  1. looks like it! wow.. the 4th gen will no longer be a grail watch... if it's even just a little better than the 4th gen, this will probably outsell the UPO 45.5
  2. Thanks a mil Max! p.s. when did the term SMPO start getting used, i've seen it a few times recently, not sure if it's just you Maxman, but the term PO is sufficient don't you think?? No reason to further confuse folks with SMP vs. SMPO etc.
  3. mirror polishing brushed or blasted titanium.... not an easy thing. The bead blasting sounds completely feasible though
  4. the ipad detail is the only cool part. Would've been cooler had he integrated a Samsung Galaxy though haha.. (yes, i'm an apple hater)
  5. spot on about the crown not closing evenly or the dial moving when pulling out the crown? or both? p.s. the alamo!!??? I'm not from texas! The battle of the alamo was about independence of Texas from mexico! At which point, texas won, and became a Nation. It is the only state within the united states to have also been it's own country.
  6. Welcome aboard Nitrous! Start reading and getting to know the place. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
  7. I'd love to see that Chic!
  8. Firstly pete, I think I get it. So the tube has a spring in it that pops the crown open when the lever is released?? Or the opposite: The lever has a spring pushing the crown closed when the lever is engaged? Secondly, I'm not a yank! I'm from Atlanta GEORGIA, home of coca-cola, delta airlines, and CNN! we're southerners and not Northern Yanks! p.s. I get what you mean about the crown not pushing down evenly. This happens on my PAM253. Another weird thing is that when I pulll open the crown my dial moves slightly to the right... maybe my movement holder isn't well tightened. ????
  9. Go for the UPO and franken it. It's an absolute classic. Just gave mine a gen crown, tube and crystal laast weekend. First watch mods i've ever done myself . Very happy with the results :
  10. AGAIN, your watch is not the same model as in this post. Your bezel numbers look correct. You're 10 on the Bezel even looks centered., but it looks like you have a V5 DSSD. What is exactly wrong with the watch you're showing. Looks like a perfect example of a DSSD V5. The V2 shown in this thread is horrible. Your watch is nearly perfect..... why are you posting your V5 on a 2 year old V2 thread anyways????
  11. i was mistaken.. I'm just now getting back to this thread. Wat did you ever end up getting the better version of this?
  12. whatever happened with this maars?? did you end up finding one!!???
  13. @ Naeems Do you have any idea how long good tutorials and reviews even take Naeems? Sometimes several hours or more.... Granted the tutorial is a simple Bezel insert replacement. Asking By-tor to do a tutorial for your own pleasure is kind of self-centered don't you think? Besides.. the forum already HOLDS THE ANSWERS! To answer your question.. Since you can't seem to find the answers for yourself. Take the small blade of pocketknife and very carefully pry it under the bezel insert and very carefully work your way around the bezel, it should come off.. It's only held on by glue.
  14. Watch looks great smithy.. but are the hands gen also. or did DOMI modify them to fit the SWISS 7750 handstack?
  15. hm... what exactly is a springloaded crown.. I'm no pam expert!
  16. I COMPLETELY AGREE with you Max, you hit the nail on the head. I wasn't directly referring to Naeems either, but I do hope he reads this, and realizes the truth to what you mentioned Maxman
  17. Love that vid. Very nice! p.s. SQL.. how are you getting along with all the record temperatures for fall in Poland!?? Last week 12 people died from cold related causes and it's not even winter in poland yet!
  18. crazy... absolutely incredible. The car is hideous in my opinion.. but the gadgetry is amazing!
  19. I hope naeems doesn't turn out to be one of "those" newbs. He's nice enough, but doesn't realize that his posts and requests for information and instant gratification can be seen by lots of us vet members as the typical "hit and run" posts. Why even take the time to respond to Noobies like that, when everything they'll ever really need is already archived on the forum. - “Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired.”
  20. amazing. GREAT writing there!
  21. welcom Ca12bon. YOu've foudn the best forum on the planet. A wealth of information on this community. first things first.. Read this: and this: Read those posts first and you're off on the right foot. The information here can be overwhelming.. but with a lot of reading and some good research using the search button, things will get easier. If you ever need any help don't ever hesitate to give me a shout out. Again, welcome to the board. Now get ready to spend some cash! hehehehe
  22. I find it interesting that when you had a previous question about polishing.. it took me literally 30 seconds to find a post relating to your inquiry and respond to you. My question to you: Why could you not find it? The search function is far from perfect but never-the-less is the key to you finding your wealth of information here on the forum. I've been a member here for a few years and more than anything, what you might think of as a little innocent question turns out to be a question that has a LOT of history on the forum and has been discussed COUNTLESS times before. In many cases, lots of people's time and hard work went into these posts, and for you to simply ask for people to regurgitate that information back to you again, is kind of inconsiderate. The reason the information is on the community is for it to be here for future use to people. I'm not saying that topics shouldn't be discussed more than once by any person.. but I AM saying that you shold make an "honest" effort at trying to find out some information for yourself, especially on topics like the "UPO", "submariner" etc. I mean you DO realize that the UPO is quite possibly one of the most popular watches in replica history right? If your questions had indeed pertained to an Breguet or an A Lange & Sohne watch.. maybe I'd be more understanding.. but 85% of your posts are about UPOs.... I mean come on.
  23. naeems missed it because he wasn't looking. He wants answers to come to him. he doesn't want to search for them
  24. The case back has nothing to do with replacing the insert... Andy's instructions were clear. Use a credit card or knife to carefully pry the insert off of the bezel. Again.. this is very easily searchable. Again Naeems... do some research. For someone that asks so many questions... you're pretty bad at finding answers. I've looked at your posts and 99% of everything you've posted on this forum is a question. This community is about contribution. You haven't even thought to take pictures of your watch to share with the community. Nor have you even had the courtesy to welcome any newer members to the community on the introductions board. Every post you've posted has been a direct question asking for help, yet you contribute nothing. Not even friendly comments or inquiries on ESTABLISHED threads that would often answer your very question. Why don't you start to think of this place as a community, and not as your personal problem solving database. I know I sound harsh, but I really have no tolerance for posts like yours.
