  1. ask for caseback pics and possibly a lume shot. Everything else looks pretty good at first glance.
  2. The SFSO bezel is next to impossible to remove. I spoke with Nakortheblue about how he removed his SFSO and breitling crystals to get ARed by taka. He told me that he simply bent the rider tabs up and pushed the crystal out with the bezel still on. He later put the crystal back in and bent the rider tabs back into place.... Sounds risky, but he said it's worked well for him. Apparently trying to remove the bezel is next to impossible on these aeromarine breitlings, I think The Zigmeister and/or chief mentioned that it wasn't a pleasant experience trying to take off the bezel. The genuine bezels are removed by removing the screws from the bezel, the rep bezels are pressed on VERY firmly.
  3. Now that I think about it, it's not really my favorite, all of my watches are my favorites, but the Skyland is just beautiful. The size, weight, design and chunkiness is pure masculinity on my wrist. I had the watch serviced by Francisco to garuantee long movement life and the DLC treatment doesn't scratch EVER! I might think about dropping a swiss 7750 in this watch but that would require some slight hand modifications.. but it might be worth it, since I like it so much
I mean.. there's no way, that kind of information gets out. We can speculate here on the forum, but nothing more than that.
  5. Planet ocean links are NOT easy to remove. If you have no experience at all with resizing bracelets, I'd take the watch to a generic place that works with watches (NOT AN authorized dealer!) and ask them to take out some links for you. I have a 6.75 wrist.. and I had to take out 3 or 4 links but i kept the "half" link.
  6. smells fishy.....
  7. Probably the most obscure and secretive part of the whole replica market. We've been here for years discussing quality issues, pricing issues, and such of the "rep factories". Not once do you ever hear from anyone within the factories, or have we ever heard names of the people that own and OPERATE these factories. We've never even seen a picture of the production line. The rep world is a VERY dark one, and they like to keep it that way
  8. thanks for sayin hey! great to have you hear. Congrats on your one year anniversary!! Any plans on going VIP or platinum you won't regret it!
  9. I stand corrected. But most all have inventory in china. At least QC has gotten NOTICEABLY better in the last year
  10. haha... not really any stateside dealers... China or europe are your only options. China's almost always cheaper though
  11. Haha.. five year old thread.. Brought back to life!!! Good one though! I've had an AP, and the GEN price is well over $35,000. It's definitely a fantasy watch, but I have no problems wearing it. I don't cross circles with people that wear a lot of nice watches anyways. It looks nice, I wear it
  12. You've gotta go for it! I had to let mine go because of an unfortunate event with a seller but I wish I still had it. No worries FDG, most people will never be able to tell unless of course you're around someone from the forum .. which in that case.... they still might not notice! Maybe I read your question wrong. It just sounded a bit contrived at first glance but I get what you mean. To me the more obvious flaw lies in one's lifestyle. AP's are some of the most expensive across the board watches and generally start around the 13,000-15,000usd mark. If your around people that know the brand.. well.. ya know! It didn't stop me from getting one, and I'm sure I'll have a Grey themes or black themes by the end of the 2011!! (at least i hope). What do you have in your sights?????
  13. Looks awesome!! just wish it wasn't automatic!! Big congrats! you're gonna have a lot of fun this year!
  14. No prob. Don't hesitate to shoot me a pm if you have any questions! you're here for the community... we're here for you
  15. Awesome. Just make sure you do your homework from now on!! hope it turns out all right! stick to the trusted dealers on the site and you should be A-OK
  16. photos are great i love ghetto rigging really makes for some nice shots! Although I have to admit.. your camera DOES make a difference!
  17. Lovin it! absolutely beautiful
  18. um yeah.. Of course its easy when you're looking at 5x magnified macroshots like we're accustomed to on the forum.... From my experience in the real world.. unless you stop and physically ask someone to see there watch closely, most of the time you're NEVER close enough to tell when a gen is a gen or a "good" rep. But I guess you have eagle eyes then??? haha lastly... you say it's "SO" easy for you to spot a rep AP but why are you asking about it's flaws?? Not sure I'm getting the point of this post despite all the great eye-candy. (thanx fiti and 1976) I interpret your question as the following: "Why do you guys wear AP's when they have so many flaw"... But this question could be asked about any brand since no rep is EVER 100%
  19. wow.... it's either an antique movement.. or a clone of an antique!
  20. haha.. incredible good catch pete! i wonder what percentage of watch sales are shut down on ebay as a direct result of RWG members!! Gotta love it!!!!!
  21. great pics. What's your lighting setup?
  22. damn... Supplies barely lasted 2 months!!!!!!!!!
  23. Panerai has several blue hand models... there's no garauntee that the hand is 100% from a 253, it could have easily come from any of the other gen models that use blue chrono hands it still doesnt take away from the fact that it's a gen piece though!! excelllent!
  24. GREAT!!! pics would be really appreciated Pete! I love this forum Diamter, overall height, and edge thickness would be appreciated!
