  1. I've bought an old Seiko diver which I think would look good on a Nato strap. I think it's a 22mm lug size but I need a long length as I've got tree trunks for wrists. Anyone know where I might get such a thing? None of the ones I've seen on eBay look long enough and I've not had a reply from one guy on eBay who says he has lots of different sizes.
  2. When I first saw pictures I thought they were fugly. Then you see one in the flesh, the first I saw was a gen 104 and it looked and felt gorgeous. I don't like watches to be too complicated so I picked up a 005 from Joshua and it hardly ever left my wrist. I sent my brother a link to the Panerai website and he said that they're ugly. Then he saw mine. Now he wants one It really is a case that pictures don't do them justice, you just have to get your hands on one and try it on.
  3. I think you'd be better off discussing it with the dealer as your first point of contact.
  4. Very useful, and not just to Rolex n00bs. Bookmarked, thanks.
  5. In my case I work in the IT department, we're pretty much expected to be surfing the net when we've got spare time. It's not frowned upon at all. If all our work is up to date and there's nothing outstanding it's not a problem. Not all companies are paranoid about their employees using the internet.
  6. Yup, a few of us at the London get together a while back. Thoroughly nice people, all of them.
  7. I like to have avatars and signatures switched on because they add a personal touch, plus it's easy to recognise some people by their avatars and signatures. At home, if I don't like any of them I can just adblock the images in Firefox. However this means that I can't browse the forums at work without first going in and turning off avatars/signatures in case someone has something there that's not work suitable. It's a pain having to remember to do this so I've ended up just not browsing here when I'm at work. I don't have a choice of browser at work so the adblock thing isn't an option. Shame really. I'd love to see a 'no nudity' rule in sigs and avatars purely for this reason, ie to make the forums work-safe.
  8. I've got that exact Tan strap, but expect people to call it orange. But stick up for yourself, reply "It's not orange, it's TAN". Tan all the way.
  9. I've got a tracking number which ends in TW but I can't remember which site I should use to at least try and track it. I don't expect much success, knowing how well (or not well) tracking has worked in the past but I'm feeling slightly optimistic today and fancy having a go. Anyone know which site I should be using for this one?
  10. 005 Logo. Plain, simple but with a nice touch (the logo)
  11. These two pictures are both shown against the same watch, the 127. One has more blue screws than the other. So how can they both be of the same movement? Something a bit fishy there methinks. (btw, which is right?)
  12. He has a section in the dealership area.
  13. Not good, I assume you'll contact anyone who's payments are held up now to let them know what the score is? *hopes he's not affected*
  14. I didn't think it'd take long for people to get here
  15. Someone on another forum I frequent has just paid £1650 (that's including discount) for a white J12. It's quite obscene really.
  16. *jumps up and down* Really excited about getting my PO from Neil, even more so since I tried a gen on
  17. I read your post when you first made it, not sure why you deleted it
  18. It didn't even cross my mind that I was wearing my 005 but I was in Lakeside buying a pair of shoes and as I walked past Beaverbrooks I saw the Omega display in the window with a 45mm PO black and a 42mm PO orange taking pride of place. I went it to ask if I could have a look at them, I was sat down and offered a drink. The nice lady introduced herself and came back with the two watches. I specifically asked if they had the 45mm orange as that's what I really wanted to try on but they only had what I mentioned. I didn't even think of it but I took my Joshua 005 off and put it down while I tried on the black (the orange one had a smaller bracelet which didn't fit me) and she asked if she could have a look at mine while I was looking at the PO. At this point it clicked what was happening! She picked it up and looked closely at the front and said that it's very nice and I'm obviously a man of taste She didn't even look at the back. We chatted watches for a few minutes, I put mine back on and we continued to talk about the Omega and she again complemented me saying my watch is "gorgeous". I finished my coffee, she gave me a card, we shook hands and I left. Conclusions 1) The large sized Planet Ocean is absolutely beautiful. If the one I receive is 90% of the gen then I'll be very very happy because it's such a nice watch to wear. Seeing and trying on the gen has made me even more excited knowing I have a rep on the way. 2) My Panerai 005 Logo unintentionally passed muster. The Panerai name still isn't very well known in the UK so she may or may not have even known what it is. But I don't care, a nice fit doris liked it, even if she was just touting for business
  19. Gorgeous, Neil (the watch, not you). I've mailed you K.
  20. I guess I was lucky, my package from Davidsen arrived in the UK yesterday about three days after it was shipped K.
  21. I said before and I'll say again - I'm going to buy one of the M&S jobbies (when I can find a shop that has them in)! K.
  22. This is what comes with EL's 127 and as Chronus says, Eddie says it's been scanned from his gen 127. It ties up with what PAMman says regarding the lack of the FIRENZE 1860 K.
