  1. cool O.T. this is interesting...
  2. the "self-winding feature"... is called an AUTOMATIC movement. Take it up with josh and I'm sure he'll make things right. Your problem is not a general problem of the watch, it sounds like a specific problem with your specific movement. p.s. Does your watch not function? low power reserve? Does it start and stop? Some symptoms could help us identify your prob
  3. I think I'll be getting one of these pretty soon
  4. Signumboy, almost every dealer has this watch available with updated Dial. edit.. this watch appears to be genuine.. I was mistaken previously
  5. yes a rep is available.. not very accurate.. and not very sure about the quality http://www.1-pc8838.com/pn00401-marina-swiss-unitas-6497-p-793.html

Welcome to the forum Morganwell. Do your homework and you'll be enlightened.. The answers are here for your to discover not for you to discover, not for us to dictate
  8. Kinda cool... the question now.. is will everyone use the tags!!??
  9. hahah..SUPER FUNNY, but very old. At least a couple years Was on in spain quite a while ago!
  10. I agree that maybe an everyday wristcheck is a bit overkill. We could possibly try to enforce a limit of a once a week check or something similar. In regards to the forum.. I've also noticed that we're becoming the more VETERAN oriented forum on the net currently. Lots of our guys have been here since the first days of RWG1. I think our forum is possibly a bit more intimidating for noobs because of the ratio of qaulity/content post ratios here. But seriously, on a forum of over 20,000 members.. I can't imgaine that there's not more people taking photos of their watches than us Vets. Any noobs that can give us some input on this subject?
  11. I'm curious as well!!!
  12. Welcome to the best internet forum on earth! read read and read! if you have any questions don't hesitate to shout me or anyone else a holler! great to have you here! -fender
  13. Hey y'all, Was thinking about this earlier this week and figured I'd post my thoughts. When it comes to wrist checks.. I LOVE THEM, I don't always post, but try to very often. I'm starting to realize (yeah.. after almost 4 years of being here), that it seems like we're always the same basic group of guys posting. Noobs almost NEVER participate, and we're a forum of 24,000 members for crying out loud. In my opinion doesn't seem like there are more than about 50-100 peopole that post at least once a week, and in general a normal post includes the watches of about 20-40 people. The majority of which are all pretty classic, conservative but beautiful rolexes.. an ocassional pam, breitling or omega.. barely ever any iwc's (besides the 3717). Barely ever see any B&Rs, APs, Corums, Oris, Tag.. etc. Not sure If i'm being clear, but everything posted tends to be your standard standard fare, with not much diversity.. (due to the fact that the same group of Vets often post!) My question... How do you guys think we can garner more participation on the Wristcheck posts? I'd love to see a lot more watches.. and interesting photos. Changing the thread to a continuing thread... a weekly thread.. a monthly thread? keep it as a daily thread? Not sure.. Any ideas? shoot! Greetings from Madrid! -Fender
  14. I'd have to say you're wrong andrew. The watch above is a V3.. and has DLC coating. The tell is the "1" numeral on the bezel which is open instead of "angled". The V1 of this watch is standard pvd and shinier, darker and also has the same incorrect "1". This came up last week somewhere on the board.. and I thought there were only 2 versions as well.. But it turns out that there is 3
  15. add your name ipreferpie You can do it, you're a big boy
  16. yeah.. start searching some posts a little more recent!!!! almost 5 years old!
  17. Yes you're correct. The term "clone" is used by us to describe the Chinese Seagull movement that has high compatibility with the Swiss 2824 movement. Seagull is a chinese movement manufacturer that produces high quality movements based on swiss complications. But I think there are even clones of the Seagulls! As you can see it gets quite complicated when it comes to movements. In regards to your last statement, Josh can be trusted, and is a trusted dealer here. (one of MANY). So far, it appears that Josh and Andrew are the only ones offering the new PO 42mm, but many might be following suit very soon. As Jkay and others have stated there's confusion out there, but the ETA model is probably your best bet if you plan to make this watch a keeper Good luck!
  18. +1 and it just looks sooo sweet
  19. My new old favorite!
  20. Think you're uninformed. The question has nothing to do with see-through caseback or not. The movement issue is quite complicated. The basica Asian 21j is not a copy of any ETA swiss movement. It's a basic chinese movement that costs about $20 new from any watch supplier. The ETA swiss movement is also readily available online and from many suppliers. An ETA-2824 can cost from anywhere between $90-140usd new and unused. The ETA clone movement, is a chinese movement replicated by chinese factories often based on the ETA-2824. The movement is generally considered very good if serviced and many parts of it are interchangeable with the Swiss models, although not many. The ETA7750 is also "cloned" in a chinese version, although it's not nearly as close to being a clone as the 2824 models. In my opinion, going for the GEN ETA is always a good move if you think you're going to keep a watch for quite a while. With proper servicing cleaning and lubrication, the swiss movement could last you a lifetime.
  21. Another fairly glaring flaw: Rep Bezel numbers are much too thin Thanks for the comparison! I've always liked the chrono version, never had the balls to get one though!
  22. Contact mary by email or private message. You can find her here on the forum. I'd also suggest you contact by-tor directly to confirm where he got it. Not sure this version is still available. I'm not an expert of smps, but the chrono might be similar to the regular SMP in that the good versions have ceased to be fabricated. Contact by-tor to find out. Good luck!!
  23. not an expert, but looking good!
  24. POV5!!!!!!! can i copyright it if it becomes common use!????
  25. don't like the whole uPO vs. UPO often times I simply don't use capital letters to name watches.. PO v5 seems clear to me.... no one else is with me?
