um... Where are you located.. i´m guessing not the U.S. judging from your english.?? If you´re not located in the U.S. what´s the problem with going to the store and buying some real ones? The United states is the only place that I know of that doesnt sell cuban cigars.... I never smoke cohiba´s (or anything cuban for that matter.. a little strong for my amateur tastes) but I can buy them just as easily as the Vegafinas I like to ocassionally smoke.

Common problem on ALL UPO´s.. not sure when you bought your watch. but if you researched well before buying.. you would´ve definitely seen this topic! Anyways.. it´s not a difficult issue. The fix is to buy a GEN tube and crown. It should be about 30 bucks total from Offrei or Cousins watch parts shop. it requires 4 steps: 1. Removing the movement from the watch (about a 3 or 4 minute procedure) 2. Removing old crown from the stem (just clamp the stem in a 3 clamp drill head and unscrew crown carefully) 3. removing the hold tube with some needle nose pliers if you got em. 4. putting the new tube in and cementing it with a couple drops of Araldite metal epoxy. It takes about 24 hours for the glue to set. The whole labor not counting the 24hour wait, took me about 30 minutes. When you´re finished you´ll have a great looking crown and one that should function for the rest of your life (and you´ll have gen parts installed!)

but he´s talking about a gen crown and tube.. Tube stripping is normal on UPOs but not on gen crown and tubes... So can you tell if the tube is screwed into the crown? Can you notice any breakage when the crown is fully extended? In order to install GEN crown and tube, it´s necessary to cement the tube into the watch case and apply pressure. I used Araldite epoxy and the stuff holds like no other.. in fact.. do a youtube search on its strength and you´ll be amazed. If whoever modded your watch, used glue instead of epoxy its quite possible the tube has simply come undone from the case. If this is what happened, then it´s a relatively simple fix, but would require you to take out the movement clear away debris from the tube hole and tube, and then re-epoxy it to the case using Araldite and some good clamps. Let sit for 24 hours and voila.. a tube that should never come out of the watch case

You got a secs at 12 Black themes right? If that´s the case, your watch guy might have a hard time moddifying an original secs at 9 Swiss Valjoux to your dial configuration. The ASIAN7750 should be fine, but he shouldnt attempt to service one if he´s never done it, since it is quite different from the Swiss 7750.. Your guy should also know that asisan 7750 doesnt have parts compatability with the swiss 7750. Go with a modder here and get your asian 7750 serviced, it should run like butter afterwards Francisco serviced a few of mine and they run great p.s. thanks Francisco!

Open it up and check the movement. If its an omega movement, you´re fine and dandy! looks great! If it is a fake.. it´s definitely a SUPER franken and worth as muuch as you paid since it realy does cost almost the same to make a super franken as it does to buy a used gen!

not sure what the problem could be.. if the rotor spins freely with the case back off then everything should be fine. Does the rotor move with the caseback off? I did notice that you´re missing a screw in the movement holder.. (the metal part outside of the movement). Don{t use any grease on your rotor. If it´s an ETA why not get it serviced to guarantee years of good use?? Another thing.. you shouldn´t need to hand wind your watch at all. Before you put it on, give it a few gentle shakes for a about 20 seconds and then put it on. It should wind itself with the movement of your body. Thats what the rotor is for.

Good to hear it worked out

Not saying it doesn't exist, but come on.. an 80 or 90 year old doesn't go out and buy a 45mm planet ocean.... I'm just sayin

If you got a Swiss ETA 2824 might not even be worth it to go for the datewheel. There's no real visual difference that I could tell, So I ended up not even istalling it on my Franken UPO project. If you really want it, I can sell you my GEN datewheel. Send me a PM if you're interested otherwise, I really don' think it's a necessary mod if you've already got a Swiss ETA datewheel installed...

AP Box, Gen vs Rep side by side comparison
plaifender replied to edgematic1's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
Why would there be any issues about buying a box.. ? you can do the same and buy a gen strap. No issues there either... PARTS, on the other hand, are a COMPLETELY different matter p.s. GREAT review Edge! -
Yeah wheaton, you should've kept it!

how did this transaction end up?? I'm guessing ok since the original poster did not mention anything since this last post.....
