P.s. Nakortheblue has one of these for sale. He's a great seller and I can vouch for him. He GAVE ME a 21j Breitling steelfish for free last year! That's right.. he GAVE ME a free Steelfish! He even refused to let me pay for shipping. The community here is simply amazing at times! You can't go wrong with Nakortheblue.. a great member! edit: didn't realize Andy posted the same sales thread! oops

Well... I'm not from spain.. But I've been living here for quite a while.. and Consider it my home now not sure if Maxman (you da man by the way) was talking about one of our other many spanish natives.. but I'll take this time to say this: Bienvenido al mejor foro relojero que existe en el mundo mundial! The VC overseas is a beautiful watch and fairly accurate. It's not my personal style, but then again, to each his own! A quick search should give you quite a bit of info about the VC line of reps available. Where are you from in spain. If you're around Madrid, maybe we can arrange a meet with some other spanish watch enthusiasts.. I always love a nice Caña!!!

the pics look great. Although, just to be sure, I'd ask for a pic with the Chronos reset to zero.. just to make sure everything is centered and resets correctly. Wanna give one of the watches to me!!???

Goin6633 is located in Taiwan and does quite a bit of lume jobs. His specialty is Pams.. but I think he can do pretty much anything. Takashi is located in Singapore and is known as Taka or 2geek. He conducts business through his website: http://2geek.net/index.php Never used either, but I know of them :)and seen their results The problem with the steelfish and other breitlings is that the crystal cannot be removed very easily. The bezel is next to impossible to remove and since the rider tabs block the crystal from coming out easily it can be quite a pain especially if you have no experience working with watches. Member Nakortheblue has removed his Steelfish crystal successfully by bending up the rider tabs (at 3,6,9 & 12) and was able to press out the crystal that way. It's risky but this proves that it can be done. Hope this helps! -

Breitling Steelfish SuperOcean X-Plus
plaifender replied to Gooner4_1998's topic in The Breitling Area
looks like a completely different dial. Pretty nice overall, but i'm not sure about the "superocean" and "chronometre Certifie" font.. it looks too small. The hour marks also look hollow as if there were no lume inside of them?? I think the ideal, would be completely flat.. Mine are too round.. yours seem to shallow... Any pics of the caseback? -
looks cool!! Very interesting design

It would help if you gave specific examples of the reps you are having trouble with

Had this on my mind earlier: As PeteM is now trying to take measurements for me. I'm not entirely sure that a Genuine crystal will fit the majority of rep versions that have been released thus far. Just from the description of case construction that PeteM has given me, (he has the new "1:1" 253), it appears QUITE different than case construction of V1, V2, V3 and V4 cases. If this is the case, I have serious questions as to whether or not your Gen crystal will even fit one of these rep versions. It's quite possible that your 1:1 crystal will only fit the new version 212's and 253's and not any other version. As such, older version 253s and 212 outnumber these new 212 and 253s by a lot. any info that you can give us on whether or not the gen crystal fits any rep?? Once PeteM provides me with dimensions on his new crystal, we can determine whether or not V1-V5 crystals are interchangeable. As far as the Gen crystal being a direct swap for the reps, was the gen crystal install on your franken seamless?? and if so, which version 212 do you have?
-
Good eyes, i think you might be right The CG looks scratched on the 253. Right close to the cg lever pin.
-
What's wrong with the second hand?????
-
keeping finger's crossed PeteM is taking measurements for me of his new version crystal to see if there is compatability with the older version crystals
-
welcome! pics would be more than welcome!! Gen AP ?? wowowow Greetings from spain

That's interesting.. Usually josh and andrew have the exact same prices..

easier to install just the insert with sanding. Getting the rep bezel off and installing a gen bezel is apparently not the easiest of projects. I've heard of other members having to do some machining to maintain bezel functionality with the gen bezel assembly installed.. But in the end it's up to you and how much you want to invest. Obviously since you have to by the bezel assembly together it'd be a shame that you paid so much and just used the bezel insert!
