect. p.s. anyone else that have this watch know if it's supposed to be push or screw. Mine seems to be push.. but looks like the tube has threads to screw.. since the chrono pushers are screw.. i found it weird that the crown doesn't screw... in any case.. it pushes in all the way and doesn't come out. ... not sure edit: mine is a screw-down crown.. i got it to screw down about an hour ago by accident.

Hey guys, Just got my first AP after 3 months of waiting from Lacenta (AKA. Torobravo), who's a dealer here in spain. Needless to say. i've been waiting for this watch for quite a long time! Overall, very impressed, and it's pretty much exactly how I expected it. The rubber is quite stiff and when on my wrist i don't like that there's a gap between the strap and watch at the lugs. The watch he sent has a pretty big mess up, and it's that the subdial hand at 6 o'clock is not centered at "zero" it doesn't reset back to zero, and it's kind of annoying. In any case, i think i'm going to live with it rather than send it back to lacenta and risk another 3 months of waiting. I get all my chronos serviced anyways, and this watch will not be an exception.. especially since it's an older A7750 21,600.. (apparently famous for breaking down!) Anyways.. that's it. Now on to the photos: opinions are welcome

nice to have you hear. Stay away from modelizer though.. he's always starting trouble around here!

if you're friend has a "gen" with non-working subdials he got a horrible deal. The watch is eithe fake.. (and a BAD FAKE). or it's a gen with a busted movment. In either case.. your friend shouldn't have paid 1300 for a watch like that. Get a UPO and you'll be happy. Probably the best omega to date. since it's 90% compatible with all GEN parts. Research a little and read some UPO reviews. You won't be disappointed

DSSD V5.9 Swiss ETA 2836-2 from Trevor Time
plaifender replied to plaifender's topic in The Rolex Area
man... no idea.... Number 1 and 3 look like they've got nice and tight lug ends.. as well as centered datewheel.. without closeups it's hard to tell though. Pick one and make sure he gets you proper close up fotos of the watch before he sends it. Obviously it's a lot to ask to have him take close-ups of all 8 watches... I'd pick number 1 or 3... but it looks like a stab in the dark! -
haha.. dream on... especially a bracelet model such as this.... don't think the factories have ever fabricated a titanium ap bracelet.. or ever will let's keep hope alive though!

If you're not from the states, this is a very common albeit in my opinion, unsafe, norm across america. Traditionally in a typical 4 way stop, since lights often change so fast, you're almost required to wait out in the middle of the intersection when making a left turn at a 4-way stop(unless you have dedicated light giving you right of way. This gave both Upland and the at-fault driver a significant blind spot. After having lived in europe for the last 5 years I can tell you that this kind of thing is almost impossible here in spain. Number one, because almost all intersections are roundabouts or "round-abouted" intersections. Almost never in spain will you make a left turn with oncoming traffic also sharing a green light with you. It's illegal in spain to even make a right turn on red at an intersection. Glad you walked away unscathed!

DSSD V5.9 Swiss ETA 2836-2 from Trevor Time
plaifender replied to plaifender's topic in The Rolex Area
My eye isn't as keen as Jkay on some of the issues he mentioned. I can't tell if the bezel is tilted or not.. but if the watch has a bad clasp or rust.. simply let trevor know that you'd like another one. That's why he sends these photos, and that's why it's important we take these QC photos seriously and scrutinize them to a "t". Trevor's a good guy and I think there'll be no problems to get a watch in better conditions. p.s.. the only flaw mentioned by jkay that you will have to live with is the flat pearl. that is not a QC issue and is inherent to this version -
