And right before I was going to wade in with the usual 'Ethan' analysis! Wishes respected; no troll feeding here.

Kramer F1000 with after-purchase EMGs (double and two singles), Ovation Celebrity, and my favourite; an early '58 Les Paul Standard Sunburst. Marshall stack. So that's where my Youth went...

I, however, am still ultimately pleased with my long-winded 'armour' theory regarding rep watches, which can be found here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=593&hl=armour# Yes, a completely shameless bump, but how often do I really do that anyway?

I'm not so sure... The Rolesium has been out for a while, and they had to take a couple of shots at the dial before they got it right. Mine is definitely more grey (like the Gen; I've had them side-by-side). If you really want to be positive, either get down to a dealer and have a look in person, or try to take some better photos and get in touch with Overboosted; he'll be able to tell you for sure. Regardless, it's a nice watch.

Beautiful girl D; nice work.

There you go Jon; I couldn't leave you hangin' out there in the breeze... Plus, I like the watch.

Is the Navimeter a new line? I mean, I own a Navitimer, but I wasn't aware of the Navimeter. It sounds interesting though... Do you have a pic? Just kidding.

That IS what the Rolesium Yacht-Master looks like. One would assume you knew what it looked like before you bought one... 1) Go to the Rolex site 2) Click on 'Collections' 3) Select 'Oyster Professional' 4) Select 'Yacht-Master' on the bottom... It's the first picture Now go sit down and bask in the comfort of knowing that you (probably) bought one of the closer reps out there; I have one myself. Good choice.

UPS has the highest brokerage fees of any commercial carrier. No thanks.

I'm sorry; you SHOOK the watch? For 10-15 minutes!?! Maybe it's just me, but I don't generally 'shake' my watches to wind them...

I too hate the swinging Yeti. In fact, I hate the baseball Yeti as well. And the icicle Yeti. Those Yetis must die. The orca-smack Yeti is alright though; he does what I tell him to do.

In Toronto; so far 10 reps and no issues. I buy from Josh.

Change 'probably' to 'definitely', and you'd be correct, ceekay. Read up on the posts, don't be afraid to ask some questions, and you'll be safe in here. Careful though; it's addictive as hell! Welcome!

Years of Kendo and Iaido (courtesy of three GREAT Japanese Sensei) have given me a bit of an 'edge' (no pun intended) where things like this are concerned, but no, I'm not Japanese. Just a Canadian-born, lilly-white Irishman (except in the summer, when the sun turns me a very, very angry shade of red... ). I am interested in your membership, though. Can I get a card or something?

Oh F*CK. THANKS Cracker. See what you've done? http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&sho...indpost&p=17342 GREAT.

Oh great, just what I needed. Y'know, I think life was easier before I found PAMs... I'm a pretty disciplined collector (which I've posted about ad-nauseam, so I won't get into THAT again) who until recently hadn't really cared for PAMs. Then I ordered the 7753 Daylight. I figured, "Hey, I'll get this one, and that'll be just enough to round out my collection; a single PAM as a 'nod' to the PAM fanatics". Then came the Arktos. Then the 199 Regatta. Then the Fiddy. And that was all last week ALONE. Now this. It just won't stop. Why won't it stop?

Richard and By-Tor - I think that the issue here is that we all participate in this forum because we have some passion for watches; in particular replica watches. Those who have been here as long as you guys likely have a LOT of passion for watches (or, just no life whatsoever ). Amongst the serious there are always sensitivities triggered by opinion and specific language; buttons to be pushed, if you will. Fundamentally I suppose the issues here stem from the fact that there are numerous camps in this hobby; those who see replica watches as By-Tor does, as a novelty, and those who hold a good rep in slightly higher regard, as Richard does (no offence intended to you gents if I've assessed this inaccurately; I acknowledge that I don't know either of you well enough to do a good analytical job here, but I wanted to try to put some perspective on this issue for the new folks). Email is a crummy communications tool where subtext and nuance is concerned, and forum posting is no better. Maybe the case here? I've read both of your posts on multiple forums for a while now, and have great deal of respect for both of you; I hope (for the selfish sake of the forum members and our little community) that the two of you can agree to disagree. I have always assumed, and perhaps wrongly, that when we talk about accuracy that we are referring to visual accuracy, rather than mechanical accuracy. As such (and to get back to what By-Tor was asking in the first place) I would likely not purchase an inaccurate rep, no matter what the functionality was. At the same time, the thing has got to work, doesn't it? Especially if it is an interesting watch in the first place! I have always loved the Graham Chronofighter, (now THAT is a bizarre-looking watch) but I would never buy it because the subdials are frozen. As the watch is so unique, it's bound to get scrutinized as soon as you throw it on your wrist; "Hey, what's that? Can I see? What do those little dials do?" Yikes! Same with my Navitimer. With the subdials and bezel slide-rule, people are always grabbing it and looking VERY closely at it. Once in a while, without noticing the seconds at nine sub, someone will say, "How come the second hand doesn't move?" I explain that it's a stopwatch, and occasionally am requested to show them how the whole thing works, slide-rule, chrono and all. It would be pretty embarrassing if everything was frozen... despite it's accuracy. No, I'm fine with spending just under $300 on a very, very close rep, and another $275 on a complete service. The watch works great, and with this particular Navitimer, I'm well under the '10% of the gen' mark. And before you say it Richard, yes, I do love a party line...

Steve, I bought this one from Josh: Navitimer 3-6-9 Blue - Ref BRENAV369Blu Asia 7750 Check the Breitling website; this one is as close as you're going to get. http://www.breitling.com/en/models/navitimer/navitimer/ It's a cross between the second steel version, and the first steel/gold version with the blue dial. Like I said, near spot-on. You never want seconds at six; as Tom has pointed out before, the amount of gearing that has to be crushed down at the six o'clock position to accomplish this with a 7750 just doesn't work. This, also as Tom pointed out, is why the Nav is such a good deal; seconds at nine in rep and gen. Hope that helps.
-
Nice! Top drawer, front row, second from right; Josh's Breguet Clasique? If the Fiddy was on your list dude, you should've picked up Richard's...
-
Steve, the 7750 will be fine as long as you get it in immediately for a service. My Navitimer rep works great...
-
Too funny! I love it!
-
Ali G would LOVE these...
-
Joe, it's not like they both won't be taking the trip down to you anyway! Mod away!
-
Good choice, Group!

Just take the plunge, fellow snow-dweller. Nothing would go better with those huge mountaineering boots and goretex.
